We are just about ready to decorate the whole house, but before I do, I wanted to share this year's thrifted haul. Also, let me introduce you to a kindred spirit of mine, Krysta Meeker. I just know you will love her style and all the things she has been collecting for her home, as well. ua-cam.com/video/QcxCXbG-FJM/v-deo.html
I love Krysta!!!!
Oh yes, I have been watching Krysta for quite some time now and she is amazing. I'm looking forward to her Christmas decor this year.
Agree with you and I her way of decorating. Very talented!❤
That rolling pin with sweater pattern would be great to use to make air clay Xmas ornaments. Roll out on clay and use cookie cutters or just circles to make hanging ornaments.
I adore Krista’s channel! I’ve been a follower of hers for a while. You described her perfectly! And Sarah, I love how you lift up other creators. You are a true inspiration and a woman’s woman! Also, Great finds!! I can’t wait to see your home decorated for Christmas
Yes! You lose nothing by lifting others up! I just started watching Krista and her Halloween decor was simp!y awe inspiring!!
The Firestone stations did give out the records after you bought your gas and you could purchase the album for .99 or 1.99. I was always excited when my Dad would bring these records home at holiday time.
I thought Firestone sold tires.
Don't comment often, but how lovely to have stumbled upon one who so generously shares and supports others. Collaboration, not competition. Bravo to you for uplifting another. I wish for you another speedy 100, 000 subscribers who get beautiful things shared, but more importantly to me, done in a powerfully beautiful way of being in the doing. Blessings on your lovely head. xx
Am a follower of Krysta Meeker's, and am here upon her suggestion. Delighted to have found you and your videos. Just beautiful!
Welcome!!
The centers of poinsettias are the actual flower. The color petals are called "bracts."
Somewhere, i read or heard this advice when it comes to curating your space.
1. Dont lock your decor into seasons. Obviously, some things are going to be 4th of july, or Christmas, but the majority of what you accumulate should be able to travel through the year as well as theough time .
2. Keep away from the "in style" things, and focus on "my style". If you love lace curtains, find them and own them, and USE them, even when they " aren't in fashion". A lace curtain makes an amazing table cloth, or "snow" under a tree, or wall art.
3. Love what you love and shed the clutter. If you love vintage brooms and have 20, display them, show them off, love them, and if you have a shelf of copper you dont love, send it on its way.
4. Removing old decor and errecting new decor, should take less than 2 hours per room.
I love Krysta’s channel! I’ve been following her for awhile. You both have such a beautiful eye for old world design which I just love.
Yes, Firestone and Goodyear gave away and later charged $1.00 for the records. (I own them all and would NEVER part with them)
I remember when my dad came with one each year. I wish we had some. The sound quality of vinyl records has never been matched. In fact many people are going back to them.
I love knowing that my 2 favorite designers love each other too!
Ah, the FIRESTONE RECORDS! My grandfather collected them all and got them in the 1960’s when the gas stations that sold Firestone tires gave them out for free. As a child, he would put them on the record player and dance with me. With that forever happy memory, I always look for and collect them!! Thank you for a lovely and inspiring video, as always. Love you!❤
Love krysta’s channel too !!
I loved “I have nine Rubbermaid totes”. I have 75! I’m serious. I’ve been collecting for 50 years, but this year I have finally decided I must eliminate half. I’m at the age where I need to purge and then purge again. It’s so hard to get rid of things that hold so many memories. I used to do 6 trees, now I do three. It takes me over a week to decorate and two to take it down. I’m at the time of my life when I just can’t keep doing so much. 💔🎄I recently discovered your channel and I love it.
I'm 66 and have always only done 1 tree...well, we have a place in the country so 2 trees. Our kids are in their 20's and for any holiday they come for I'm like "Lets go through the box for this or the next ho!iday" so they can decorate their own apts or I can be sure they get the things that are meaningful for them. So far they have taken nothing. I also quit putting up a tree in town because they aren't interested in decorating it or in taking things off the tree to take or pack away. I do a great job in the country but my city kids don't care to even go there. What a group of duds!
Me too and I am really struggling with it though- it doesn’t make me happy to get rid of things and there’s zero inspiration doing things this way (Getting rid of instead of going to the store and finding something to inspire me to decorate and add to what I have). 😢 “I’ll have a blue Christmas” -Elvis. I’ve thought about just continuing the mess and when I die it’s someone else’s problem- they can light a match and walk away.
@@countryfrau8328my kids too- they’re all minimalists 🥵 and everything is grey! I was happy when my grandma or aunt gave me things- I still have them.
@@silvergirl7810 I get that. I went to Hobby Lobby today and $100 later . Oops. BUT I gifted a big tote full of Christopher Radko ornaments to my best friend’s daughter. I was willing them to her but decided I wanted to see her enjoy them now. Her Mom kept asking if I was okay and you know, I am, no regrets. Now can I do that with 30 more boxes? Probably not but I’d like to think I can. I have no kids so my mess gets dumped onto my executors . So the more I gift now, the better.
@@silvergirl7810 I hear this all the time. They don’t want any of the stuff we’ve collected. Maybe they’re smart. But it’s a throw away society. Things aren’t valued and treasured like when I was a kid.
I adore the beeswax tapers in those beautiful patina candlesticks as advent candles. So classy and meaningful.
You look Beautiful, Sarah!😍🎄❤️
I've been watching Krysta for a long time! I adore her. However, I did just find you tonight! So glad I did!!!! Love your decor style and videos!!!
Thank you, and welcome!
I have had my heart set on a vintage all-white Nativity for years. I have an Old World (gilded) set ... but in July, I saw an all-white Nativity at an antique store. I hated to spend $50 in July on Christmas, but I have zero regrets now that November is here! =)
I just found 6 sets of Spode cups and saucers with Christmas trees at my local Goodwill store and also 6 dinner plates that have Christmas trees on them but are unmarked. I am excited to decorate this year with these dishes which will be used throughout the month of December.
I love the bells, candles, old books and the beautiful stocking holder.
I have been a follower of Krysta since she started her UA-cam channel. She is truly a visionary, as are you, dear Sarah. I can't wait to see how you use all of the beautiful finds in your home tour. The old world style truly speaks to my heart. ❤
Red stimulates your appetite and that is why you will often see red in kitchens and dining rooms. Great items. I love Krista Meeker’s channel. I’ve been watching her for a while.
Great idea to use the special candles for the advent wreathe!!! I love Krysta’s channel as well! Your description of her was so kind and described the channel to a tee!!! I love the stocking holder you chose for your husband!
Sarah!!! I’m at a loss for words to describe my gratitude, I’m so moved by your kind words!! 🥹❤️ It’s truly a dream to have been able to collaborate with you! I’ve learned so much from you sweet friend! I also couldn’t help but smile in hearing so many similarities in describing one another! ❤️
Also, your finds are always so good! That green transferware is stunning!! I agree, old crackly records are the best and give off such nostalgic Christmas vibes!! Can’t wait to see all that you do to your home for the holidays this year! 🙌
So much inspiration! I like your style and original ideas. Can't wait for the reveal of everything put together. So much fun! ❤
oh my goodness... I think my parents had all the Firestone Christmas albums. They are long gone now, however, I did manage to find albums 4,5 and 6 online to download quite a few years ago. I'm 70 in February and those Christmas albums always bring me back to my childhood. 🎄❤.
My dad worked for our local Firestone store back in the 60's. Got the new album every year. I also remember getting toys from Firestone too. Good memories.
I saw one this afternoon at our local thrift store. I just chuckled.
I have a red transferware plater that is very similar to your green one with the acorns. Not only do I love transferware, our farm's name is Oak Corners, so it had special meaning for me too.
Firestone used to sponsor CHRISTmas musical shows on tv where all the entertainers of the time would go on and participate in them and sing or talk. On the order of the old Perry Como, Bing Crosby and Andy Williams CHRISTmas shows. My husband collects old radios and two of the tabletop radios I've got him over the years have turntables on top of them and I bought him some old 78s with Bing Crosby and Perry Como singing CHRISTmas music.
I also want you to know that I still use the old green books you sent me from BTS in my CHRISTmas decorations.
Thank you for sharing all of this with us, especially Krysta Meeker's info, I'm looking forward to checking her out.
I love, love, love Meeker Home! Thank you for highlighting her channel!
Oh good! I know, I don't know if anyone following me doesn't already know about her. Haha!
I’m already a follower of Meeker & family and love love her style as well‼️‼️‼️❤️❤️❤️. I went thrifting today with your last Christmas video in mind…and I purchased outside the “ Christmas box” and infused my great finds into my Christmas vibe. TY for sharing all your talents, great finds, & love for all things dearly💚🎄❤️
I also love Krista's channel. She is very talented. Thank you for sharing these ideas, Sarah. The beeswax candles will make your Advent table special.
I love Krysta’s channel. Thank you for featuring other UA-camrs otherwise I might not have found them.
I love Mrs Meeker as well. My dear, I love when you say that, I have quite a few of those frameless glass frames (from SugarBoo) and $10 at Goodwill is a STEAL. Looking forward to your 2023 finale videos 🤍🤍🤍
I came to have a look after Krysta recommended you. I also love her son’s room.
I have subscribed to your channel - besides seeing pretty old fashioned finds the main reason I subscribe is by the voice - stupid isn’t it? I’m not from the US and find high pitched, girly voices very off-putting. I follow Lisa at Farmhouse on Boone - nice voice, interesting life. So I’m looking forward to many happy hours with you. Happy day.🦘🇦🇺
Agree! I love red anyway but it works for Christmas, Valentine's, 4th of July.
I have the same LP from my parent’s collection. I think they got it from their grocery store, A&P, back in the 50’s. Very inexpensive. Thank you for sharing your ideas. You really inspire me.
Loved the picture frame and the silver branches!❤ p.s. Krysta’s channel is awesome
Thank you! And yes, I could watch Krysta's channel allll day!
Thank you for suggesting Krysta; I’m loving her channel, as I love yours, Sarah. ♥️
I watch her, she is amazing!
Oh Sarah! Claire and I love to cook italian especially to Dean Martin... he hailed from not too far away from us :)...definitely have the Christmas music going pretty much most of the day. Great video! Thanks for sharing all the inspiration!
Love it all and can't wait to see what you will create! ❤ will have to check out Krista. Went to an estate sale yesterday and found the best stash of "still had the price tag on" expensive faux greens for a couple of dollars each,, and two of the cutest small Christmas trees I'll be using in a vignette! 😊
Love this collab!! Been following you both for a while and adore each and every one of your videos! So inspiring ✨️ 🙌 ❤️
Love love love! I'm obsessed with green transferware and just scored a couple The Old Curiosity Shop saucers for dirt cheap. I believe thats the pattern of the one plate you have? Can I ask what the name of the other plate is?
Also obsessed with the green books! Just thrifted some myself and love them so much.
And your top is beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing.
I'm a huge fan of Krista & her style. It's so nice of u to introduce others to her! Love the goodies u have in your stash. It's gonna look so festive together. I collect milk glass & there's tons of ways to use it during the holidays. Your bells would look so pretty in a compote filled w faux snow. Even the candles tied with a velvet ribbon would look amazing in a milk glass container. 💗
I've been following Krysta for a while now and LOVE her style. She always creates such an amazing look in her videos.
Thank you… I just saw you on Lisa’s channel for the first time and thought I would check you out:) 💜💜
Oh, I have a Christmas album that we had in our family since I was young. I know where ever crack is. I wanted it to play in my cd player in the car. Couldn’t find it anywhere, so I asked my techy husband if he could make me a copy. He said, sure he could even make it sound perfect, but I was like-NO! I need all the crackles or it isn’t the same! The first time I listened to it, I literally bawled like a baby because it brought back such memeories!
I akways love it rgis time of year when you decorate for Christmas and share it with us Sarah. Looking forward to the next two weeks.. Have a bleassed Thanksgiving with your family.
I have collected Christmas items since we first got married(40 years next spring). But in the small space we are in right now, I only get to pull a fraction of what I have. We have a sea can on the property where I store bins of items, and there are things I haven't been able to use for years. Our plans are to build our farmhouse, so hopefully I will be able to open up my time capsule of treasures next year. There can never be too much Christmas in a home.
Good finds. I’m not grossed out! You don’t have to eat them. Quite frankly you can break your teeth on them! Even when you first buy them. lol I see your vision.
Congratulation to 100.000 subscribers. Great work!!
I also have an ikea gingerbread house kit from last Christmas 😆 May be purely decorative once built 🏠
When my children were growing up, I bought sale gingerbread house kits after Christmas and put them in the freezer to use the next year. AND I bought loads of marked down candy and stored it in the pantry. We did not eat the houses but they were used for decoration only. Why not? Saved a ton and the kids loved having all that candy to choose from.
My parents have that Firestone Christmas album. I remember gas stations used to give away albums, although I'm not sure if that's where the Firestone one came from.
9 bins ! 😮 oh boy ! 😂 I only have 2. I need to tell my husband about this. I have some shopping to do 😂🙋♀️🔔🎄🎁
That Firestone Record brings back so many memories! I think they must have been among the earliest Christ albums. I'm 73 and those records are some of my earliest Christmas mrmories!
Your “frameless frame” is called a floating frame. Hobby Lobby sells them. I use them for my silhouettes.
Talented, kind, and a genuine blessing to all your viewers/friends! Thank you 🤩
I have about 12 bins but each one is a color when I pick something up it goes into that color 2 of those bins are marked Chritmas and it's for extras that don't have a bin and could be used for every Christmas
So fun to see you collaborate with Krysta! I love everything both you ladies do and have learned so much about interior design ❤.
Krysta Meeker is awesome
My faamily had that Firestone record back in the sixties....
I love, love the music. It puts me in a very Christmas-y mood. Thank you!
I follow Krista and Lisa. You all have given me so much inspiration
What a a great idea for making sweater and mitten cookies. Suggestion….how about frosting or glazing the smooth backside of the cookies so the pattern side remains clear and distinctive. Now I’m off to see if I can find a similar rolling pin.😂 Happy Holidays! Love your channel.❤
Well, I don't want to frost them because I want to show off the pattern, but I find that a light glazing does just that. I will sharing how I do in my Handmade Holidays emails this next week! sheholdsdearly.myflodesk.com/tfvdqmdut9
I like to go to antique shops too. To shop for the holidays as well, you did a wonderful job❤
Loved the red and green books. I use maroon and green at Christmas
Loved that picture frame!
I may be mistaken but what you called the stamen on a poinsettia is actually the bloom and the red leaves are red leaves.
I collect year round too for Christmas, it's so much fun ! Can not wait to se your ideas and diys
Thank you. I too love Krista and have followed her for a while.
Popped over from Krysta’s channel. You both have me itching to decorate for Christmas! Beautiful ideas. 🌲
Welcome!
Can't wait for your Christmas house tour! I'm sure it will be beautiful!
I photograph each room each season for reference when thrifting. If I don’t know exactly where I will use it I don’t buy it. Otherwise, I would buy way too much.
@Spedteacher2020
I kind of do what you do too...not the photo (although that's clever), but I visualize what I plan to do with the object and which room I want use it or I don't allow myself to buy it. The only time I break my rule is when I find something unique, hard to find, or drop dead gorgeous. Then I take it home and try to figure out how I can use it. Many times, my eye is drawn to things I already own, and it's easy to talk myself out of buying it. 😂
Beeswax candles do not melt in the sun. Just to let you know.
Ok, good to know! Thank you!!
Hi, I thrift Christmas stuff year round too, particularly for my skinny flocked tree in my dining room. I always have my eye open for vintage, delicate or rustic looking pieces for that tree in white and gold. It’s all very French! I found a hammered brass deer ornament about 12”, mini white birdcage, gilded paper machete artichoke, natural wood mini sled, sugared faux green grapes all thrifted over the last 3 years and some mirrored star ornaments that bought from a antique booth last year! It’s so fun to do!
I cool on some channels during Halloween because I don’t celebrate but other times of the year I love channels that focus on vintage, sort of old world or French inspired decor. I have watched Meeker several times before, she has a fantastic eye for style.
Sounds like you found a great collection of items! 🙌🏼
I just listened to that podcast, jumped over here and subscribed because I am that do it yourself gal who NEEDS to be taught. So excited to binge this channel.
Welcome, so glad you're here!
I am looking forward to seeing how the dress form is styled!
Sarah......Thank you for helping us do what you have done and what we are search for......happiness! With respect, my gift this year to me will be to add a little color to.my hair. Can you advise, yours is so gorgeous!
Oh thank you!! Here is the dye I use. amzn.to/2NBRTKm
Just found your channel this week and love your vibes! I was excited to hear you say Snohomish! Is that Snohomish WA? If so, even more cool to see a local making fantastic content!
Yes! Snohomish, WA is quickly becoming one of my favorite little thrifting day trips!
I thought I signed up for the weekly Christmas DIY's but I am not finding them. Could you help me please.
Can you please send an email to admin@sheholdsdearly.com? Anne can look your email address up to make sure you get the future emails, and can forward you the ones that have already gone out!
So glad I found your channel through Krysta, as you have some wonderful ideas for vintage styling/decor! Gonna binge some of your vids now haha!
Welcome!!
Use them as Pom poms around a small Christmas pillow.
Love her so much! Seriously she is so talented
Hi, my first time here recommended from Krysta Meeker's - Meeker Home UA-cam channel🖤
Welcome!
I would love to learn more about your Christmas decor inventory system. I myself have trouble remember what I have, despite photos from the previous year.
I share more details about it here: ua-cam.com/video/eGXA2iwqoGg/v-deo.html ! I hope it helps!
Love Krysta Meeker very cool collab :)
Krysta does an amazing job. I've learned so much from her. I'm glad you colberated with her!
I had been looking for a used pair of skates for winter and Christmas decorating for years! FINALLY I found them in July in a Goodwill store for a few dollars. I have an old shutter, chippy and blue, against the wall in my living room that I decorate and I can’t wait to hang them with winter greens and berries. I love the crocheted table cloth!
I also do the 'special new bin' in my basement, where all new Christmas finds, get popped in there...lid on... and let it all sleep there til November...all safe and sound, knowing that's it is all collected in one bin(s) for the upcoming holiday season.
Love your creative tips and beautiful ideas. Love the picture frame. transfereware green dishes, the crocheted tablecloth uses and C AN'T wait to see what you do withe dress form!!!
I agree with everything you say about Krysta. ~ she sure is a gem ❤ she speaks highly of you, too. I enjoy your style and suggestions ~ i especially love old books!! Looking forward to your home tour ❤❤
Luv the transfer green plates and the hanging glass frame!
Found your channel through Meeker home. Beautiful video!
Love all your finds and ideas. I found a vintage pair of ice skates. No boot, just the kind the straps to a shoe. Tied a ribbon and hung them on the wall. Beautiful and something everyone else doesn’t have. Excited to see you Christmas design this year. Love, Love your channel and all your knowledge.
Oh joy! I am so ready to decorate for Christmas. Great finds, can't wait to see it all.
Me, too! I can't wait to share the home tours with you!!
Love Krysta s channel also❤
Love, love, love your channel!😊
Love your lace tree skirt idea!
I love Krista been with her a while
Thank you for giving us detailed examples of what you look for and why. Love that❤
I appreciate your passion to create inspired decor. Fun ideas!
Ha, ha….here, Letting go and shopping within my home.. I am going through all my seasonal decor and hoping to donate more to charity as I do every year…. Letting go… so thrifters can find and use.
I love your ideas … especially table cloths to use for your tree skirt!!!! I like to use old quilts I find !!!! Thanks for the ideas !!!!
Sarah, your are such a special soul!
