I went to my first drag race at Lion's dragstrip in Long Beach California, came into the strip a Chevy fan, by the time I left, I was a Mopar fan and have remained one for 50 years after that. As the saying goes, it's Mopar, or no car.
not only is this a killer video and it brings us back to super stock racing from all makes..les mayhew is the best he understands drag racing, racing fans and the history we love and are making
i remember that sharp left turn from the staging area to the starting line very well. hello to all my old friends from "Quad City Raceway", ed betts, randy ohda, carl geil, ray modert, gene rockman [RIP], the guys from galt, ray statz, and many more i have forgotten. i raced there many times in the early and mid 60s. Awesome! These cars are from when cars were made to be real cars. When the big 3 cared about turning out competitive products that drove right, were built right, and looked good. Now all you get to buy is a piece of plastic that doesn't last.
This is exciting drag racing. NHRA pro classes...top fuel, funny car, pro stock...have no variety, no brand recognition. Nothing relatable anymore. I could watch these cars race all day long.
I love super stock and comp elimanator I use to watch the rod shop c/gas anglia whip the hole show at trails midwest balance cars jegs fight it out virgel cates and dick shroyor destroyor and freddy hurst and ohio George to my daddy spoiled me haha
The way you edited this video was absolutely awesome. Really brought the suspense up. So much better than the typical drag racing video.

Some spectacular engine/bullet/jewel shots there. Then some great action too. Really well done clip!
