Would be really cool to see something from petal runner in 3D low poly, the bike might be a little much but maybe some of the little monsters or something : ) or some of the gadgets, that might be kinda equivalent to the pokedex or pokeball you already made! That might be more manageable
These models are so cute. I made a detailed pokedex in blender once and it was a chore but turned out decent. I like when you take us along with your learning
Low Poly Pixelart is underrated (iirc it's treated as its own medium). I love seeing it up close, crisp, and unapoligetic like many 3DS/PSP titles. Heck, even Gen 5 of Pokemon used it as a hybrid style and the backgrounds that are Low-Poly Pixelart are gorgeous when you remove the blur filters. I wish more games utilized it with crisp detail!
It seems like you already figured this out, but for those wanting to create smoother animations such as the 360 turnaround, it's usually a good idea to set the last keyframe one frame ahead of when the animation stops, or instead of rotating the model 360 degrees doing so by 359 degrees. If you simply have it stop on the same rotation as it started on, you'll have two identical frames right at the loop point, creating a slight stutter that makes the loop more obvious. I'm not sure if Blockbench has some sort of system in place to deal with that on its own, but in other programs like Blender, it's a good thing to keep in mind.
Great tutorial! I found this very helpful! Can you do a tutorial on low poly skirts? Also I have some animation advice. The poke ball is spinning in the air like a bay blade. It should be spinning in a way where the top and bottom colors are flipped. That’s because most of the time it’s throw like a base ball. Then you should add more key frames and mainly adjust deceleration. Because default it always looks mechanical and lack the uneven way things fly through the air. I’d watch why attack of the clones looks like a video, for a more detailed explanation. Sorry for the big comment.
Are there any general techniques/approaches that can be consistently followed with low poly texturing if you want to ensure that all your models end up with similarly scaled texture maps for a cohesive scene? I'm thinking for example about a player character compared to a large building structure, etc. This is something I've always struggled to get my head around
Hello, Quick Question. On your general Pixel art Animation videos, what app do you use? I'm wanting to make a little sprite to overlay on some videos but cant find a good animation app. cheers!
Hello there. Can i send you a Video from my Game im working on ?and you can say me whats the most important part to Work on? ... Critique? ^^❤ would be cool i Love your stuff
I feel like the one thing that pikachu dance needs for a finishing touch is just a bit of stretch and squash to add some extra energy to the animation. These are so fun to see, though. I love how the bright colour palette comes out on the crt
Blockbench is such an incredible tool to learn 3D modelling and animation with, wish I'd known about it sooner but I'm so glad I saw your videos on it regardless! I had tried learning with Blender but that took hours of tutorials to get me very little progress, whereas Blockbench was limited enough I could just jump straight in. I wonder what kinds of effects you could achieve if rather than moving existing model pieces, you also "redrew" pieces as you might with 2D animation. Maybe turning a leg into a big rectangle for a frame or two for a smeary run cycle, or morphing the geometry on a cape for a chunky glitchy wave effect.
That's a great idea, it'd be interesting to have various pieces ready that could be 'hotswapped' on the model; that sounds like a good way to make dynamic facial expressions as well. Gonna have to keep playing around!
I can’t follow your tutorials Brandon, I have exams!!!😭 In all seriousness, your tutorials got me into Blockbench and I keep pulling away from my studies to make models. Could you please do a UV mapping tutorial? I can’t quite figure it out and constantly end up with colourless models.
So still can't find a great answer. Can we really only export as a gif? Is there zero video formats or modes? If not it's a shame. Especially with the animated camera plugin
I really like blockbench because of its simplicity, I just wish they would add bone rigging and better uv mapping and Im sure it will become the best go to software modeling low poly and ps1 style models.
Amazing progress in the 3d series, the animations look really good and you do a great job at keeping the workflow easy to follow along to! It's really satisfying to see how every little action has a large impact on the result in this tutorial 🤩 Really enjoyed the results too, I like how the Pokedex opens ✨ That Pikachu animation is really fun too!!
Thanks, I appreciate that! Animation with 2D pixel art already has its challenges, so stepping into 3D animation feels like a whole new intimidating thing, but I'm excited about being able to do more with the program and this style. And it definitely makes for a fun CRT Time! 🥳
@@traumatizedgeworth How much time have you got? 😂 In a nutshell, I thought the world-building was inconsistent. Most people ignored but it just bugged me throughout. 🤷

I have never heard of this software before! This is actually amazing for me! I'll be downloading it soon to try it out! Also, awesome work with the animations. They look pretty good!

This is gonna be a great series.

Love pixel art & low poly!
WHAT LUCK!!! I’ve just discovered blockbench and am a beginner I was just thinking I need an animation tutorial !!!
Chat is this real a hearted comment from BJG himself ??!!
Super cool! Would LOVE to see an animation of the pokeball being thrown and catching the pikachu - with that signature lighting-like effect
Recently I got back into doing low-poly 3D modeling so this video couldn't have come at a better time!
You are such an inspiration
That's pretty dope.
Quite strong line up

For some reason, this reminds me of Data from Megaman 64/Legends! If I recall, he does a little dance.
Lol that intro animation though 😂
Ironically, there's a chance that actually required more effort than the sincere pokeball animations 😂
@@BJGpixel Oh no! Lol ain't that just the way it goes
Once Blockbench add audio capture to the Camera Plugin im gonna be unstoppable

OMG a 3D low poly Pokémon game with spinning menu objects like Tomb Raider would be amazing!
To anyone making this: Shut up and take my money!
I learnt the animation part but i dont know how to make it a video can anyone help please?
In the top bar there should be an option somewhere to record as a gif
Before having access to blender I used to make small animations on blockbench
This was in my search history last night 😅
Thank you
The small delay with the ears following the rest of the head is a nice touch.
Thanks for noticing! Turned out to be a great model to mess around with for stuff like that ✨
you're an actual hero for this, heck yeah
Thanks for the tutorial, looks great! I wonder though, how did you achieved the smooth shaded look around 6:28?

cool c: I love the style
if you could make that in blockbench then you should be able to put them in minecraft. that would be so cool
