When I mentioned to the customer service rep that it was the first time I had ever purchased an item after seeing an influencer use it, she said "she's not an influencer. She's an educator." The first time I went backpacking, my friend brought a proper low tech espresso maker and we had excellent lattes. I told him he ruined every other mountain morning thereafter, but luckily everything tastes delicious in that good air. I still bring powdered espresso but tbh it’s mostly cabin camping these days, but we do the minimal forest service cabins. Excellent compromise when the lower back starts screaming if it even sees a tent…

I love these videos too and have been a chronic headache sufferer for decades. After hurting my back, I went to a chiropractor for the first time in over 3 decades and found out I have abnormal neck bones and an extra backbone. I've been going now for a couple months and my headaches have decreased dramatically and I can run and hike a lot easier. I hope you all can find relief to do what you love without pain. Hike on!

If you have the ability to tell this to LMNT.... I'd really like an option to just buy that 8 flavor sample pack at a discount rather than have to buy an entire pack of one flavor to get it free. Isn't the point to try them all to find your favorite, then you can buy that favorite? It seems like they're doing it backwards.
Then get a variety pack then use the promo, I did it. Btw you can make at least 4 drinks from one package at 16 oz each. They are strong and go a long way.
You can email them and ask, they often will send it out as a free sample to get you to buy more. I have POTS and a lot of those in the POTS community have said they reached out to LMNT and they sent them free samples! I love citrus salt and salted caramel chocolate (i have that one hot). If you find it too salty just use either half the package and get an acquired taste for it. I don't find it that salty at all anymore.
I recently found your content and have been watching your videos. First, you are amazing and inspirational. Your video with your friend Pam inspired me to get back outside and enjoy the world. I am not in the best of shape, and have bad knees, but I went on my second hike today. I pushed myself as hard as I could stand while remaining within my limits. I live in south Texas and took a hike to Enchanted Rock State Park. I know you would enjoy it. It was a pleasant walk; all be it uphill.

As someone that loves exploring the path less taken, I'm ALWAYS scared when hiking solo. My day hikes end at night. If I'm not scared, I'm not hiking. I'm also extremely tough and aggressive - physically and mentally. If you aren't scared, you're too comfortable. Lots of homeless people live deep in the wilderness. I've stumbled across numerous homeless camps more than a day's hike into the wilderness. You SHOULD be scared. I've bumped into bears and have heard the deep guttural grumble of a panther. Be scared. I'm taking my first multinight backpacking trip in 10 years this July. As someone who has "been out of the game" for so long, your content has been incredibly helpful for me. If I'm hiking in the Alpine Lakes this summer, I usually try to fit a day hike to Stewart Lake in each year, it would be awesome to meet you on trail. Keep treking!
I rarely read UA-cam video comments but I reviewed them today figuring a vegan/vegetarian may negatively comment on your choice. Happy to see I couldn’t find any. I know other creators talk about the comments and some are bothered by them.
Last week on a road trip with my son I was telling him about how many things I have learned from watching your channel, and I just wanted to say thank you!! I don't camp or backpack anymore because I don't have a setup for using my cpap in the backcountry. I miss it but going without decent sleep just isn't worth it for me. Ooo great question!! YES. We do "dummy checks" now, walking the whole campsite to make sure we haven't lost anything, but I once left a bandana draped across a log. The worst part? This was pre-Kula Cloth, and that was my pee rag ☠️ unfortunately I didn't realize I'd left it there until I was home and unpacking my bag days later.

I was just in Leavenworth last week. I camped out at ida campground and did the icicle gorge trail! Absolutely beautiful I’m born and raised in WA and I’ve never been there before. The town was ok but the scenery was EPIC!! When I left I drove 405 thru the Wenatchee forest and it’s my new fave. I can’t wait to go back and can some more! Aren’t we the lucky ones to live in such a beautiful diverse state ❤️❤️❤️ also I love LMNT!! I’ve realized how dehydrated I’ve been and wow it makes a huge difference and I drink mine all the time not just on trail. Eastern wa gets HOT as satans ball sack and I sweat constantly 😂😂😂
Love your videos! Re plant based diet- I eat plant based 90% of the time- for health reasons. Sometimes I crave cheese or eggs or a hamburger! Got to listen to the body.

I have an allergic reaction to dairy which also manifests as a migraine. I haven’t eaten dairy in over 10 years (I don’t miss it) I also tried plant based (vegetarian for a couple years, then vegan) it is not optimal for me, so now I eat just about everything besides dairy. I’m 53 and hike/backpack and recently got into canyoneering. I feel so great!!
I have a feeling if we hiked together we might have too much fun goofing off and never get anywhere. When I hike I am always thinking of crazy things that would make a good video. I will give you one short one: All the various ways of going around over and under trees across trails. Of course each method would need a cool name ie: limbo, army crawl, cowboy etc. You get the idea. I don’t have a good videographer so go for it. Add a few stream crossings for extra credit. One of my least favorites was my leap slip to a rock and fall on butt. Hope I do see you sometime on trail. Happy hiking!

Hahaha didn't even need to edit in any rays of sun when you came across the glorious pit toilet, because they were there naturally! It was like fate and the universe (and the chili coffee) was calling you to the toilet throne. Nature is so cool! 💚🌎 Another wonderful, thoughtful and insightful video in a beautiful location. Super cool video. I’ve been scared of the dark since I was 3, I’m 60 now. For my 1st solo overnight I went to great lengths to make sure I would not have to leave my tent in the dark. Fast forward and all of those pee-in-my-tent contraptions are now gathering dust, I still make sure I have a podcast or audiobook so my mind doesn’t wander where it shouldn’t. Also, I have sensitive skin and most wipes irritate me. I’ve found that simple witch hazel wipes, if needing wipes, work great on any and all body regions.

Miranda, I started using LMNT from your recommendation. It is incredible! I use it mostly when I'm outdoors, hiking, hunting, backpacking etc. I also have a medical condition that causes my body to consume more potassium than most people so on days where I feel the effect of that I'll throw an LMNT packet in my nalgene instead of taking a supplement.
Hey! I was just eating lunch right at the campsite yesterday! We got snowed on. And saw that same chipmunk desperately seeking snacks. His hunt was fruitless, but he put in a good effort. I rarely read UA-cam video comments but I reviewed them today figuring a vegan/vegetarian may negatively comment on your choice. Happy to see I couldn’t find any. I know other creators talk about the comments and some are bothered by them.

Last week on a road trip with my son I was telling him about how many things I have learned from watching your channel, and I just wanted to say thank you!! Hiking etiquette, how to pack a pack, how to store food, leave no trace(don’t toss out those banana peels!) I have learned a lot and laughed a lot too. Keep on making great videos!

So I never like videos(as in the thumbs up), but just your personality and like being queer and being who you are and not care what others think and that you’re so busy with mental health (like half a year ago the video of stopping winter camping because of anxiety, and in this video the first question about being scared while solo camping), and that you are just yourself… for me the only way to express that, my appreciations for you and who you are and your videos and how much I love them, is by liking your videos (I’m already subscribed)

I don't camp or backpack anymore because I don't have a setup for using my cpap in the backcountry. I miss it but going without decent sleep just isn't worth it for me. Someday I'll fork over the dough for the mini machine and batteries - they're just so spendy and I'm a cheapskate. Until then, I live vicariously through this channel....so thank you.

Ooo great question!! YES. We do "dummy checks" now, walking the whole campsite to make sure we haven't lost anything, but I once left a bandana draped across a log. The worst part? This was pre-Kula Cloth, and that was my pee rag ☠️ unfortunately I didn't realize I'd left it there until I was home and unpacking my bag days later.

I was just in Leavenworth last week. I camped out at ida campground and did the icicle gorge trail! Absolutely beautiful I’m born and raised in WA and I’ve never been there before. The town was ok but the scenery was EPIC!!
When I left I drove 405 thru the Wenatchee forest and it’s my new fave. I can’t wait to go back and can some more! Aren’t we the lucky ones to live in such a beautiful diverse state ❤️❤️❤️ also I love LMNT!! I’ve realized how dehydrated I’ve been and wow it makes a huge difference and I drink mine all the time not just on trail. Eastern wa gets HOT as satans ball sack and I sweat constantly 😂😂😂
Love your videos! Re plant based diet- I eat plant based 90% of the time- for health reasons. Sometimes I crave cheese or eggs or a hamburger! Got to listen to the body.
In some cultures where plant based diet is customary, they take animal protein as "medicine" as required.

I have an allergic reaction to dairy which also manifests as a migraine. I haven’t eaten dairy in over 10 years (I don’t miss it) I also tried plant based (vegetarian for a couple years, then vegan) it is not optimal for me, so now I eat just about everything besides dairy. I’m 53 and hike/backpack and recently got into canyoneering. I feel so great!!

I have a feeling if we hiked together we might have too much fun goofing off and never get anywhere. When I hike I am always thinking of crazy things that would make a good video. I will give you one short one: All the various ways of going around over and under trees across trails. Of course each method would need a cool name ie: limbo, army crawl, cowboy etc. You get the idea. I don’t have a good videographer so go for it. Add a few stream crossings for extra credit. One of my least favorites was my leap slip to a rock and fall on butt. Hope I do see you sometime on trail. Happy hiking!

Hahaha didn't even need to edit in any rays of sun when you came across the glorious pit toilet, because they were there naturally! It was like fate and the universe (and the chili coffee) was calling you to the toilet throne. Nature is so cool! 💚🌎

Super cool video. I’ve been scared of the dark since I was 3, I’m 60 now. For my 1st solo overnight I went to great lengths to make sure I would not have to leave my tent in the dark. Fast forward and all of those pee-in-my-tent contraptions are now gathering dust, I still make sure I have a podcast or audiobook so my mind doesn’t wander where it shouldn’t. Also, I have sensitive skin and most wipes irritate me. I’ve found that simple witch hazel wipes, if needing wipes, work great on any and all body regions.
We’ve been following your videos for a while now and love how u keep it so real and fun , very entertaining 💕 keep up the great work and come hike with us here in Australia some time , xx

With your help, hopefully I'll finally get the guts / figure out how to solo backpack! I think I've wasted a lot of time being angry at myself for getting spooked rather than just trying to figure out what works for me. But I'm getting really tired of 20mi hiking days and not getting to explore that extra bit I want to just because I'm not comfortable staying out there overnight.

Miranda, I started using LMNT from your recommendation. It is incredible! I use it mostly when I'm outdoors, hiking, hunting, backpacking etc. I also have a medical condition that causes my body to consume more potassium than most people so on days where I feel the effect of that I'll throw an LMNT packet in my nalgene instead of taking a supplement.
Hey! I was just eating lunch right at the campsite yesterday! We got snowed on. And saw that same chipmunk desperately seeking snacks. His hunt was fruitless, but he put in a good effort.
