Wow. I had no idea this set appreciated that much! Amazing how you don’t think much about your Lego sets you played with as a kid having value.

I know... constantly shocked by what older LEGO sets are worth

Man, I miss when when LEGO added large cloth pieces in their sets. They made sets stand out so well among the rest.

This set recently had its 25th anniversary, having been released fifteen days after I was born. And yes, the Western theme was the first theme to use snakes, though they only appeared in their origin color of black until 2002, with their final appearances being in three Harry Potter sets (4735, 4733 and 4730) that year. Some other rare elements in this set are the 1x1x1 1/3 brick w/arch in blue-which only appeared in three other sets after this, and the 2x3 25-degree roof tile in that color was retired in 2013, after 21 years in use. The 1x1 round brick in earth orange (Old brown/Mata brown) debuted in the Western theme and was retired in 2004 after appearing in that year's incarnation of the X-Wing (4502) which you previously reviewed. The saddle in blue had debuted in a "Black Knights" set (6034) in 1990 and was retired in '02 after appearing in several rereleases from the Western theme and the "Black Falcons" theme that year. The 6x6 hollow tree stump was also exclusive to this theme. One of the headdresses on the chief's daughter was almost exclusive to this theme, but it also came in a Legoland promo (5923) in 2002, and the Azkaban version of Hogwarts Castle (4757) in 2004, before being retired.

Ahh interesting, thought it was the first theme to use snakes shortly followed by the Adventurers. Love this theme, kind of special too since LEGO may never make another Western theme like this again.

      I checked the appearance of the blue 1x1x1 w/arch piece (6091) and found it to appear in the following sets after 1997: 5521, 5563, 10196, 3827, 6747, 3537, 4099, 7848, 5893, 4048, and 8163.

The ladder is used as a weapon rack in other sets so it's likely for that
