For some reason I can't get enough of these Pelican Bay / SHU stories. The reality in there could not be further from my own situation living here in Finland, one the safest countries in the world. Even though there is nothing glorious in living a criminal lifestyle, you still have to admire the dudes who sat in the SHU for decades without breaking, while running a huge criminal enterprise. There really is something to learn there, even for a square like me. Keep doing what you're doing Dubs, you are an inspiration!
I’m the same bro. I’m in England and find how Cali prison is fascinating, especially in comparison to uk prison. I did a bit of uk prison a long time ago so the only difference is I can roll down a hill as I’m not a square 😂🤣😂. Respect dude.
@@truthwarrior2149 you really think that??? There is always something to be learned, each and every day is a school day if you’re willing to take it onboard. Just from this video there’s things to be learned to improve yourself. Respect is something that’s lacking in the world currently, which leads to thinking before you speak which is something I’ve worked on since watching these vids. Learning about yourself and how to use your mind to get through things instead of letting them ruin your life. Teaching yourself in a variety of ways to improve yourself and your life, which will make your family life better is a great message if you’re open to hearing it bud.
@@Mikeyscaff1111 yes they do have tread skills courses in Prisons that you can learn and plenty of book's for people to read while doing down time. It's up to them to either learn something or stay in the mix inside of the wall's. If a person knows he has a due date to get out, that's when they should be getting in all the courses they can to be better prepared so when they get out they can get a job/career. I know many that did prison time and got out and started there own business or worked for a business and climb the later for a good living. Just when you get out you have to change your ways and don't go right back to the same Ol places that got into prison in the first place.
I wish Rogan would have you on his show. California prison is unique and special compared to anywhere else in the US and the nuances and complications make for some very compelling and fascinating stories. A legit expert, especially one as well spoken as yourself would be exactly what he would need.
I have two good friends that write me from pelican bay. One is doing 12 and the other, 75. They don't know eachother, but i noticed something alike in both of their letters as time passed. The feel of Their letters have become very monotone. Its as if you could see how that place is slowly draining the life out of them in real time with every letter. Its not that they complain either, because they don't. But you can feel something sad and hopless in their voice through those letters. God be with those men, Seems like a terrible place.
When they started removing the speakers from the tvs is when that contributed to the silence. Pelican Bay was an experience I was there for 6 and a half years and 1.5 yrs on the line. You learn to choose your words wisely because everything is scrutinized. Grateful for that experience. Orale pues.
I have told you before, I have never gone to jail or prison. There was times I should have. How did you do it? How did you go in on a murder charge and gang enhancement and make it out. You are so level headed from what I see. So logical and real. Do you have times that are hard realizing you got a 2nd chance and turn around? My hat is off to you sir. Salute! Thank you for educating all of us. Much appreciated 👏
Just found your content bro. Love the amount of respect and just all around understanding that you portray my guy. Ill definitely tap in for some more stories G
What up big dog really enjoy your vids I watch everyday it helps keep me grounded and remember how bad it can be brother. Thank you for speaking truth.
They can take most things from you. But knowledge is something you keep forever homie. Educated people are examples of strong minded individuals. Great story brother.
I have done time in three states two on the east coast and one in the Midwest. I also couldn't imagine how tough it must be to do time in Pelican Bay .I not talking the violence because every prison has that I'm talking the endless time in a damp depressing cell.

What's up dubs saludos de condado kern,I just paroled from The Bay and the shu is closed down .Only A,B,D yard are open plus the M.S.F facility.Stay Blessed 🙏
I give you a lot of credit for being able to do time inside Pelican Bay, when you did, and to do so well for yourself after being released from CDC. God has truly blessed you. You were very accurate in your description of Pelican Bay. :-)
In my mind I'm picturing the worst place I can be in my life being underground with nothing no sound. That's no conperasine to being out in the mountains camping at least your around tree's spring water, lake's, river's. I understand what your talking about Dub's. Keep on spreading the word I hope youngin's catch this video and know there are better thing's in life than living in a small cell.
Aye Dubs I truly respect your Style . I hope there are a lot more homeboys like you . I'm an Artist from Harbor City CA . My Name is SAYSO , hope to see you make really far .
totally agree with you with what you said towards the end of your video. when you going through suffering even with you enemies next to you, you give them and get respect. ppl that dont go trough it will never understand
Yet ppl who do go through it, seemingly can also not understand. Because it’s not actually respect, it’s fear. Like anything it’s probably a little of both, but I’d argue it’s mostly fear, perhaps a little of both. But I’d argue it’s much more due to fear than respect. The silence being evidence of that.
Another great video Dubs,I’ve watched nearly your whole catalogue in last 2 months and have enjoyed and learnt a bit from each. What I don’t think you’ve done one on is when someone is hit because he’s done something wrong e.g debt of some sort stepped out of line but did not run patched himself up in his cell like you’ve said you should do how is he accepted back? Who tells him why? Are there men on the yard who have had that experience but still rised to become someone respected? And last of all with all these pokings stabbings Holy Shit there must be some horrific scars out on the yard and are you wary of someone who carries those scars when you meet for 1st time? Cheers Dubs!
Thank you for this hermano. I work in programs in the San Francisco county jail as a case manager and facilitator. I would love to connect even if it’s just for 30 mins and I don’t mind paying. That last two minutes really struck a cord, would like to ask more about what worked for you and how I can be more effective in the work I’m so passionate about,.
I try and watch all videos, but brother learning about the bay from someone who was in the thick of it and willing to talk about it is awesome. Statistically, it's very low what you experienced. Keep on keeping on, brother.
Man dubs, that poem ur talking about…. I had a cellie, a well known cellie back in 2001 when I was in Tehachapi SHU that had that same poem posted on the wall I remember the homie every day in the morning reading it out loud “ I’m not a law for all. “I’m only a law for me and my kind. Those who stand with me must be… something something I can’t remember the rest but when u mention them few words I was like oh shit that’s my old cellie poster poem. I send mines homeboy just thought I’d shoot that to u c/r Chucky
I won't say I enjoyed it but hearing about that held my interest all the way to the end. It's wiwrd , I've never been to pelican bay but I have experienced blank walls, sensory deprivation they call it, feeling like your underground, isolated and for me at the start it was fear inducing, and then reaching a kind of peace with it, reading, exercising, getting comfortable with the route. It does mess with your head though. Going from that level of sensory deprivation and solitude to being kicked out onto a prison yard much less being released from that type of environment I've felt like I was going mad. All the noise and people around you. Straight out tripping. I wander what that feels like for other people. Maybe it's ju......fuck it. I don't know why I'm still drawn to hearing this stuff. Good video anyway
If I’m late I apologize but there is a video called “pelican bay state prison security squad “ would great to see your reaction and get your opinion as guy who spent time in the SHU in pelican bay around the same
Good work. You did a vid a while back, sitting in your car in the morning. Was a good change, edgy. You were a bit tired, a bit more negative than usual, but it was a whole different feel. Do that again. You were a bit distracted and speaking slow so maybe take some notes to keep the speed up. Wes' vids outside got a lot of views, replicate that, go sit somewhere sit on a bench in a park or a with a wall with graffiti on in the background. I know this seems lame but it will get views. We sit and watch and having scenery adds to the video experience. Sitting in your house is good, has a very academic feel, detailed, but with the flannel and sunglasses it has a gangster vibe.
