It is always great to see you and hear about your knitting and activities. My favorite snack is popcorn - I mix light sea salt with light kettle corn, so I have sweet and savory. It is also great because it is not too messy and I can eat as I am knitting. Winter is slowly turning to spring, and, like you, our daffodils and hellebores are blooming, and other plants and shrubs are starting to awaken. I had lunch with some friends that I met at the wellness center, and it was delightful. We have lunch about once a month, sometimes every other, depending on life. It was great to see them and catch up since Christmas. My eye is getting better, and I have been cleared to get on a plane, so our river cruise to The Netherlands and Belgium is a go. Stephen and Penelope, here I come! Wishing you a great few weeks of no pain and lots of fun and knitting! Cheers.

Great news about the eye and the go ahead for the cruise Delores. Have you warned the wool shop of your visit?😄
I don't eat popcorn very often, I like the toffee version and have yet to try a savoury one. They are very popular over here and some sell for high prices as small companies have dreamt up all sorts of strange flavours
I love Hellebores but Tom is not keen at all so I don't have any, and I'm sulking about it. He's not good at keeping borders in the garden mind you so unless they were in a pot they'd probably get mown over, just like my Japanese anemones 🙄
Your meeting with your friends sounds fun, I met up with Penny and Maggie yesterday and we had a good natter. I go to Wonderwool with Penny which I am already thinking about. xxx

It was also lovely to meet Bobby - he has a gorgeous expression! After seeing your earlier Instagram post of Bobby-in-the-making, I thought it was about time that I tried one of the MaryJane’sTearoom patterns… so my first bear is now just waiting to be assembled… My favourite snack is hot (toasted) buttered cinnamon raisin loaf - or malt loaf with honey. Oh no, I think you should have a prize for the least attractive snack in the whole world Christine 😂😂

I don't eat many nuts Sue, I do like them in chocolate bars mind you. Growing up we really only had them at Christmas. Mom used to slam them with a brick, talk about brute force 😄
If you win then stationery would be a good alternative as I might have a fair bit stored here, it seems to arrive when I see sales at certain websites. Don't ask me how many pens or rolls of washi tape I have 🙄
I'll definitely be using the untracked snail mail option with parcels from now on and it means things can be sent all over the world which is better when I'm offering a prize 😍

Some lovely makes and what a super cute Bobby teddy! None of us are perfectly straight so he looks about right to me. My favourite items to snack on is fruit. I will demolish a punnet of grapes and then realise that though they are ‘good’ for you, that’s about 400 calories 😣

Fruit is something I've always struggled to eat. I do enjoy the Thompson grapes when M&S have them in. And I also love English plums and cherries when in season. But whatever quantity you eat it's still better than over processed food like crisps and chocolate bars. xxx

Hi Anne. Its great to see the numbers going up. Love your 80's 'big hair' perm that we all had and I loved perms. There were a few disasters too. Yes the pain meds are stressful for me now as our govt has decided to change the rules for pain and pain meds (pain being decided by youngish people who don't have chronic pain (yet). I have a big diagnostic procedure this wed and that's also stressful just thinking about it, and the diet days before. Hopefully I will be more positive soon. Sending hugs friend

Sorry to hear the stress you are under with your condition and pain meds Barbara. It must be so scary and worrying that you might not get the relief you need. I am on strong opioids and I know the guidelines say not to prescribe them as widely anymore here in the UK but everyone should be taken on their own merit. I hope the procedure went ok and that you are now recovering xxx

I love listening to your life updates 😀

I like a sour cream and chive or salsa dip but I can't cope with hummus, even though I like chickpeas. You are doing really well if you are managing to not eat chocolate. I have a snack size supermarket's own most nights so if I gave them up it would save me a whole day's calories in a week. 😲 xxx

What a treat on a bleak winter Sunday over here in Norway. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this 😊 Your Soundwave sweater is stunning, I love the way your colours blend into one another.
You mention that you have cold feet. I highly recommend hand knitted socks, especially in DK sock yarn. These are quicker to knit than 4-ply socks (there's a super easy free pattern on Ravelry: DK Weight Vanilla Socks by Crazy Sock Lady Designs). I wear mine all through the winter, couldn't have survived without them as floors get very cold here when it's sub-zero temperatures outside 🥶

      @spaknits  7 місяців тому +1

I don't knit socks myself as you know Trudi (I'm too lazy)
I get Mom and one of the lovely ladies on here to knit them for me 😄 but I do wear handknitted wool socks every day of the year.
They tested the circulation in my legs about 30 years ago and concluded that the feet were just not getting enough blood to them. I've tried wheat bags, hot water bottles, brandy (drank, not rubbed in) and some night only going to bed works. It's very annoying.
I'm definitely not moving to a colder country anytime soon xxx

Hi Anne. I love the two jumpers you are knitting. The yarn looks so soft. It's a shame we don't have more photos of our knitting from the past, but film was precious wasn't it and only tended to be used for high days and holidays. Glad the doctor is sorting your medication out. I hope the blood test comes back clear. I seem to have replaced craft supplies buying with book buying, I've ordered 3 this month! I've listened to a few books on Borrowbox but our library doesn't seem to have much available whenever I look. But I agree, the wrong narrator can really put me off.
Which reminds me that I started listening to The Thursday Murder Club, the first Richard Osman book, narrated by Lesley Manville, a well known actress. But she read it in such a simpering voice and I couldnt carry on. I read the actual book a few months later

Hillers has expanded a lot over the years. There's even a small train over the back in the summer for the children.

After an outing I am fair the following day but the day after that is the worst. That is when the aches and pains start. As I don’t go out often it is what it is 😉I adore white rum in my coffee as a treat. Coconut rum is especially good. It is a holiday treat usually. A bottle will do 2 years as a rule lol. Does it lose anything after being open that long? I have never noticed it, if it does. Snack would be dark chocolate. It is intense so a square out of a dark chocolate bar does the trick. So pleased to hear they changed up your meds. Hope they work better. I recently was told by my doc to add acetaminophen to my other meds. Just a little extra to help time will be changing back here in Canada on March 10. Longer days means more sunshine. ☀️

It is good to know your own body Karla. You can then plan what and when you do things more safely.
I might try that coffee rum in my afternoon coffee today. You do well to make a bottle last 2 years.
I always have paracetamol (acetaminophen) with my drugs because there is evidence that it boosts the effectiveness of the opioid. Just as long as you keep an eye on how many in 24 hours and it doesn't stay in the system.
Our clocks go forward the last weekend in March. Hooray. It doesn't mean better weather mind you but let's pretend it might 😄xxx
