They don't get the point that the answers aren't facts. They are what people answered on a survey. So your answer should be what you think an average person would say.
Yeah but, no one said refrigerator (that of course it is older than 50 years) but two damned people said washing machines that are 100+ years old and nine said TV that is around 100 years old.

The first commercially successful dishwasher was invented in the 19th century.

The only one on that last from "the last 50 years" was the personal computer, and even that's pushing it, since those were around in the late 70's.
TVs were sold commercially in the 30's. Washers and dryers were in the early 1900's for washers, and 1930's for dryers. Dishwashers became commonplace in the 20's and 30's.
If they'd said "the last 100 years", most of those would be fairly accurate, if barely in some cases. But 50? No.
To be fair, every single one of those "answers" were invented over 50 years ago.

Washing machines became fairly common household appliances in the 30's. Same for dryers and TVs.
The only one on that list "within the last 50 years" is the personal computer.

If you have a hanging plant that gets really dry you soak the entire thing in a bucket or wash basin overnight - otherwise, the water from a can will just flow around the sides and out the bottom.

I'm 54 and we had a washer, dryer, TV, and a dishwasher when I was born, none of which were new inventions. The computer (appliance?) and microwave were the only correct ones.
Unfortunately, when playing the game, you have to take into account (1) when the game was made (early 2000s), and think about appliances invented 50 years before that, (2) when they did the polling (the surveys used in the game were taken from the show, so could've possibly been from the 1970s (and sound like it, tbh)) and think 50 years before *that*, and (3) the fact that the answers aren't facts but are instead based on the most common answers given by 100 random people who might not know anything about when various appliances were invented. If the question was "Name something invented by cavemen" and 75 people said "computer," then, no matter how dumb an answer it is, "computer" would be the top answer on the board.
I'm rather surprised for the question of what you hate to lose at the mall that no one (especially Apsro) said virginity. 😆

Don’t leave the room. The second team is given less time to answer because they are allowed to see the first team answer. Leaving the room would give team two an extreme handicap.
It's annoying that it's the opposite of the actual show, but it makes sense you wouldn't want to make a player leave the room in the middle of a video game.
