Two of my favorite female singers. I dont think anyone else today is in their league vocally. These are two different styles of singing at least melodically. Jessie has a huge voice, and Joss has a sexier sort of blues.
It's Joss's real voice. Artificially changing the voice= moving the larynx out of a neutral position all the time, adversely affecting tonal production and agility and causing a drastic change in sound quality throughout registers
@RomuloVideos2 all true observations... I think it's a very close one for me personally just because I love Joss's tone and soul. From a purely technical standpoint Jessie wins belting but joss just has such a voice... Thanks for watching! :)
If's about TIME someone used Joss Stone in a vocal battle! She's so incredible! Jessie is the better vocalist but Joss is more soulful which earns a lot of points for me. Overall though, Jessie wins. Great video!
oh i forget about head voice, I love it Joss Stone couse she sound like "breathing" her head voice like the C5 and D5 but then she could sound more clean like the F5. Love her head voice notes from "Whos is loving you" version but i dont know how high are..
they're both amazing but I hate comparing Joss to other singers like she doesn't do all those runs and just has a great voice like Jill Scott that's just not their style. Jessie J is amazing as far as vocal control and agility, she's crazy but then that makes me want to compare her to people like KeKe Wyatt's, Whitney or Christina you know they all do runs..but Joss is in her own soulful planet of awesomeness, her smokey sound is one of a kind. I can't choose between them because they're just so different.
@mAnNyElLaTiNo33 yeah I was astounded that no one had used her at all so I had to :) Pretty accurate statements you made, although I almost feel a sliiiight edge for joss because of her soul, but technically jessie is better. Thanks for watching!
It's a tie on vocal excess bordering on tastelessness, but JJ is like a trained athlete and JS a 'natural'. As live performers I feel JJ is the winner as she always puts herself out there.
Jessie j wins with no argument, joss may have soul but her technique doesn't come close to Jessie's. Joss rarely attempts runs and when she does they're quite detached but Jessie's are complex good to listen to. Joss has a great vibrato even in her higher register but Jessie still beats her in that too for me, great video tho
I don't really think that joss is a true Mezzo, her low is poor and her head voice is so fresh, agile and effortless! She is a Heavier Soprano than Jessie (Same kind of Jhud).
I don't think that jennifer is a mezzo, because of her tessitura is sooo high, and her timbre soooo cold and powerfull, not a mezzo quality. A mezzo with could timbre could be a dramatic one, and jennifer is not this kind of singer.

@@CarlosJunior-ol8zd Support doesn't have a sound. Support is a breath management skill. The better term would be vocal freedom and she has vocal freedom above B4 and she has gotten better with that in recent years.
This is not appropriate. They both have different vocal ranges and styles. Completely different. Joss is a contralto, and Jessie is a soprano or mezzo soprano I believe. They sing different genres in their music, they are completely different singers. They shouldn't not be compared, it is not right, not accurate.
I like Joss more because Jessie J's runs sometimes can be too much and i prefer Joss' belts and style in general. Low notes: Jessie J Belts: Joss Head voice: tie
Low notes: Jessie J for sure. Belting: Jessie J - B4, F#5 Joss - D5, Eb5 Tie: Bb4, C5, E5, F5 I love the grit & rugged soul Joss has in her voice, but Jessie has a soulful voice too, but it's a bit more refined & quirky. I need you to message me the performances where Jessie hit that C#5 slipping up to G#5 & I think it was a Eb5 that peaked at G5, those performances. HV: JJ: C5 J: D5, F5 It's kinda even.
Wow. That Joss chick has a whooole lot of soul. I'm actually suprised. Yo go white gurl! Jessie wins though as a vocalist. I like Joss's tone better though.
I love both singers joss and Jessie they are absolutely different from each other but but joss is the queen of music i love her vocal repertories and everything of her
Joss for the win! haha. Than again I am the biggest Joss Stone fan ever so it may be a little bit biased. Even though Jessie is really great too. I think Jessie's voice is definitely more refined and trained while Joss's voice sounds like it hasn't been trained, she's just a naturally amazing singer but she hasn't been professionally trained if that makes sense...
jennifer hudson and joss stone same mixed register? i think have so much diference, JD have a powerfull voice, and joss have more soul, but that is a hard decision talking about JD and JS
Omg... haha 2 white women with black voices. The truth is that Joss has more soul and has a nice tone. Jessie has better technique and more fame in music. Low Notes: Joss totally wins here, its low notes are much better as she is dramatic mezzosoprano or lyric contralto with high tessitura (I think)! Bb4-D5: Joss wins this because I like it most in this area, her voice sounds very powerful in these notes... I love her dark tone in these notes. Eb5-F#5: Jessie obviously wins this because she is Soprano and is more effortlessly but to be honest, Her voice does not sound very comfortable after G5's... Her belts G#5-B5 they are not bad, but not sound great. Her F5's and G5's are amazing yet. I do not understand yet because she often sings in closed throat... She has good technique and she knows that it is more pleasant in the fully open throat singing to release all the sound and resonance. In summary great video, for me this is a tie.
@LifeisMusic07 the C#5 to G#5 was the performance of Sexy Silk on Jessie J's personal youtube channel (jessicacornish, not her vevo) and the Eb5 to G5 was this: watch?v=bViUKu2Srow thanks for watching, I agree with your thoughts :)
both are my favourite vocalists. jessie has such range and her riffs are so fast and always extremely accurate, she can do so much with her voice and controls it perfectly. joss, despite not having quite as big a range as jessie, and when she does go into her upper register, can't hold the notes as long, her raspyness and tone that just oozes soul more than makes up for it, she can take you to church and back in seconds. very different but both great, slightly more with joss but its so hard.
Who are the Three members of the British vocal trinity? Jessie J: Eb3, E3, B4, D5, E5, F#5 Joss Stone: F#3, Bb4, C5, C#5, Eb5, F5 It was a tie for me. I loooooooooooooooove Joss' tone and I love the ease Jessie has in her chest voice. Great video!
Joss has such a gorgeous tone.
no pueden comparar a una diosa del Soul con una aparecida en el pop plis! Joss es la maestra del Soul and R&B
I Really love both... But Joss Stone voice is REALLY EMOTIONAL... Touch my heart, AMAZING

Joss always!! She is pure passion and soul!
one thing i took away from this, both great singers, but joss stone's band's game is on another level. :|
jessie j :| !

definitly JESSIE J WINS! :D

@iStan4JoAndTK thanks for watching!
I have to say: Joss Stone for that amazing tone and everything else.
Jennifer and Joss have the same mixed register, they sound almost the same, just search it on UA-cam, you will notice it :)
Does anybody know what performance Joss is doing at minute 7? Its the duet where she hits the F5 (which is amazing)
Hi, Raúl, the duet Joss does at 6:58 is performed with Yolanda Adams at the BET Awards and the song is called "Just A Prayer Away".
JESSIE J 😚😘
It's a tie on vocal excess bordering on tastelessness, but JJ is like a trained athlete and JS a 'natural'. As live performers I feel JJ is the winner as she always puts herself out there.
I totally get what ya mean haha. Thanks for watching! :)
hah again? yes great minds think a like hahaha. You welcom:D I really enjoy your videos!
@ThePianoguy89 I agree. Thanks for watching :)
You can’t compare the two , their styles are very different.
Both singers are good!

Also she has a live chest vocal to a Bb5 which is 4 semitones higher than what the video created put
Jennifer Hudson! :)
JOSS STONE!!!!!!!!
@VaunTV ack well leona's talented unquestionably. I just feel like her chest voice leaves a bit to be desired
95% comments : Jessie J is amazing, good, has excellent vocals, technique etc...but I choose Joss. It's just better.

you need to stop telling a story!
who the fuck is joss ?! jessie best !
Jessie j is a very good singer. But Joss Stone is perfection!
I prefer Joss ! But Jessie is good i just don't like her voice timbre even if she has an incredible belting register
Jessie has perfect technique, her range and her runs are very impressive, but I would take Joss's soul and passion over Jessie any day.
Perfect technique? Lol. I love Jessie, but how can you have a perfect technique without supporting anything above B4?
@@CarlosJunior-ol8zd Support doesn't have a sound. Support is a breath management skill. The better term would be vocal freedom and she has vocal freedom above B4 and she has gotten better with that in recent years.

Jessie has good support up to Eb5 you simpleton.
they are both amazing, but I love Joss´s voice, for me the winner is Joss :)
Jessie J = better vocals
Joss Stone = better music
Jessie J is very good, Joss Stone is perfect...
joss stone is easily 10x sexier than jessie. enough said
joss stone is easy
Both vocals are amazing 🤩 Personal preference at this level, and I pick Joss! So jealous of her voice!!
she is beautiful, sexy and have a great voice.. yep, joss stone wins

Joss stone is far from a contralto😂😂
They're both amazing.. But I prefer my Queen Anne :)

It's joke? Compare a goddess of music as Joss Stone with this poor woman?

ms. Stone's bluesy vocal of course Jesse what??? Is she a product of this dwindling music gen
@IAmHitHolic um... How so? No similarities occur to me : o
