I could perfectly see that Völler broke his ribs by falling on the ball around min 22. From my point of view he fell on it and came around 20 cm up again. Must be painfull ;-)

What a coincidence, I was at that time 14! I saw the 90 wc quarterfinal against Holland , semifinal against England and final against Argentina,! The Qualifikation I did not see, at this time I wasn't so interested in football! That all past with the 1992 EC in Sweden, I not only saw all games of Germany,, but a bunch of other games at this EC! "

Being born in 92, I’d only ever heard of this team or read about it but actually watching them is soo eye opening. They are really good on the ball & build up so nicely, can mix it up & play rough when needed. I don’t know why I was under the impression they would play ugly football but complete opposite!

yes. he was for sure one of the fastest players in that era. he did athelics beside of football in his young years which was one of the reasons he was so fast (100m ~ 11,2 seconds which is very fast - even for today, faster than c.ronaldo). from technical side not great but very effective playing-style (has won the world cup, euro cup, championsleague and several others)

Germany wanted to revenge from Holland here because German lost Euro 1988 in Semi final 1-2 against Holland in Düsseldorf.
88 was revenge for 74 fir Holland. And more important WW2..

Holland was far betfer in those days than Germany. Beated them in EC 88 and 92 and lost in WC 90 only because there was so much tension and quarrel in the Dutch team.

The players wanted Johan Cruijff as their Coach, but the K.N.V.B. idiot leaders didn't like him and put others in that position. One of the many bad dicisions of the idiot leaders of the K.N.V.B. (always people who don't have a clue what is best for the game).
Yes, and because the grass had not the right shade of green. Moreover it was quite cold in the morning and in the night before the match it was very dark.
