Hi, jing, and thanks for your question. I would definitely recommend the Yamaha CLP-645 over the Kawai CA-58. Despite the fact that both models offer similar features (though I do like the fact that Yamaha offers Bluetooth AUDIO and WIFI MIDI where the Kawai doesn't offer any streaming AUDIO options), Yamaha Clavinovas have a MUCH better service record than do the Kawai digitals. With Clavinovas, you are far less likely to need repairs or replacement parts. I also think their binaural sampling technology is far superior to Kawai's "Harmonic Imaging." In other words - Clavinovas just sound better. I hope that helps!
Do you think it’s worth spending a little more and getting the clp645 instead of the 635? I am an intermediate level pianist and I think this is the perfect piano for my skills. (I’ve seen people play fantasie impromptu by Chopin and La Campanella by Liszt on this piano and it sounds amazing!)
Definitely. You'll appreciate the Natural Wood Action, the larger sound system and you'll LOVE the Bluetooth Audio feature. For the small difference in price, the 645 is a no-brainer.
Well I'm going through the same tough decision right now, 635 or 645, full plastic or wood whites and plastic blacks + bigger audio system (wont use BT ever) Thing is for me here 635 is 1444 and 645 is 1999, legit 500 difference, thats not a small difference, and I really can't make up my mind if it's worth it or not :/
Hi, Sandu, and thanks for your comment. Where are you located? I am not sure how those prices compare to US dollars, but I can tell you the 645 is definitely a better feeling and sounding piano. Keep in mind that the plastic action is hollow... so it's not the same as a solid wood key... and the sound system is bigger, but that doesn't just mean it's louder - it means it's deeper, warmer and richer overall. The 645 is a MUCH better instrument... and with all the Bluetooth apps out there, I'd challenge you to give them a try before determining you'll never use them. I hear that alot... until my clients find the perfect app for them. Then, suddenly, Bluetooth is a MAJOR selling point. Remember - we never regret buying an instrument that we can grow into... but we ALWAYS regret not buying one that does what we need. You may have to spend more now, but you'll have this piano for decades... make sure you get one that will meet your needs now and in the future.
@@RivertonPianoCompany Hello! Thanks for the answer! Well I live in Portugal and those are the prices of all the stores selling these here, 635 always around 1444 € and 645 always around 1999 €. It is true that better speakers mean more depth, not only more volume, good point! But the biggest difference would really be the key action itself. Well it's odd you see, the 645 white keys are wood inside but then plastic on top, and black keys are 100% plastic, so it's not like I'm paying 500€ more(which is a lot) for a key action that REALLYY resembles a real piano, but just for something that would feel a little more like a real piano than the key action of the 635, just another small incremental, at least thats what I understood of all these reviews and people I managed to talk to on discord
Ahh ok! I understand what you're saying... but acoustic pianos are made with solid wood keys and plastic key tops. That is why they did that with the 645. It has a MUCH more "substantial" feel than the 635's hollow plastic keys. I agree that having plastic black keys with wood white keys is odd, but I think they did that because the black keys are so much smaller. You wouldn't notice the difference there as much. (In fact, some acoustic pianos make their black keys out of plastic.) Whatever you do - definitely PLAY ONE before you buy. Nobody can tell you which piano you'll like best. Try them both and get the one you love! Best of luck to you and thanks again for your great questions!
Hi, Riddhi, and thanks for your question! Actually, the CLP-645 is one of the "sweet spots" in the CLP line right now. With the wooden keys, built-in Bluetooth feature and optional WIFI (with UD-WL01), it can do just about anything - and for the right price. We really like the 645. Good luck with yours! ...and thanks for watching!
YES! Hahaha. Both are great pianos. The trick to this decision is playing them and determining which one you like best. It's like asking someone "Do you recommend Pepsi or Coke?" Whatever answer you get will be pure personal preference. Of course, I have a favorite... but what matters most is which one YOU prefer! ...and which one best meets your particular needs. I hope that helps!
"Really enjoyed the video......it's a beautiful instrument & sounds incredible
Thank you, Ann! We really love these pianos and it's a pleasure to share that excitement with folks like you! Thanks for the encouragement!
Would you recommand KAWAI CA58 or Yamaha YLP 645? I am just a beginner and want to play more classical music .Thanks in advance
