There Are Thousands of Cats Inside Cat ‘Mewseum’

- Shawn Redner of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, has turned his home into Redner’s Rescued Cat Figurine ‘Mewseum.’ Thousands of statues, pictures, and decorative plates decorate this home. Hundreds of visitors have come to the cat museum since it opened in 2021. Redner says 100% of the donations to the Cat Museum are given to feline rescues. So far, they’ve given about $3,000. And if you’re wondering, Redner has 10 real cats in his home.

@@missandry2669 Yes, theres so much stigma as a "crazy cat lady." Hope one day everyone can enjoy the company and compassion of cats without being stigmatised. Nothing more cherish-able than the love and trust of a cat.
@@missandry2669 how? My my neighbor has 18 cats and the whole community gets together to be with them and feed them. She’s an older lady so it’s hard for her but we help her

I keep seeing some people commenting about him being a hoarder. There is a huge difference of being a hoarder and a hobbyist/collector. Being a hoarder means collecting varieties of garbage and junk that may has no or little value to it while it keeps piling up overtime to the point where it is hazardous and not livable, since the hoarder mentally cannot throw things away as it keeps them away from having a clean, healthy, livable environment (such as piles of dirty used old diapers, piles of smelly foul food scraps, useless broken things, dirty raggy torn up clothes, dirty dishes, newspapers from 1900s, etc., like imagine a junkyard and garbage dump inside a home of day to day things that should be gone or thrown away.) Did I mention how hazardous their homes could be that makes it not safe to live because of the harmful odor, bad bacteria, diseases, rats, and bugs? I don’t see any with this guy! This guy is none other than being a cat hobbyist/collector who wants to share with others and doing something great with it. This is coming from me, as a private collector/hobbyist of Pok’e Mon, Beanie Babies, and anime.

There is a FINE LINE between being a hoarder and a hobbyist/collector.

I would say he's a hoarder; but everything is clean, and in place. I love his shirt, and tattoos. I'm glad that he seems to be doing okay, and hopefully more people visit his mewseum.

There's a difference between having a collection you share with the world and being a hoarder though. I mean technically is is "hoarding" cat stuff but most hoarders don't want anyone in their home. He isn't just picking up anything and everything that is not nailed down either, he has a very specific type of item in mind. I do wonder how this affects his daily living having his home covered in cats and with 10 cats I can imagine some of that stuff gets knocked down often. He needs a bigger place for sure, I am not convinced he is an actual hoarder like the kinds of those shows but I definitely do have some questions for sure. As long as his hobby isn't bringing himself or anyone else harm then more power to him if he wants his whole home done up in cats. I think he should save some proceeds and try to get a bigger place!!

i would love to visit this mewseum one day. so much thought, money, planning, and effort has been thrown into this project to make others from around the world happy. a simple hobby turned into a place of admiration to make this present year so much better. i do wonder if he takes donations !
