As someone whos carried an all copper/leather EDC since 2017, I was stoked to find this video. The weight is definetly something to consider but the wear/tear all your items get makes it worth it to me!

I have become a bit of a hoarder of brass EDC items the last few years. I have the same big idea design pen, in brass. I have a rambler with brass scales (I think I got that because of your videos). I have a small o-light brass flashlight, its about the same size as the swiss army, just rounder. Both of those are in a leather wallet I made. And then a Vosteed Corgi for the knife, has green micarta scales with brass inserts. I just think it all looks pretty, and makes me happy. I have been binging your videos while I work from home today, so thanks for the entertainment!

@@MarcusCreates that's awesome! I really like it, it's a little different but nice and symmetrical, I like that. But, when I tried to open it like a front flipper for the first time, I did cut myself. Took all of 30 seconds after opening the box. So you know, be careful!
Copper is too expensive for me, but I have a classic EDC with:
- Victorinox Classic SD alox Wet Sand.

Love the video! Most of my edc is copper, but I agree, copper scaled knives are very heavy. So instead I go with brown or orange micarta to keep the color similar, and look for ones that have copper accents in the hardware. Peña Apache is my daily go to.

Copper passes through security scanners without causing a ruckus (at least in Europe)
I personally prefer a plain black or dark grey color for my EDC stuff, but a nice copper pen for the (home) office does have its charms.
Each to their own. I can see how a fully blacked out EDC setup could be great

A lot of folks are living titanium EDC at the moment. To be honest, I don’t love the feel of titanium but will have a look at what’s out there.

I used to carry some copper items in my EDC rotation but switched to brass instead.
From the pros and cons perspective it’s nearly the same. But brass goes better with bronze and gold tones. So, it’s easier to carry with some watches in my collection. And I got a few lucky coins made from bronze and brass.
Another con for copper might be the smell. Some people won’t like it.

Yeah. I only discovered it myself when I was researching for this video. Another reason to carry copper. ☺️
Brass is also antimicrobial / antibacterial because of the copper in brass. So I like brass items like brass pens, carabiners, knife handles (like on QSP penguin), etc. I personally like the patina look on brass, so I stick with it. I don't mind the heavier weight at all. Actually, it makes me feel like it is worth more, as it has solid substantial type of feel. How light titanium is makes me feel like it's cheap, even though I know it's not. 🤔😁
You're right on with the Refyne pens. I opted for polished titanium and copper barrel. Waiting on the black stand to come in for a review🤘

Great video. I got excited about fountain pens again from watching your videos. For wallets I really like the look and probably would like the feel of a full leather wallet like the Bellroy. But since I started using a SECRID Slim Wallet I can no longer imagine carrying a wallet without a quick release card sliders. Have you every tried one of those?
I’ve used the Secrid wallet. I could never get past the feel of hard aluminum in my front pocket. Doesn’t feel personal evening for a wallet. But in terms of functionality, quick access etc you can’t beat them.
Kaweco liliput is one of the best pocket pens out there. Perfect clipped into a small wallet.

I'm a fan of the items you showed off! I EDC a brass fountain pen (Kaweco Sport), and I love the patina it's acquired over the last year. Do you have a preference between copper and brass?
I prefer copper for the color. I just love how it tarnishes.

Tomoe River. It’s Japanese paper and pretty expensive for a notebook but I’ve fallen in love with the thin paper that doesn’t bleed through and it’s all I use. amzn.to/3T1UuP2
@@MarcusCreates thanks! i've been using the credit card sized rite in the rain and looking for other options. price is not bad. Simlar size LEUCHTTURM1917 is a few dollars more (I use their 5yr Journal but it somewhat bleeds with a pilot V razorpoint fineliner)

Depends. I like the fine but the medium is certainly more smooth

Copper and brass are both beautiful carry options; however, I'm very weight and size sensitive. Oddly enough, many of my items are stainless steel due to the thinness of stainless over titanium. Nice little fountain little pen.

@@MarcusCreates Ha! Yeah, its like a genetic mutation or something. Some people can smell and taste metal, some cant. Myself and my daughters can, my wife cant. Thats why copper EDC stuff always kind of grosses me out. Weird defect I guess.

@@MarcusCreates Yeah, it does. Its weird. And only certain types. Steel from knives, aluminum from flashlights, doesnt bother me. Copper and brass, I hate it. I can smell it on my hands and its awful.
