This question of "what we want" has made whole world go around. Its in our nature to seek happiness. As swamiji explained the happiness of our senses is temporary. Being part of the eternal energy, we will only be contained receiving that bliss of god.
As swamji said if we ask anybody in any country -"what do u want in life"?One anweser--Happiness. The intellect of everybody is different but the goal is same. Why we want happiness, we never thought of it.
We all at some point in life contemplate..."what is my purpose in life". If we think a little deeper the question we all have is; What is that I should do that will fill my life with complete satisfaction,peace,ever fresh unlimited bliss.
We try different things..works, relationships, travels, hobbies etc but the material world can never satisfy us.
If someone says we're content/happy with our life...its not only cause of curbed expectations but also that contentment is temporary..
Vedas explain we(souls) are tiny parts of the supreme soul=God and God is happiness. Happiness which is ever fresh, everlasting, ever increasing...pure Bliss.
And to attain that perfect happiness=God is sole purpose of human life. All over the world saints have found him and have worked selflessly to show us the path..now it's our turn.
Everyone runs after happiness but no one understands why. If we understood why, it would give our life meaning and purpose , and reorient our efforts in harmony with who we were created to be. Not doctors, lawyers, engineers and CEOs, but children of immortal Bliss.

So true..true bliss is to attain god. Live an independent (i.e. self sufficient/equal contribution in one way or another (if young and healthy), good and balanced life in whatever you do. Enjoy the journey whilst you try to achieve your goals and once you’ve tried, leave it to fate. Just never give up on life all together, keep moving in accordance with circumstances! Very logical. Generally we don't pay attention to this fact that our every action is for getting happiness only. As we are part of God who is an Ocean of unlimited happiness, we also desire that divine happiness.
As Swamiji said above in the video with many examples about happiness:-
We are the souls and our happines is in only god and guru.

Great talk Swamji. Ultimately everybody wants happiness. The goal is one i e happiness .Nobody wants misery in life. Material happlness is transiant where as God's bliss is ever-lasting.

Very nicely explained by Swami Mukundananda ji. What do we want in life. Why do we all seek happiness. Nobody taught us from childhood to seek Happiness. Swamiji explained with many examples and scenarios in life how constantly we are performing actions to attain happiness. But our decision is different that some will think If I get cadillac car I will b happy, and others if I get a job i will be happy. But our ultimate goal is to be happy.
Swamiji also mentioned 7 Billion are people in the world, but each person voice is different, finger prints are different, facial features are different, Body aroma is different. But every person wants to be happy and nobody says' I want to be miserable.
We are all tiny parts of infinite ocean of bliss which is God. This is the reason we want to be happy do not want misery. Swami Vivekananda used to address the people 'O thee Children of Immortal bliss' . This reminds us we are tiny children of God and as He is the ocean of bliss, we naturally drawn towards happiness which is Him.

The thing most people don't realize is looking for happiness in matristic or worldly things a person will never ever be satisfied though he/she always end up searching desiring and attaching more...and finally it will destroy the self... That is why the wise says true happiness comes within which is we try and be satisfied of already what we have and or nothing.......but that needs discipline and practice

I am no expert in this topic but i believe all we are seeking is pleasure. No matter what we do in our lives, that's always associated with pleasure. It's human and basically every creature's natural impulse to approach pleasure and distant themselves from potential pain. However, the worldly pleasures that we are after are transitory and we should all strive for eternal bliss. And that will only come by seeking God. So, our time and energy must be spent in serving,pleasing and seeking the almighty. 🙌
