I'm so glad that you didnt force yourself to finish. It's more than reasonable to discover a boundary while reading and then decide to keep yourself safe. I've listened to a few reviews of Haunting Adeline and I think that based on those that it's probably not my cup of tea either. Hoping that you find a book that is your cup of tea soon/next!!!

Thank you, yes mental health is always more important than a book, and it's also important to listen to your mind when things do make you uncomfortable, especially as reading is an escape especially for me! Totally understand why this book might not be for you!

If you want a funny read through, highly recommend Weirdo book club 's videos as she also points out all the issued with it.

I agree with u , the book is totally uncomfortable and so creepy . I couldn't even start reading it. The whole idea was totally messed up. thank you for this video. I enjoyed it so much while studying .

Totally get what you mean! I think it's so important to give all sides of the reading experience, good bad or otherwise, but I also love finding something good in every book 🥰 hope your studying was also productive!

I've yet to hear a positive review of this book that explains why it's good beyond "the mmc is hot and saves kids" meanwhile, I've seen several hours of why this books is problematic and potentially traumatizing. like, the problem isn't the book containing r*pe, it's that it's romanticizing and excusing it.

I wanted to understand why people love this part what you already said, and while the writing was good, super detailed and really immersive, it was the content that I struggled with in the end. Feel like this is one of those marmite books, you either love it or you hate it
