- Whitefish Montana is a resort town located in the Northwestern United States just south of the Canadian border. This is a WhiteFish Montana travel guide that was completed in June 2021. We explore around the Whitefish river the lake and the downtown Whitefish area. We also show a little bit around the Colombia Falls area near Glacier National Park

I fly out of Kalispell all the time; inexpensive parking, great vehicle service, and always stay another day or two upon return. You clear the border and you're inside the USA, so everything is easy. I walked from the airport and couldn't step out onto the highway without people stopping and asking if I wanted a ride into town (it's six miles). That's NW Montana hospitality.
Thanks for sharing. I grew up in Whitefish. What an incredible place to have spent my formative years, although it has changed dramatically since the late 60’s & early 70’s. Still have family there and I still go back to visit for a week or two most summers. 😃
Now that's real living !
Same thing happened here in Highlands NC.. invaded by Atlanta, Texas, SC, and Florida..I’m sorry but I’m fleeing my once small quite town and moving there.. Whitefish/Kalispell.. I promise ..I’m only bringing Country values and respect and admiration for the wilderness I love..
Can confirm. I lived in Montana for 6 years. Whitefish was literally a 15 minute drive away. I actually worked at a restaurant called piggyback barbecue. You won’t find better bbq in that town. God I miss it so damn much
Better one is that barbecue run by that old Tony.
In my youth, Montana and Idaho land was incredibly inexpensive. Not any more. I live in Sandpoint, Idaho; my family is from Montana and Idaho.
Surprised you didn't show a visit to a local pub or restaurant! That's one thing we LOVE about your episodes! Keep up the great content!
Oddly enough this was supposed to be a 22 minute upload. And for some reason it only uploaded 7:24 of the video and I just caught it. Whoops. That’s no bueno. Well the glacier video will be longer for sure
Totally agree
Prime rib and buffets and great service all over the area. I come down from Canada and fly out of Kalispell; it's a lot easier and straight forward. And I stay at least a couple of days; great local people.
Beautiful place.
Christmas in Whitefish.......beautiful
Thanks for sharing. Looks like an amazing place to live
amazing place i love montana
Thanks for the interesting and informative video.
I visited Whitefish a couple years ago and LOVED it!
Nice! I want to visit Whitefish 😊
Can’t just blame out of town buyers - greedy opportunistic sellers ruin it as well.
Thank you I love it here I live here lol
This small town looks so cute. I am planning to visit whitefish in January :) Thank you for posting, this was very helpful!
I'm going in December and staying at the lodge. I'm hoping to not get screwed out of it this year like I did last year due to covid restrictions. Hope everything stays normal for you!
How was your trip? Lol
It’s very wealthy town and very very lovely!!!
@Jake S yes I am and thank you so much.
@Jake S haha. I’m 100% Italian thank you very much and next time don’t be so judgmental on people skins colors from a photo. Never assume😉
I am indigenous Montagnard Jarai live in North Carolina love to visit there one day
Seems peaceful place to live.
What a calm and beautiful place
Nice place to visit..
Que lugar lindíssimo!Deus abençoe
Seems like a wonderful small town. 💛 I plan to visit Whitefish.
i grew up in whitefish, moved to california as a teenager and finally made it out at 36
i wanted to go back to whitefish so bad but i heard that too many Californians already moved there so i chose a place in the black hills of south dakota instead
No, Californians and Hollywood types are in the expensive third homes they own on the lake, but they're not there often. But this area IS expensive and always has been: you either own a clear title ranch five generations deep OR a govt. well paid job, or you're on your own. Small population means service businesses are established and have the contracts. Even if you once lived in this area, it would be tough to come back w/o accumulated capital AND a career or Red Seal Trade.
good
America hoping to visit soon
What a relaxing and fun place :)
Exactly 💯💯
M'y Dreams visit montana
nice video wish u go fishing
The real estate prices he quoted are off a bit. It is 2 years later, but the median sold home price is $493k, the median listing price is $796k. My brother's house doubled in price in about 2 years. My wife and I were looking at land way out of town (I am from there) about 4 years ago. It was 20 acres for 80k. there were 7 lots available. It was too remote for us because we know what the winter is like....lol......someone from California offered $150,000 cash without ever having seen the property. Of course it was accepted. The other listings were removed a day or two later. They went back up a week later for $140k each. All I have to say is that the tweekers will steal your generator out there if you are not home to protect it, and the roads are not plowed in the winter. It is also a high fire risk area and the insurance companies started pulling out of that area about 2 years ago. Good luck......lol
Californian... lol thank you for exploring the whitefish montana!!
sick of it. i wish it was the town i knew..... so many people now. sad.
Great video. What's your favorite restaurant in Whitefish?
So depressing.... I miss my old town. I don' t even go downtown anymore:-(
Why not?
@@RedRoseSeptember22 Yeah, why not? The downtown looks nice.
Prob covid
@@cathydrumobich9045 because it has been overrun by tourists, its not the same small town anymore, it's lost its charm and uniqueness. Once you start catering to just tourism, you lose it. Everything has become so expensive.
And if the tourism wasn’t bad enough, now they’re all moving here and driving up the housing costs. I was born and raised in Polson and I agree, it’s quickly overcrowding and losing its small town feel.
going here this july by amtrack train 29 hrs and 2mins there then 2 weeks spent her at a small ranch outside of town and then 29hrs 2mins back (asuming amtrack is not late) im gonna do my best to document the train ride at least.
😮
Ski here every year. Just saying Californian in Whitefish will raise eyebrows
I'd love to visit! I wonder where I could perform?
My cousin and her partner used to run The Quickee sandwich bar. Sadly I never got to visit, or get a free sandwich! 🤣🤣
We don’t have room for all the tourists
Oh hi
@@willvanaatta2900 lol hi
the town looks great the people look weird . would hope that they are friendly in whitefish
Hey I have watched your early hawaii videos. Its nuts that your In my town. Stop at Markus foods and the Remington bar
Don’t go to Casey’s unless you want to get drugged
@@HannieLea good to know...
I saw ur Thialand vids!
Kinda reminds me of hope county from far cry 5
Fall's end
What a charming town! And I can understand you all not wanting Californians moving there. I’m a born and raised Californian. (Senior). Don’t worry, I’m not moving that way 😉But housing here is so incredibly expensive that very very few can afford to buy. An 1100 sq ft home built in the 1960’s is about a million! Here’s a thought, tho, most “Californians weren’t born here, but came here from all over the country and where I live, all over the world. 🤷♀️
Good place to live?
What was that big stream/river you were kayaking down?
At :11
@@blairetoch8028that is the Whitefish river ~ it runs right through the town.
Im from greatfalls mt so am i welcomed to move up there because I want to so bad
People fleeing Cali for Idaho and Montana are causing the prices to spike up! 😢
Regarding the average home price in Whitefish being $300k - No. average home price is $799,000, and you’d be hard put to find anything that cheap.
I this town call whitefish
Your kind of voice could be for a country singer
Whitefish is home to White advocate and organizer of the 2017 Charlottesville March: Richard Spencer
Since you know all about it, thanks in advance for not visiting!
@@milesfrank6802 I'm surprised you opt for ignorance over knowledge. Not many people will admit to favoring less info over more. I would want to know who my neighbors are.
You are the one opting out for less info, non whites do alot more harm to society and human rights, why not complain about that?
@@wednesday567 🤣 You’re being bred out 🤣🤣🤣
@@mailamakua602 you're right, that's why we never run out of food
amazing how us Californians get blamed for the expensive real estate and crowding in every other state in the US. lol. we must all be billionaires with 20 offspring each.
As someone who grew up in South TX, its silly. One of the reasons I left TX is the incredibly toxic mob mentality of angry conservatives, and I'm much more right leaning than not. It's all "Point my finger at him instead of finding out whats wrong"
People are going to move where they're going to move. Every 100 years or so a kind of migration happens. And these people are the ones whos ancestors pushed the natives out, bloody murder and genocide and complain when tax paying people move there who probably do more for the planet than they do. So dumb
California , just leave California in California
I agree the people are shit and ruin everything
People move around....anyone leaving a place to live somewhere else is normal ...humans are nomadic.
California is one of the most populated state in the country.
Thank you for doing this video also please go back to Phoenix arizona.
Aka about Is central and thomas area
3300’ isn’t really considered high elevation. 😂
It’s easy to blame Californians for increased home prices. Californians have to deal with the entire world and large companies like Blackrock buying up our properties. Count yourself lucky that your homes are increasing in value.
Wish I could purchase a house to visit but idk how mid west Americans would treat an Arab.
the people there seem cold and non-inviting... just like LA
What was not mentioned is #1 that Whitefish Montana and especially the ski hill (Big Mt) is also the poorest snow quality in the state. Layers upon layers of different types of snow. Making it very hard to ski. #2 your wait time at all restaurants in the summer is usually a two hr wait. Doesn't matter which restaurant. #3 Us locals do enjoy you folks spending your tourist dollars here but make sure you go home. Don't move here. You'll truly hate it. The ignorance of those in California have already ruined our little town. It's ok!! We carry guns and they hate guns. Some have already moved from the area. They didn't realize it SNOWED here. That's how ignorant they are. Thanks for visiting!! Now go home!!
Hugs and kisses to y'all!
Not every visitor who chooses to move there will hate it lol. But thanks for the warning anyways :D
Keep spreading the message, you’re doing gods work lol. I can’t handle working in whitefish anymore
@@travisdeming9416 Yup! 14 years I too work and lived in Whitefish. Never again!! It's a sh*t hole now! I'm sorry but ...I can't be nice about it. Dipsh*t's from California have ruined that town like a plague. A plague of sTuPiDiTy...and the day will come when there's nobody to work in the hospitality industry.
@@travisdeming9416 so glad I moved out at age 15
Yes @Nicco Visconti You can’t stop it, just get involved and manage things. CO, OR, WA, ID, VERMONT, NH all fought this before MT did. I know for a fact some are standing up and fighting to keep Kalispell nice.
Hey everyone in public schools in Montana! You can change your cell phone Bluetooth broadcast to whatever you want go to general settings . I put teachers4trump2024
ImpeachBiden and Letsgobrandon
The lack of diversity is DEEPLY disturbing
I'll be there just as soon as I feel like I have two nickels to rub together.
If the Cali hipsters eff up WF like the do everything and everywhere else, heads will roll…
Would I be the only black person there?
are blacks welcomed ?
Why wouldn’t they be?
Just look at the inner cities
Leave your politics there in CA if you want to live here
I am a Native Texan and I consider Montana my second home. Both states have the same problem, Californians!
it's rich texas oil money that makes it expensive out there. stop blaming everything on california
Could you please improve your audio quality when your talking over your videos? Sounds boxy / cheap. Thanks for great youtube content.
Stop it California!!!
hope they left the trashy California politics in Cali and didn't mess up the values in Whitefish
I live in California and Californians ruined my town as well.
Going there looking for white peoples society 🤩
A very poorly done video
I lived there .
