Goodbye, Nik. You were one of a kind, and the world is a little less exciting without you.
our brother left his music for you , it will be hard not having live again
🐝🌈💫🌹
The Talisman himself, Nik Turner!! HAWKWIND & the HAWKWIND sound dramatically changed when Nik left in 84/85.
This concert shows how you can get BIG PRODUCTION quality without selling out to the global cabal! God bless Nik Turner ✌️😇
I new Nik very very well for 13 years been a huge part of my life Been a close friend and towards the end been around me more Looking after him at all of our festivals I hoping too go to his funeral on sat I really going too miss his giggles good times Thank you nik for the pleasure off being good friend I'm going too miss you Fly free thanks for your memories of music will live in me and so on and so on ❤️❤️😔
There was always something so very special whenever Nik performed the old Hawkwind numbers. He truly embodied that early Hawkwind spirit. Whether it was performing with Space Ritual or Hawklords. He is a LEGEND and will be sadly missed.
R.I.P. The Mighty Thunder Rider
"Hawklog 10th November 2022: Your co-pilot is dead."
Saw Hawkwind at Hammersmith Odeon, Sunday, February 9th, 1975. They were the first group I ever saw and they were fantastic.
Between 1971- 75, they couldn't put a foot wrong. Nik was an integral part of the group. "Brainstorm", "You Shouldn't Do That" and
"Masters Of The Universe" still remain great tracks. From all accounts, he was a very nice and civil gentleman who always had
time with the fans.
He is now dancing with the Children Of The Sun. A class act.
One of the greatest artists...he will be missed sorely.
This is as important to me as Hawkwind 's Space Ritual.
RIP Nik X
I was on that Tour doing the Lighting. RIP
I got to play your saxophone at a gig and i got to interview you , what a darling generous space man you were, i love ya nik, god bless...miss u
That was a fantastic live with musicians like Helios Creed ( Chrome), Del Dettmar, Pressurehed members and more...
In more recent years Nik made some of his best personal works ever. Rest in Space...
I had a jam with Nik a couple of times. Lovely bloke he was.
Rest in peace Nik. Thankyou for the music and memories. Forever in my heart and soul ❤️❤️❤️
RIP Nik Turner (aka the Thunder Rider)
May your spirit be flying high to somewhere special and beautiful in the cosmos.💚💙❤🙏🙏🙏🌠🌌🌈🪐🌟
RIP Nik. Met him a number of times and was always happy to talk about his life, loves and fears. Great person. Happy Trails Nik.
The Best Live album I've never heard.....until today that is ...on Bandcamp.I slipped into a trance, entering a new dimension....Envy those that actually caught this at birth.
I got to meet and hangout with Nik Turner. I was only 19 at the time during his Space Gypsy tour.
He made a young kid's heart happy. I grew up listening to Hawkwind, with posters on my wall of Nik. Thank you! I will never forget that as long as I live.
I saw this act in Baton Rouge in 1994 and 1995, and I saw Nik Turner's Hawkwind in New Orleans in 2015. As far as I am concerned, all three were Hawkwind concerts because the spirit of the original Hawkwind continued on with Nik Turner. Those are three of the best concerts I have ever seen. Nik knows how to put on a mind-blowing concert.
Back in the early 70's i saw the Hawkwind space ritual in Bradford and one of my main memories was seeing Nik onstage wearing a large space helmet and playing the sax to good effect. Within the scheme of the band he was a major player and a good front man. RIP Nik.
I bet that was a great gig , to see Hawkwind in the 70's .
@@-Atmos1 Never seen anything like it Liquid Len did the light show and the whole band including a young Lemmy were outstanding
That version of Master.. I seen it on this tour and it must have been close to 13 minutes. As a kid. Somethings stick with you deeply.
yeah nik was intricitly woven into my life , so giving out always jamming n mingling, ive lost a buddy and diamond part of my whole psyche had his vibe at its core
Just found out that Mr Turner has popped his clogs. Saw him several times (Hawkwind, Inner City Unit, Nick Turner's Allstars...) always under the influence.
Saw this tour in Denver at 7 South and Sleep opened the show. The musicianship of Nik's band was phenomenal, RIP NIK.
It's minding bending music for you.. Good for the soul ..the mind and ..the body ..Thank you NIK TURNER !
RIP Mr Turner..you were one of a kind
Off Nicky goes to the next journey, showed us how it’s done, Godspeed traveller
In Loving Memories
One of the Greatest Nik ❤
Whichever band I saw Nik in he made me laugh he made music unboring and interesting and fun I loved the connections he had with other bands especially the Damned just magic RIP NiK
Damned Damned Damned
@@oldmacdreadapexriddims1460 One of the most amazing, energetic punk rock albums ever...
The dance contests lol
Indeed. Captain Sensible playing on The Maximum Effect added a little extra magic for me when I found out.
My god the lost Hawkwind sound, I seen Space Ritual once, absolutely brilliant
Saw him with Hawkwind in the 70’s. He wore a day glow lizard costume
what a space man thanks for it all
Thank you Nik ..X Stay High. X
Nick war ein Genie. R.I.P.
Nik is a great performer to this day as an octogenarian.
Amazing Music. RIP NIK
RIP... Descansa en paz Nik... :(
Nik - thanks for the memories - Hawkwind, ICU, Space Ritual, Hawklords. Great meeting you a few years ago.
Had this on VHS and saw this tour. Great music
He plays with pressurehed, later Farflung..RIP Nik
Byebye Nik, you were a gent and a genius. Love.
It was such an amazing show.
Yes it was!!!
Yes met mr Turner in 1977 at Stonehenge just great .
this sounds way better than hawkwind
Had this on VHS. Played it to death. Never had the opportunity to listen to it through stereo headphones. Thanks!
I wish they'd can the animation and show the band more.
Yeah, they've overcooked the special effects. Wonder if the FX guy was wasted?.
I'd pay good money for the un-edited version.
Agreed. Would rather see the band.
Yeah those times, I remember the black pyramids. They were actually 3D pyramid shaped trips... :)
rip Nik.
Music for the cosmos-A wonderful album! 🛸
Lovely.. fantastic.. the only one's.. ..no matter what they try..
Seen nik in early 2000s. Solar fire light show was doing the light show. Harvey Bainbridge was on keys.
Show was awesome. One of the best concerts i ever seen.
Had the VHS it died thought it was knackered.. wish I got to see them then
Excellent😅
Mr Hawkwind....😎
Saw Nik with Helios Creed on guitar & Dik Mik, along with 2 studio musicians I don't remember names for as "Space Ritual" in the late 1990's in Cambridge MA. over @ The Middle East club.
Freaking FANTASTIC SHOW!!
I saw that show in San Diego! That was great. I was not Dik Mik at the show though. It was Del Dettmar.
@@daveapple205 I thought so .. .them funny names . . easy tomuddle innit .. .
mind you I think I meet Del at Exeter a while ago he did a solo it was amazing something to do with harmonisers or something which was of great interest to me at this time. . . . .I thought the gig was brilliant . . .I would love to get hold of a mixing desk copy one apparently existed according to Olly who I meet next at Glastonbury. .phew. ..
Rip nik
Awesome!
Excellent !!! pErformancE from G, P , Orridge ..
RIP RIK
I still think of him as a friend...
God I loved the Purple Pyramids & The Blue ones especially! The brown ones were great too! The last of the really strong export quality that made it out of England before Operation Julia stuffed it all up!
There is always good ACID in the UK. You just need to know where.
White lightning was decent convoy acid back in the day⚡️couple of quid a tab.
@@cjhards Yep 1 quid they came just after the Superman which was awesome as well
@@chriso5040 Supermen, Purple Ohms, Samurais, Smiley Mushrooms, Rising Suns, White Lightnings Red/Green Hearts, and those Gelatin Winddow Panes, all good, but alll those Julie Dots erein anothe tier. Barrels and Pyramids, brown, purple, green, black, we used to sell them dotted on strips of sellotape. Easy to keep track of them, bit of a bugger to extract though. Some of them (the black barrels I think, and the purple pyramids) were reputed to have 800-1000 mikes in 'em, although I can't really confirm that. 😜 Heady days.
Gold dolphins were the absolute bees knees.
Dave's hawkwind is a bit Chas an Dave compared to this ,this is proper hawkwind
Absolutely. Hawkwind ceased to exist as a legit Hawkwind with the departure of Robert Calvert.
All of Brock's stuff should be considered a Dave Brock solo project and NOT Hawkwind.
That was Calvert's view at least and I am ok with it.
Decorated, now dispatched from duty and gone back home. Farewell Captain.
RIP 12 11 22 YOU BEAUTFUL MAN
Upwards and Onwards cosmic friend Peace
1971 HERE I COME
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wow,better than the original...
I only saw Nik live twice during this tour.. I thought he was way more hardcore than Dave’s “Hawkwind”
and the overall sound was very close to the original Hawkwind
seen hawkwind many times....
nik always wore some bizarre stuff....
Only one's I was in nick company.. hebdanbridge.
Much tighter than Hawkwind were at the time....
1994? Alien 4 came out that year and "The Business Trip" early in the year. I consider this a great era for Hawkwind. To each his own, I guess.
sounds to me like Hawkwind should sound, but doesn't

💜
This is hawkwind ,not a fan of Dave's version
Is that Genesis P. Orridge after 29.30?
most definitely.......didn't know there was a connection
@@dontageevamonquaise7423 Genesis P. Orridge guested in Nik Turner's album "Prophets of Time" from the 90's also,
along with some musicians that most of them played on this "Space Ritual" live from that era (Helios Creed, Pressurehed , S. House...)
Goodbye Spaceman
What is the electronic broomstick looking instrument that the larry david lookalike is playing ? And what's his name ?
It's a hybrid/custom built theremin and that is Del Dettmar formerly of Hawkwind playing it. You're welcome.
@@andywainwright1516 thank you for your reply !
@@andywainwright1516 isn't it listed as 'Axe' on the credits? He was a woodsman for a while, I believe
@@andywainwright1516 ...really..Del...cheers for the info.F’ I thought he’d moved ON 🐝🌈💫
Yes it was an axe with a single string on it that produced a signal that was then sent through Del's homemade boxes of filters. I was Helios' next door neighbor at this time and hung out with them from the end of this show through the Oakland show the following night. Del was quite the character.
