How refreshing to see a documentary that shines such positive light on Yoko. I wrote her years ago about how much I admired her and how I lamented how poorly she was treated. She wrote me back thanking me for the email. I was touched.
What an actress! I'm so glad we met! She stalked him, and hung around him and never gave up till he went with her. As though they 'just met' ........... She wanted him to elevate her career, thought she could sing and still does! No-one would let her near a mic or recording studio without Lennon. Saying she had not heard of the Beatles only Ringo cos it is Japanese for apple is tosh. If she heard of Ringo, then she would have heard of the Beatles, as he was only mentioned in context with being part of them.
Thank you so much !!
IMHO: Peter Jackson Get Back documentary proved this belief wrong. The Beatles didn't break up and weren't annoyed by Yoko Ono. They were very accepting of her and Paul later brought Linda and her daughter to the Let it Be recordings and they all had a lot of fun. If the Beatles broke up because John wanted to do his own work. Yoko as any supportive partner, back him up and encouraged him to do it. With the Beatles, John was doing what the Beatles and the public wanted. Yoko brought more of John out of John and he seemed grateful to her for that.
"never again would I create a relationship so strong that it would affect my life when I lose it."... she said it at 26:00. i infer that would include Lennon. she was having affairs at the time of his passing and moved Havadtoy in rather quickly. [funny how they left that out].
You are so right. There has been a lot of massaging of Yoko's image and this documentary attempts to do just that. In return for getting exclusive access to her ( a coup which would guarantee viewership) a creampuff piece of journalism was created to remake her a likeable person. But anyone familiar with her knows the truth about Yoko.
@@creativeblunder Nah, she destroyed herself with some of THE most embarrassing moments in rock & roll history. A narcissist of unparalleled dimension who took the shine of Beatles glory and focused that spotlight on herself.

@@adamjames5027 True enough, but five is somewhat different from 13 -- you've been pretty socialzed by then. But my point was that you couldn't really say she was "from" England -- it's misleading and maybe confusing in this case, if viewers know otherwise. Wasn't nitpicking; just wanted to help.
Yoko is such a doll...and Im so sorry that I didn't even give her a chance back in the day. We all evolve and I certainly have evolved. Yoko is such an artist. What made me upset with yoko was how she treated Julian when it came to John's MONEY, and THINGS, if she did the right things she wouldn't be hated. Even though things turned out fine with Julian, still it all could have been easy to just share John's things and money with Julian... or with whoever. It's not like she would be struggling...smh... that's what still gets me like..aggg with her. Otherwise she seemed alright a good mum, a passionate artist, as an artist/ art teacher i respect her art. 👍🏻 Cheers😊

Very interesting. One perspective. Nevertheless, I never could stand her and I still view her as a narcissistic fraud. Of course I loved John Lennon, but we know more about his flaws than we did 8n the day. It doesn’t ultimately matter, but eff Yoko ono.
If you want to blame Yoko for the Beatles breaking up, then you can also credit her for launcing the very successful solo careers of Paul, George, Ringo and John.

Yoko is a truly remarkable woman, I look up to her a lot. To me she symbolizes resilience and individuality and independence.
Thank you for posting this programme! There's one major thing I've learned from Yoko, it's resilience. I have so much respect for Yoko.
Yoko Ono Gave Many Inspiration To John Lennon.
Yoko Ono is Amazing and Amazed John Lennon.
La resiliencia en este caso fue una pérdida de tiempo... pues no logró cantar 😊

I really love the second half of this in which we see the early years of Yoko as a widow. Really special footage of her resilience.
This is amazing Yoko and John
JOHN AND YOKO WILL ALWAYS BE A BEAUTIFUL COUPLE TO ME
I like this documentary, it’s more personal than others. It’s about John Lennon & in life & his lover, not the Beatles or the killing .
Mom Yoko Ono I love you Angela xxx
They understood each other.(Thus is just my opinion,of course!].I mean,John Lennon and Yoko Ono(Lennon)understood each other.
Her strength is incredible 😭🙏😍
Yoko is truly amazing
Love this
She is so glamorous, it was surprising she didn’t have pierced ears! John loved her because she is a natural beauty.
I think you need to see an optometrist.

I think you missed how irritated yoko made everyone in the band, especially Paul. It’s nuanced, but pretty obvious
No band could last forever. Four boys grew up. They were under the most unique pressure ever. Who could be normal with a life like that? 🤎

Yoko I thank God you and Sean have each other
Yoko had a new boyfriend within a year of John's death, possibly even months
She was having an affair with Sam Havadtoy months before John was killed.
Yucko moved Sam into the Dakota the night after Lennon got killed.

At 3:50 - Lene Lovich is from Detroit, nowhere near England. OK, she moved there at 13, but still. Accuracy counts.

I used to hate her as a kid, now as an adult i love her music and creative artistic projects
Her music improved a lot over time, especially her singing.
24:05 This was the spot where Annie Leibovitz took the Rolling Stone Magazine cover. She had John nude, hugging Yoko on the floor.
Famous for being just before he died.
