Thanks for a 21 year old born after martial law you have a clear appreciation of the contribution of Marcos. I know because all my working life in the Phil. was under his regime. I even worked under Imelda. The intentions were great. We were able to build more low income housing projects like BLISS metro and all over PI, population control, family planning, Heart Center, Kidney Center, Lung Center (I started it), etc., that subsequent administrations failed to improve and add more projects.
Most of Imelda Marcos's shoes were made in the Philippines.Phil shoemakers gave Imelda free shoes w/c she wore to promote the local shoe industry, particularly on her foreign trips.Even Pres.Marcos wore Phil-made shoes. From Dec1965 to Feb1986, Imelda Marcos never threw old shoes away.In the Malacanang bodega were found hundreds of old shoes dating as far back as the mid-1960s.Even on the oldest pairs of Phil made shoes, the material&workmanship were still good & the glue& stitching still held.

I was known as the "Imelda Marcos of Kansas City" for my extensive shoe collection. Idk what it is, but I LOVE SHOES!!! GALLIANO's 2009 RTW was GORGEOUS! I was gonna drop over $1,000 for a pair but they didn't have my size. My shrink told me I was a "Shopaholic". Needless to say, I'm more fiscally responsible these days! X♡
I want to point out that Imelda Marcos is the founder and sole proprietor of the Bata Boot Corp, the world's largest shoe factory. If she had 1000 pairs of shoes, that would not surprise me in the least. and my first guess is that they are prototypes of shoes she designed. I would not assume that any self made billionaire was stealing money from anyone.
she has helped marikina to be known as the shoe capital of the Philippines. the owners did gave it to her as a gift and she wore those shoes whenever she goes out of the country and thereby giving publicity to where it was made. of course only those shoes made here.
Marikina which is a part of Metro Manila used to be a shoe capital of the Philippines...so to promote it they would gift her with shoes...those who were not aware...there were a lot of designer brands ordered in that city...you will be surprised but could not mention...even Italian brands as they were mostly handmade by Marikina artisans...actually there is a Museum in that city with a lot of Mrs. Marcos' shoes!
Most of them were donated because she developed the shoe industry in Marikina, If you are the First lady, you will get a lot of gifts all over the world. I am a lowly govt employee and I have 500 pairs right now, if I do not give them away like Imelda, I could have had more shoes than her.

it is indeed true that we have to pay interest since any money that is loaned should be returned with interest. yet to add, since it is from an international monetary institution, there is a penalty clause in every contract that states that the money should be spent for the development and any non usage (in case the project) is complete shall definitely incur penalty. take for example the rehabilitation of PNR.
@syzygy58 you have misunderstood me on my citation of the rehabilitation of PNR. i was referring to its rehabilitation now, which has a penalty clause indicated therein in case of non usage.
i remember when i was a kid back in the philippines we went on a field trip to the malacanang palace before they closed down this shoe exhibit and i got to see these shoes!
Big deal ! if she has a lot of shoes ..food for her .me my self I am ordinary human being I do have a 30pair of shoes. .. leave her alone people " grow up "
that is so true philippines is way better before than today there are lots of infrastructure built here and there in his ruling compared to all those who seats in malacanang same as housing projects health care services is much better they maybe greedy but they didnt left their responsibility to d filipino people and philippines became one of the wealthiest country in early 70's..
@butterfly02tots PNR? During FM's term, it gradually declined as a means of major carrier of goods over expressways project, roadways, etc. There was no PNR rehab during his term nor succeeding prez. It was only during FVR's term was there a concerted effort to bring back the PNR into operations. That's why we are now engaged with China for a BOT agreement for PNR, no fund allocated nor borrowed. Why didn't FM think about that other than HIM doing the project? NO MONEY IN BOT, that's why!
@butterfly02tots: The decision to review for use was done 1987 Cory's term. Sorry, forgot to add this line. But what i posted still can stand on its own "leg". Understand though where you're coming from. Peace!
butterfly02tots: Its a given that we have to pay for the interest because the BNPP was foreign funded on credit, not because of non-usage! Whether we use it or not we have to pay the capital used and its interest. And besides the original project cost was US$600M that ballooned to US$2.3B after it was finished 1984 (FM time). Ur comment "pay for the interest bcoz of non-usage" is a non-sequitur if i see one!
Before Marcos entered politics, he was already a billionaire. How? Through gold. I actually made a video here entitled "Philippine gold". You can also google The Secret Gold Treaty.
im jst about a regular person.but i currently own 160 pairs of shoes.what more to a first lady who travels, meet diff.people n recieve lots of gifts.so its not a surprise for me that we have IMELDIFIC in each n every one of us.
i totally agree... isn't it that the lrt1 project was originally the marcos administration's idea. to add, we could have a very low cost of electricity had the bataan powerplant was opened and used. its because of the succeeding administration that we had to pay for the interest because of non-usage.
FortNikitaBullion her husband stole? you bullshit! saying something without even knowing it. you are really brainwashed by aquino media family bitch. it was a gift from a chinese leader
really, all us girls and our shoes....we're not that far off from Imelda - besides when you get that rich and important - you have people giving you gifts, left, right, & centre - and that includes shoes!!!
Imelda's life story is better than "Cinderella". Cinderella became the princess when the prince married her and that's it, a princess. Imelda, the true Cinderella, after she married a powerful man, worked hard to build the Filipinos hospitals, parks, housing, education, and many more..Despite the "pangmamata" of the jealous ugly socialites, Imelda emerged far more beautiful inside and outside than a hundred of them combined. Until now, she is still alive and well and happy.
@butterfly02tots: Hmm, not quite familiar with the terms for PNR's rehab now, but i think it's a BOT project, unless i'm mistaken. Nevertheless, sorry for misunderstanding your previous post, thougth it was during FM's term. But surely, i stand by my recent post. My apologies then! :D
Imelda Marcos would have probably hit it off well with Michelle Obama because Michelle used to wear her famous green heels a lot . Thanks for the upload psychediva!
jpopqueen85: Sana mabasa mo din ung "The Untold Story of Imelda Marcos", written by Carmen Navarro-Pedrosa, medyo controversial book at that time (ca. 1969) kasi she was harassed for not turning over the manuscript to Imelda (as she wants to stop the publication). Result? Ms. Pedrosa went on a self-exile to London as her life was in peril. Andun lahat kung bakit ganito si Imelda ngaun, nabasa ko dun (sa ate namin kc ung book) reasons why she is in denial up to now.
all collections of shoes of Imelda Marcos are made all in marikina that why Imelda Marcos promote marikina shoes in the world but when Marcos exile marikina shoes go down
jpopqueen85: LOL! Grabe, we have the same frame of mind. I never have the trust and confidence in ECojuangco, Jr. It's my deep suspicion that he & Imelda (add Ver for military factor) engineered the assassination of Ninoy. Imelda to hold on to political power, ECojuanco for his economic empire & Ver for total control of Military (a de-facto Marcos side of the triumverate). Andun lahat ingredients kasi eh. Damn, good people really die young! But look at them (except Ver), namamayagpag pa rin
Hippocrites would say she should have given it to the poor, that collection was a collection of 20 years, and she was first lady, she had to represent the country, WOULD FILIPINOS WANT THEIR FIRST LADY TO BE IN SLIPPERS WHEN SHE VISITS THE MAJOR PALACES OF THE WORLD? OR WHEN SHE FACES FOREIGN DIGNITARIES IN MALACAÑANG?
jpopqueen85 (1): Okay, i'll gloss over that maka-marcos bit! Not true dude, ang dami ngang flamers sa akin na maka-marcos kasi i present them the true facts regarding FM's true legacy he left us, greed, corruption, etc. Please visit any Marcos video here and maybe you'll come across our heated exchange between me and DlaCaden and his cohorts. Grabe tirada sa akin dude! lol! And yes, i know how FM used the patriarch Lopez's son to seal the transfer not only of ABS-CBN but Meralco too!
jpopqueen85: For fairness sake, FM never had an eye for the Conjuangco's properties, i.e Hacienda Luisita. No, Aquinos are not the owners, only Cory has an interest in that property being a family incorporation. Ninoy for that matter does not have a say either. So can we keep our data/facts on the level please? Let's mitigate our hatred pls, read and be informed. Peace!
@eriche143 (2) No, make that under the conditions of the original bank loan the Aquino clan made with some bank consortia. One condition is such that, the tillers of Hacienda Luisita will get the first crack of owning the property after paying the debt w/the banks. The loan is payable 10 yrs. I bet you didn't know that, but HL subverted that condition by making these people part owner of HL through stock dividends, thru manipulations of the Aquino clan, managed to impose to the farmers.
@eriche143 Good analogy, both indeed can have as many as they want. The actress in her PRIVATE capacity can indulge in such lavish manner. Imelda being the President's wife can't and shouldn't flaunt nor indulge in excesses like these. You should put it in context where she would be the most insensitive First Lady for buying these shoes where pervasive hunger lurks just outside her Malacanang window!
Kayo na ang maging First Lady At Ambassadress of goodwill so halos lahat ng puntahan nyang Bansa ay nagreregalo any kind especially shoes; jewelries ,hwag ng mainggit sa kapwa , workhard na lang kayo At Alison ang inggit sa katawan malayo ang posisyon ninyo kay Madam ; hwag ng magpumilit, ✌️✌️✌️🌺🇨🇦🌷
hay naku! kahit sabihin man nating na galing sa nakaw ang mga kaartehan ni imelda para sa akin(opinion ko and akin lang to) OK NA OK LANG!! for the fashion and for the glam ibigay na natin kay imelda lahat ng yan kahit galing sa nakaw i really dont care shes my fave fashion icon!
omg this video makes me mad and crazy. i cant even go shopping for my own clothes here in canada without feeling guilty. and there she was spending every penny she got her hands on.
Mind your own business ; scratch your own itches, what’ z your problem, work hard s you have too , They are blessed and hardworking people ; don’t jealous on others fame, ,be nice and great public servant with good governance and you will succeed and blessed✌️✌️✌️👍👍🌸🇨🇦🌺
@butterfly02tots The BNPP was FM's flagship project! The BIG QUESTION U SHD ASK IS, WHY WAS IT NOT PUT ONLINE since it was finished (1984) during his term? WHY? It was given a review on the possibilty of starting it but a foreing tech audit showed many defects that was why it was deferred, for safety reason not political. We shd rely on facts not what we feel happened to make what we say as credible. Keep it real ok?
Imelda Marcos was Ninoy's first and only love. Ninoy married Cory for political and financial reasons. Ninoy hated Marcos for marrying Imelda and Cory hated Imelda so much that her hypocritical saintly rosary clutching image did not even asked forgiveness from Imelda for what she did to her. It became Ninoy and Cory's lifetime quest to ruin Marcos and Imelda. I'm sure they are burning in hell especially Cory for her hypocrisy.
@eriche143 Of course, when you digest that reply you would certainly think am from the left, no, of course not. I'm one who loves this country who would rather stay on despite the temptation of leaving it to seek "greener pasture". doing that would be a disservice to my country. I'm not from the far right either, just another centrist who want to have a better Philippines. My take on this is change the peoples thinking then these politicians will wilt under their scrutiny. Am for Gordon! :D
Any Phil admini have some form of corruption but working under martial law in the govt and then later with the new govt, made me realize that there were more projs during the Marcos regime, pop planning, Kadiwa stores for the poor, BLISS housing, that the next administration did not follow through, roads to the North, the C5,C6 roads were planned during the Marcos regime, the overpasses, the Light rail on EDSA, the only thing they did was the flyoever that went only as far as the rich people.
@eriche143 its really a shame for what the Aquinos are treating these farmers w/c to me is not only legally wrong but morally as well. I may have been too harsh w/ Imelda here, but maybe its your perception but pls read again my post where prominently the word - context, would aptly put where my sentiments are. But nevertheless i stand by my reactions as i would respect your opinion too about me. But really, i am appreciating very much for pointing out your opinion to balance my views Cheers
ya Marcos was already rich before he was president thats what the media fail to disclose but then again that should be personall information as it deals with the affairs and bank accounts of the Marcos's it isnt my business what they own nor is it there business what is in my bank account either !
Not only did she spent a lot of money on shoes, but she spent money on the same type of shoes over and over again. Even if she's using her own money that's just being wasteful.
i can't help if the filipinos wer afraid of d consequences of hvng a nuclear powerplant built because of the Chernobyl incident. But of course with high security maintenance and thorough supervision of the scientist will help d power plant to be successful. If dey wer so scared of the powerplant dey should also hav not permitted the pandacan oil depot dat also imposes a violent threat not only health hazards it brings to the people near its vicinity bt also cn erase NCR if some1 attacked it!!!
i luv shoes too hahah for some reason i luve shoes..dont know but i luv shoes guess it has to do w/o having no shoes b4 now i have money i want different pair of shoes to wear..mmm nothing just luv it hahaha
You reporter better watch you're mouth President Marcos made so much infrastructure projects in our country like San juanico bridges,Philippine international convention Center, geothermal power plant,Bataan nuclear power plant, light rail transit LRT,Philippine Heart Center for Asia,Philippine Lung Center,Cultural center of the Philippines, angat dam, pantabangan dam and others infrastructure projects that still operation until now all of these projects contribute his wealth to all these projects
i watched this video out of curiosity but every time i see and hear her speak, i see nor hear an icon of glamour, all i see is the face of atrocious corruption and it makes me really sick to my stomach.
Thanks for a 21 year old born after martial law you have a clear appreciation of the contribution of Marcos. I know because all my working life in the Phil. was under his regime. 1,200 x 2= 2400
only 1,080 pairs left to catch imelda. mens shoes are too damn expensive though. :(

@butterfly02tots
The BNPP was FM's flagship project!
Think what? you think where you get that number. most of those shoes are from shoe manufacturer in the Philippines and those are gifts
I want to buy my girl crush all the shoes too
Hey, us fabulous bitches need our shoes HAHA i Love it
@eriche143 Of course, when you digest that reply you would certainly think am from the left, no, of course not.
If I had that much pull, I'd be drowning myself in shoes too
there's another imelda marcos..she is in MALAYSIA..ROSMAH MANSOR!!!
Over the Top enough of this
Thats right, Enuff of ur STUPIDITY bcoz it makes u feel like an IDIOT 👉👌😉
@eriche143 its really a shame for what the Aquinos are treating these farmers w/c to me is not only legally wrong but morally as well.
I may have been too harsh w/ Imelda here, but maybe its your perception but pls read again my post where prominently the word - context, would aptly put where my sentiments are. But nevertheless i stand by my reactions as i would respect your opinion too about me. But really, i am appreciating very much for pointing out your opinion to balance my views Cheers
ya Marcos was already rich before he was president
thats what the media fail to disclose but then again that should be personall information as it deals with the affairs and bank accounts of the Marcos's it isnt my business what they own nor is it there business what is in my bank account either !
I'd sell the shoes and buy 2,000 acres in Brazil and give it back to the Earth. If there was any money left over I'd buy myself a better surfboard.
My last name is Marcos; and we wear the same size :3
Ok "MELANIE VALENTINE"
Not only did she spent a lot of money on shoes, but she spent money on the same type of shoes over and over again. Even if she's using her own money that's just being wasteful.
a representation of greed.
i can't help if the filipinos wer afraid of d consequences of hvng a nuclear powerplant built because of the Chernobyl incident. But of course with high security maintenance and thorough supervision of the scientist will help d power plant to be successful. If dey wer so scared of the powerplant dey should also hav not permitted the pandacan oil depot dat also imposes a violent threat not only health hazards it brings to the people near its vicinity bt also cn erase NCR if some1 attacked it!!!
i luv shoes too hahah for some reason i luve shoes..dont know but i luv shoes guess it has to do w/o having no shoes b4 now i have money i want different pair of shoes to wear..mmm nothing just luv it hahaha

i watched this video out of curiosity but every time i see and hear her speak, i see nor hear an icon of glamour, all i see is the face of atrocious corruption and it makes me really sick to my stomach.
i love her!
@greenpalaka then Paris Hitlton should be called a wannabe Imelda Marcos, then? lol!
