Stevie and Lindsey made some great music with FM. They have both done some very good things solo, but there was magic in that mix. Thanks for reacting.
You haven't heard Stevie Nicks sing until you've listened to Fleetwood Mac's 1976 live version of "Rhiannon". Absolutely stunning. Warning: You will have to pick your jaw up from the floor Thanks for the upload.
@@tommythompson9565 Is the idea of a woman's movement having an effect on others new to you? Belly dancing, twerking, swinging their hips does nothing to the observer? I guess strippers just move around and gyrate around because they got crabs?
I really dig this song! The lyrics are very haunting and mystical! I wonder if women, or just humans in general have mystical powers and persuasion! One of those unanswerable questions I suppose!
Fleetwood Mac had a moment back in the 70s when everything was hitting right, full force and dynamic. This song is a microcosm of the Mac, the loose, slow buildup to that grinding, powerful ending. Everything coming together. Brilliance
Hi Angela! Fleetwood Mac - Silver Springs (Official Music Video) is recommended for a reaction bc it's actually a live 1997 reunion version that is like..WOW
Many folks talk about Stevie Nicks, and neglect Christine McVie. She sings 3 solo songs in Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" album, and 2 in the previous album: "Don't Stop", "Songbird", "You Make Loving Fun"; "Over My Head", "Say You Love Me".
Stevie Nicks is in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame twice. For Fleetwood Mac and as a solo artist. You'll love her solo hit "Stand Back" and duets "Leather & Lace"(Don Henley), "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around"(Tom Petty)
Anything that Stevie Nick’s does is awesome I have her box set called Enchanted it is the best box set I have bought and I have a lot of box sets she is amazing love her voice.
EVERYTHING by Fleetwood Mac is amazing! If you haven't already, PLEASE react to "Songbird". Fleetwood Mac is one of those great bands with a deep lead vocal bench through Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, and Lindsey Buckingham and a band full of amazing songwriters...which lets them really show a lot of variety in their songs and sound. The entire Rumours album is FIRE!
My husband was NOT a Stevie Nicks fan when we met. When I played this song for him, he became immediately intrigued with the lyric "Rock on Gold Dust Woman, take your silver spoon and dig your grave" which he felt was the most vicious lyric he had ever heard. And she directed that lyric towards herself. The rest of the song is, of course, directed towards her then recent ex Lindsey Buckingham, who played guitar (and is incredibly underrated as a guitar player IMHO) and sang back up on this song. On one microphone. While she belted in his face "do you know how to pick up the pieces and go home."
Fleetwood Mac and Stevie NEVER fail- Stevie’s as a coupe of her sold called “Has Anyone ever written anything for you?”Also one called “Beauty and the beasts.” I HIGHLY recommend them- absolutely beautiful ..yet often overlooked- For an awesome chant with killer bass and drums, I also believe you’d love their hit “Tusk!”💜✌️
@@rafaelorantes7185 I think that was Bob Welch that sung that song in Fleetwood mac. But I could be wrong. But definitely before the arrival of Buckingham and Nick's into the group.
Stevie Nicks is amazing, but don't discount Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham on lead vocals either! Christine McVie singing "Songbird" is one of my favorite of Fleetwood Mac's many steller songs! =)
Hi Angela 😊 I have a few suggestions for ladies night 1. Pat Benetar - I'm gonna follow you 2. Cyndi Lauper - Time after Time 3. Blondie -Rapture > Female lead singer Any are a great review ❤️
Hole did a cover of this song for The Crow : City of Angels Soundtrack. I like each song for their interpretation from a musical stand point Stevie/FM mellow vibe, Courtney Love/Hole for the dark gothic view
Stevie wasn't the only lead singer, Christine McVie has a great voice, check out some of hers... Don't stop thinking about tomorrow, say you love me, etc... She sang lead on a bunch of their hits. For that matter, Lindsey Buckingham was lead singer on some of their hits.. check out go your own way.
Ex wife asked for a divorce when this came out "did she make you cry, make you break down. Shatter your illusions of love. Is it over now. Do you know how to pick up the pieces and go home".

ANGELA : FIGURED THIS SONG OUT YET ???? STEVIE WROTE IT DURING A COKE BINGE, & TRULY, COKE IS THE " GOLD DUST WOMAN " ----------AHHHHHHHHHH ANGELA, THE 70'S ! YA SHOULDA BEEN THERE. OF COURSE, YA MIGHT NOT BE HERE NOW , BUT THEN -------------MJL, 77 Y/O
This song is not about female mystique. Is it about cocaine addiction. The metaphor compares addiction to a bad lover, a lover that is an oppressive, murdering ruler.
Yep..take your silver spoon (to snort coke), dig your grave...coke..$$$$$...gold dust back in the day...basically the addiction becomes so strong it is your lover and master...glad she lived through it!
The "Rumours" album is a classic. Every song is excellent.
Word
“Rulers make bad lovers, you better put your kingdom up for sale”…
What a great line. Stevie has written some truly great songs including this one.
The most unique of voices..love Fleetwood-Mac and everything they put out. They just had something magical together group wise.
Stevie and Lindsey made some great music with FM. They have both done some very good things solo, but there was magic in that mix. Thanks for reacting.

The whole band was tight, specially Lindsey Buckingham’s guitar playing.
Not a computer in sight when this was recorded. Pure musical talent properly captured.
Watching you move to it is as hypnotic as the song itself 🙂
1000% agree! Her groovin to these videos are more entertaining than the videos!
Come on. I'm a fan of Angela, too, but be serious.

Rumors was one of the big albums in the 70's that everyone seemed to have. There is a ton of good songs on it. Song Bird is so beautiful.
I agree Song Bird is the best.......
I really dig this song! The lyrics are very haunting and mystical! I wonder if women, or just humans in general have mystical powers and persuasion! One of those unanswerable questions I suppose!
Stevie Nick is pure art . She's the lead of Fleetwood Mac but goes solo on accasion under her name .,She's 74 now.
Fabulous song! Live Fleetwood Mac!
Fleetwood Mac had a moment back in the 70s when everything was hitting right, full force and dynamic. This song is a microcosm of the Mac, the loose, slow buildup to that grinding, powerful ending. Everything coming together. Brilliance

This songs beautiful as is Stevie Nicks with her gorgeous music and magic soul.
The Super 70s was a continuous flow of greatness that still feeds the masses today!
What a way to close out a perfect album.
The live version takes this song to another level.

You really need to listen to Sara from the album tusk, it's such a beautiful song and of course Stevie's voice is magical, as usual.
What about 'Storms' from Tusk?

One of my favorite Fleetwood Mac tunes. It’s about c*caine. They spent millions on it. Haunting. Rumors is a great album. All killer, no filler. 💜
Crazy how the drugs brought out good music.. layne Stanley Alice In Chains and skynyrd and Neil young etc etc ❤
Cocaine addiction and a disintegrating relationship. There’s some real emotion behind this one and that is par for the course with this entire album.
Stevie never disappoints. Lindsey Buckingham is also an excellent vocalist, check out "Hypnotized", one of my favorite. So much music left to enjoy.
Hypnotized? I don’t think Lindsey and Stevie where still with FM.
@@rafaelorantes7185 I think that was Bob Welch that sung that song in Fleetwood mac. But I could be wrong. But definitely before the arrival of Buckingham and Nick's into the group.
Happy Easter, Angela. 🐣🐣🐣🐣
Stevie nicks does have the best voice, and I love her songs.
They seem to know the songs that will best complement their voices. Same with Christopher Cross and Steve Perry and others like ....
Stevie Nicks is amazing, but don't discount Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham on lead vocals either! Christine McVie singing "Songbird" is one of my favorite of Fleetwood Mac's many steller songs! =)
Certainly has the best goat-like voice.
You are the BEST, when it comes to groovin with the videos! Keep it up Girl!

You might find Lindsey Buckingham interesting too...."Trouble"....give me a chance. Please.
Dark early catalog. Beautiful.
This song is about Stevie's coke usage/addiction. "gold dust" being cocaine
Stevie Nicks. The original fairy. The original gypsy queen. I had the hugest crush on her when I was 10
Love the way you move to the music.
