  • Izumo Taisha is one of the oldest shrines in Japan, which is mentioned in the oldest existing Japanese history books, "Kojiki" and "Nihon Shoki". According to mythology, Izumo Taisha Shrine was built by the gods as the place where "Okuninushi no Okami" lived. It is famous as a shrine that even the emperor cannot enter. According to a legend from Japanese mythology, only Izumo no Kuni Tsukuri family, whose ancestor was Amanohohi no Mikoto, the son of Amaterasu Omikami, is the chief priest of Izumo Taisha.

    一説によれば、もしかしたら現天皇家より古い王家の神社である。
