As in any creative skill, I can tell that what she's doing is about 5,000 times harder than what it appears to be. There are so many difficulty elements that go unappreciated in watching this. It is SO hard to express onto paper those graceful loops in her letters without them being too fat, too pointy, too flat, too high, too low etc. The whispy gracefulness of her writing comes from the quick and light SPEED of her pen. Writing very fast exactly translates to many more mistakes, splotches of ink, misspellings, crammed up letters, letters that clash with other letters hanging from above etc. Yet writing slowly and carefully produces an cold and 'intentional' appearance. But the most fantastic aspect of her skill is the VOLUME of continuous lettering she can produce that is void of obvious gaffs! Even her imperfections are redeemable by her hand. I've spent many hours with my various calligraphy pens, inks and papers. Compared to her work, my very best single letter that I've ever written looks as if some 4 year old wrote it while wearing boxing gloves and while riding a roller coaster! lol My hat is off to you pretty lady.........
Having just re-entered the Calligraphy world after some years away, I can truthfully say that the effortlessness of your style leaves me in sheer awe. I also hate you for it. 😁
Beautiful. Skilled. Lots of time practising. Oblique penholder with maybe Gillott nib or Hunt. It's very fine and not too flexible. Schin Loong is writing very lightly, skimming the surface. Just mesmerising to watch. I can do some, but s i g h !
I’m in awe ... that’s one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen a person do, and so effortlessly. Your truly gifted, it’s a very special thing to receive a personalized invite, not just hand written but sculpted , if you will, in such a beautiful and perfect hand. I suppose this may not mean much to some, but to me, this is something I’ve been wanting trying and practicing for months and I may as well give it up, because I’m in “tee ball” status while your batting home runs in the major league . Congratulations 🎈🎊!
kimber leigh dont ever give up, I’m learning as well....it’s a technique and once you learn it you’ll have it forever, it comes faster for others and I can assure you she’s done this for many years...never give up on your dreams, I’m 63 and I love learning new things, and I will get this if I don’t die first .....best of luck
Damn..I thought this as a tutorial and when I took my pen and started the video.. saw that different type of pen(or whatever that is) and that first 'S' letter itself made me to put down my pen and to watch the video :( I can't even write a single letter like that..she is so professional..
Beautiful I adore this kind of Calligraphy, it’s on my to learn list! I love writing with a fountain pen. I treated myself to an expensive one for my 50 th birthday and I love writing with it.
I'm learning calligraphy and god you make it look so easy It's so hard for me to handle the pen and make it WRITE without splitting ink all over the paper
Absolutely mesmerising and beautiful to watch you write those names, with such grace and skillfully. Mind telling us what nib do you use? Many thanks. [I only started on calligraphy around 4 weeks ago, as I last used calligraphy some 40 years ago!]
Nice to see you! I used my first pointed pen yesterday! I watched your channel to learn! Do you still think Sumi ink is the best? I tried to get the yellow and blue Michael Sull pen on Spencerian.com but the site was dated 2015. Can you still shop there? Where could you get your pens from now?
I kind of draw an invisible line with my eye. And always pull back and keep an eye on the previous letter to help guide me through the entire word/sentence.
They're both different types of scripts.. in my opinion copperplate is drawn (slow movements), and spencerian is written (faster movement). I think it would be confusing to learn both at the same time, but dabbling in both will let you decide which to choose, and you can go from there.

One of my favorite calligraphers with the most elegant hand used to be a body builder. Can't judge a book by its cover
this ... video ... is ... awesome!!!!!!!!!!! 🤩 (i think i could watch this for hours)
She makes it look effortless but there's probably thousands of hours of practice behind this

When you wrote the names Becky & Jesse, I thought of the show Full House!😂
That Potato I'm watching full house right now and this video at the same time hahahha
God you are talented. In my dreams could I do that.
Don't let your dreams be dreams!
Very nice
So inspiring! Thank you!
Nice!!
The only reason because I try to learn this it's because I need a beautiful signature. My signature is horrible and I don't know how to change that😭.
I thought you were going to make a reference to spider-man with aunt Mary and uncle Ben xD
happy you are back :)
Thank you!
When you view, you fall into a meditative state. 💞👍 And what kind of nib does a wizard use?
One more question? Are ergonomic oblique pens worth the difference to a beginner as opposed to a professional / hobbyist?
Thank you in advance.
It's so mesmerizing. Please mention the name of the pen and nib, or the link to buy it online.
You can check out my beginners guide here: openinkstandblog.com/whattobuy/
Amazing!
Very nice!! Just let your hand flow freely ✍
Absolutely mesmerising and beautiful to watch you write those names, with such grace and skillfully. Mind telling us what nib do you use? Many thanks.
[I only started on calligraphy around 4 weeks ago, as I last used calligraphy some 40 years ago!]
This was probably with the Leonardt Principal nib... welcome back to calligraphy!
Hello. Plz write 'sumayyah' in English calligraphy.. plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz😇 💖❣️
You are super.. 🤞
Master
gorgeous. What is this style called and where can I learn how to do it? What materials are you using?
wowwwwwwwww
Thank you so much this is so helpful for me😍😍😍
Thank you for the video, I learn so much from you! Could you tell me what's inside the second jar? Is it something to clean the ink from the nib?
Yes it is simply plain water.
Hey, great video, absolutely stunning, every letter. Quick question: What nib were you using, and what ink?
I cant even print my name in pen without fear of a mistake : /
I want to learn how to write like her😭
Nice to see you! I used my first pointed pen yesterday! I watched your channel to learn! Do you still think Sumi ink is the best? I tried to get the yellow and blue Michael Sull pen on Spencerian.com but the site was dated 2015. Can you still shop there? Where could you get your pens from now?
Pooh Bear I believe so. He's still making pens. I think you just use the form for ordering.
more! :) miss your videos
missed a comma after the initials "H.T."
I really love you
How in the world are you doing this? I can barely write my name in regular handwriting 😂
How did you train yourself by keeping the letters on the same height? I still have to drawn lines.
I kind of draw an invisible line with my eye. And always pull back and keep an eye on the previous letter to help guide me through the entire word/sentence.
good grief!! I was hoping to learn something.. you're far to quick. ;p.
beautiful work, I hope I can be as smooth and flow like you !
Do the type of letters you make have a name of the style or font? Or are they modeled after a certain font?
Nope.. just my personal stylization.
i almost never see redipe pen how hold so much ink ?
What nib are you using?
whats the difference between copperplate and spencerian? is it possible to learn both or will it confuse one person?
They're both different types of scripts.. in my opinion copperplate is drawn (slow movements), and spencerian is written (faster movement). I think it would be confusing to learn both at the same time, but dabbling in both will let you decide which to choose, and you can go from there.
beautiful!! what nib do you use in this video?? please
This was a Leonardt Principal nib
Nice work. How long did it take you to develop your caligraphic technique?
I have been writing for about 5 years now
