  • Learn how to make a piping bag out of parchment paper. You’ll learn how to fold parchment paper triangles into disposable decorating bags that are a great use-and-toss option. Parchment paper pastry bags are perfect for cake decorating, especially piping small details, fine lines, writing without a tip, stringwork and for whenever small amounts of royal icing, buttercream or melted candy are needed.
    Tips:
    - To use a decorating tip, cut 3/4 in. off the end of the bag and drop it in.
    - Don’t overfill your bag, 1/2 full or less is best.
    - It’s easier to use pre-cut parchment triangles.

    Big thumbs up!
Finally, a video that goes slow enough that you can follow along with it.
Most videos whip through the motions so quickly that it's a blur when you pause it. But you go slow enough that someone can look back and forth between the video and what they are doing.
Sorry I can give only one thumbs up (I'd give more if I could)

Tip! Don’t fold in, fold the M outwards, so when you put in the icing it doesn’t demolish your flap! Also when you’re using the tip to fill it up with icing, Make sure to hold it by the notch to ensure it doesn’t become undone, the fold the top corners into the middle, then roll it downwards. This will ensure your icing doesn’t go everywhere while piping

@@user-bf2zd3io9y yup. I was just going to say, don't fold it outwards. Folding inwards keeps it from coming apart. I do agree with folding it down after filling it up though. My mom made wedding cakes from home and I used to watch her as a kid.

My late mom went thru culinary school by the Marine Corps. She could fold these in a flash. I tend to use the plastic piping bags or reusable; hwr, it really is nice to know how to make them like this. Despite growing up w a mom who made these regularly, I still have to refresh to remember how. lol

    • @worldofrajeev

You don't need to measure the square to cut the triangle from it... just make a medium sized square and work to make a triangle, this method worked for me :)
