I've always been a fan of the BMW estates + the Alpina cars. The D3 /D4 etc. The 340d, from what I have heard, is exactly as you say........crazy fast, great MPG and looks subtle. Great cars but sadly I have not had the chance to drive one only admire them. Hopefully I can drive one in the future if someone on my channel would be able to lend me one 👍
Just about to hand my 1.0 ecoboost focus st line back in the next couple of months. Its been a decent wee car but certainly lacked that quality feel. As I’m now leasing it gives me the opportunity to try out different brands. Would ideally have liked a 3 series 320i M sport for my next car but not quite within the budget im preprared to pay so going to try the 1 series 118i M Sport. Granted not the prettiest looking car but its got a much nicer premium looking interior and a few extra toys as standard. Got a cracking lease deal on it so looking forward to it. Its crazy how times have changed though. My 7.5 R brand new cost me £28k, the list price of the 118i is approx £33k. 😮😮
Thank you for sharing your experience with the MK4 Focus! I agree, I cannot believe the price of cars these days it is just incredible......I am with you that leasing is likely the future (particularly with electric cars now) as even a fairly basic hatchback like this 1.5 TDCI is still £26K which in my math's makes is quite expensive. In reality compared to everything else its well priced 👍
@@SamAustin thanks Sam. Initially i hated the thought of not owning the car as all my previous cars were owned outright but the more i looked at it the more it made sense to me. With the R i became stressed out about the cost of running it daily commuting back and forwards to work and also piling on the miles massively reducing its sell on value (obviously all before second hand market values went crazy).
Got my 3rd focus today a 1.5 ecoblue diesel had a 65 reg 1 litre eco boost brilliant cars
On the 1.5 diesel whay sort of mpg you getting as I’m concidering one thanks
I've just picked up this hire car model. On a 70 mile round trip up A1. Maybe with 10 mile of urban thrown in, I averaged 79mpg. Staggering!
💪
hey man how is the car holding up, i am thinking to buy a used one with the same 1.5 diesel
@@lifeofranco I swapped it out for a hybrid Merc company car. Then wished I hadn't!
Have you tried a BWM M340d dirty diesel?
Quick, economical, quiet and smart looking 👌

It didn’t cost you £28k though did it you’ve spent 28k leasing someone else car only to hand it back after the term.
@@Thuds593you do realise that this comment is 3 years old and yes I did buy the Golf R. It was cars after that when I began to lease
Niceee
I can’t believe there’s no mk4 focus rs 😭
I know! I am gutted too 😪
