Thank you for creating and sharing this content. I always enjoy and learn from your videos, enjoy more when you both are fishing. I still haven't found the right motor for my little boat to leave the backwaters and try the main channel. This video along with 1 this spring explaining boat positioning around wing dams will be the vast majority of information I will count on when I do navigate the main channel of the Mississippi. Thanks again. TIGHT LINES ALL
They are so pretty in the fall. We had a couple spots when we had hoopnets out for bullheads where we got almost more bluegills than bullheads. A hundred orange, blue and green bluegills on the floor. They were schooling in an old creekbed where it cuts through an island. They all went back in, we kept the bullheads.
@@AnglerX Yes, Pool 9 just north of Ferryville. We fished hoopnets in the summer for catfish, with bait, but in the fall the bullheads all migrate into the backwaters, and we just caught them on their way through, no bait or anything. Sometimes they would be so full of bullheads we broke hoops trying to roll them into the boat. There is a definite technique. we had a fishmarket and baitshop just north of Ferryville when I was young but then Dad got big into fishing inland lakes under contract with the DNR and the market fell to the wayside. I's kinda sad that all the commercial fisherman have died out. All the sloughs and backwaters in the pool have names and all that knowledge is all but lost.
You convinced me to switch to hi-vis line a few years ago and it's really improved my fishing. However, I think that Stren hi-vis has been discontinued. There's still some old stock available, but one spool that I bought was "dry rotted" and broke easily. I just got some Sunline to see how it performs.
I'm new to fishing the Mississippi river and am learning a lot from your videos! It looks like you use hi vis line for all types of fishing. What are you using for Walleye and Bass fishing?
Another great video. Have you tried using a drop shot? I had some success using it on the gills last fall when they were holding deep so I was less concerned about a slow drop presentation.
American life style. Love to see you out on water enjoying your life with wifey .fish on keep it up you 2
😊Thank you!
The contest was a fun way to stay out longer to fish.

Sounds like a cool experience! Was this on the Mississippi River? Bluegills come in a variety of colors, all beautiful.

@@damondiehl5637I’d love to see hoop need run by someone that knows what they’re doing. Dabbled but nothing like an old river rat

I've been getting it off amazon.
Oh that’s not good. I believe Trilene has a hi-vis mono.

@@jonmurray4761 When pitching jigs for walleye I use 8lb hi vis monofilaments. My bass setups have braid, 50lb for frogging, 15lb for open water.
Here I am in Mcgregor and you didn't come get me again! Lol
😊sorry
Nice video. Which Lund boat model are you using? Keep up the good work.
We’re fishing out of a 1625 Lund Fury XL.
I can smell 10k!!!!
So close!

Thank you for the tip. TIGHT LINES
I haven’t used drop shots but it’s definitely an effective way to catch these fish.
Well I would say if lance has 4 lb test which sinks faster than 6 lb test then nikki should have a 1.5 fish handicap right?
😆 we’ll have to level the playing field next time.
Sent you a email sir. For some reason
My comments don’t stay up
That’s strange. You should be receiving a letter in the mail.
