Born in TB left in 1974. Don't remember much about it. My old neighborhood (LaSalle Place - Row Housing) Going for lunch with my Aunt at Woolworth's. Some School Memories. Some Friends. Only have been back a few times family stuff...Sure has grown...
18:16 you were in the left turn lane and decided to go straight lol
Thanks for the ride! My ol' hometown...grew up there 50s, 60s...seems to have been a sale on vacant lots...
The first part “POV: you’re on the Arthur bus”😂😂jk
Lol I've taken that bus a few times to get home from Walmart. I live by Arthur and Edward and so the bus takes me right back. I keep forgetting the route includes the Airport and I always get frustrated when it takes the right hand turn onto the Expressway.
nice win buddy
Just to say the Air port is in the city, that is why we have no tall buildings
I flew at that airport a few times, still had a 20’ pile of snow in mid May. 😉
There's not so much snow any more.
I was staying here for studying abroad, it was good city
Did u experience any racism?
@@pilotjones9866 lol
Was a good video thanks for sharing 👍🏽
I'm stuck here. Eh, can't complain. Gotta excellent work here.
👍👍👍👍
Which DashCam are you using? Ive been looking to upgrade mine.
I love TB. used to live there in 90's it was the best time. Still go back every year.
I spent a week there one day.
It's a real shame that the T.B. Expy is still undivided and filled with lights. Most accidents happen because of the high speed limit (90km/h) on the road, and vehicles in the innermost lane that happen to swerve out of control often drive into oncoming traffic due to no median being present, causing a head-on crash. Not to mention its position as part of the TCH.
The Harbour Expy has some bad spots too, but it's a bit better.
I still wonder why twinning from T.B. to Nipigon is more important than the T.B. Expy upgrades. I know there's no other route around the highway there, but the money should've been relocated towards the upgrading the route within the city, where there's a higher traffic volume.
At least the intersections along the TCH should have interchanges (Balsam, Red River, Oliver, John, Harbour Expy)
@@tylerdulude5162 Red River and John can't really be fixed due to the surroundings, but they should definitely do something with Balsam, Oliver, and the Harbour.
Honestly living here leaves a lot to be desired, especially as a youth.
nothing here, except...
@@ArchiDL Moneyyyyy!!!
So isolated but at least there is a sense of community in TB. Unlike Ottawa where you’re just a face in the crowd.
I've been looking for this, thank you! So, do you think this city is as good as it looks?
Yes, I think so. They're trying to develop more on the waterfront which is nice. Pretty much has everything a larger city needs.
Oh yeah!
wow thunder bay has sure gottin bigger n alot more stores
It's almost a ghost town
Very nice quality. Nice to see a video of a town north of Toronto for a Change.
Why are all the new non governmental buildings so UGLY. They remind me of things Ive seen in pictures and videos of Alberta
So the same 5 chain stores that you see in the rest of Ontario.
I honestly do not miss the city of Thunder Bay but it's my home...
You notice the triangle shape thing in the sky 9:01 ufo or only cloud in the sky
Do you mean the cessna?
I live here, and I hate it
I love my hometown, and have a really good life, but watching this somehow makes me feel depressed. I think it is the lack population/cultural/economical density that makes it great and isolated at the same time.
You missed the Scandinavian influence, and the university campus; also not a lot of the Bay.
Did you know u stayed in a hunted hotel?
Nice typical (Thunder bay) left turn 0.53 🥴 also driving slow in the fast lane.
8:50 I miss Armani's Night Club. 😞
🙏🙏🙏
keep the snow up there we got none n belleville
Most Boring Place XD Dryden and Fort Frances are nicer. Goodness, Earfalls and Grandportage are nicer.
town taxes too much for developers to take an interest, and all the business directly compete with one another. Big Boxes come in and close because they have 4 competitors. No one suggests any smart infrastructure. just coffee shops.
Port Arthur and Fortwilliam are like 50% empty storefronts. Aside from empty storefronts in the South side, Reserve and generally all about and down the hwys.
and then they pay those taxes to Roofers, Welders and Tradesmen as business Expense Tax Rightoffs, WHILE they drive around in Company Trucks who write-off all the fuel. So you know where the taxes Go. The Taxes that killed our town ae in the Company Trucks of all the Tradesmen.
people drive to get coffee in work trucks and write off the gas on their taxes, killing the town. And the coffee was written off as a business expense too, by the coffee shop*!.
the union killed the town. They gave nothing back to the community. They hoarded all their frivolously glamourous wages to themselves. and the cities taxes paid them those wages****.
the unions utterly destroyed us.
Now LiUNA crept in to town from the USA to F Up our community even more.
that's everyone's property tax, that the union workers are burning.
and the city doesn't have the fkn sense to sell the lots at low prices with low taxes. They have to write deals with the Boardmembers behind closed doors too, in private to Earn those privileges, and be part of their guilded community so they can lobby for Political Positions.
LOL SUN 😎
44:01 In 2017 I wrote a short story about this graveyard.
Cool. Where can people look for it?
@@happyzillas1 On Facebook type Hector King Jr and click the black "H" and on my timeline or albums look for the book Impromptu. The title is, "Gravely Experience"...
@@hectorkingjr Thanks!
Run down, drug infested, welfare capital, tons of Indian reserves, sad, bland, and majorly depressing... pretty much sums up this place.
LIved here for 50 years,The city is trash but leave the city limits and it is so wonderful. And we are up to 120,000 because we bring in people from remote areas and try to help them have a better life but it dosent benefit anyone. it seems once these people arrive nobody provides any guidance to them and the homeless population increases. So sad
