Man, where do I start. This song stems from so much pain, so much struggle, so much disbelief. In myself, in other people. For so long I would drown myself in substance to forget, so I could breathe (or what I thought was breathe). I couldn’t see past the barrier of my own infliction. But the devil is a liar, and I am happy to say that by the grace of God I am nearly 2 years sober. If it wasn’t for Him swooping me up and saving me time and time again, I’m not sure where I’d be. He continues to work through His intentional intervention in my life, and I’m more excited than ever to see where He takes me.
As for the devil? Well he’s still there. And he’s still a liar. He’ll always be there, but with Jesus on your side you’ve already won. He’s waiting for you to see it, to pick up your cross and bear it, to conquer the Devil on your shoulder.
