- Learn "The Sunny Hills of Beara'", a beautiful jig composed by fiddle player John Dwyer (RIP), with Tunes From Doolin.
I learned "The Sunny Hills of Beara" in 2020, it is a wonderful jig composed by the late John Dwyer. I learned it from the playing of Tony O'Connell (concertina) and Brid Harper (fiddle), who recorded it on Tony's solo album "'Live And Well", which is one of my favourite albums these past few years. I heard this tune quite a lot this past year so it seems to be quite popular.

Fantastic playing Charles the speed is just lovely well done😊
Really lovely going to learn this on mandolin
Nice one Tom, it's such a great tune 🤩🎶☘️ You should check out "The Fox in the Thatch" as well, another jig from John Dwyer that is often played after this one!
Very nice man, I picked this tune up from a session in Cork city and love it. There are some lovely tunes from the Dwyer's.
👏👏👏👏
Thanks a million Conchubhair, glad you enjoyed this lovely jig 🤩🤩
Your finger motion on the buttons always displays such great economy of motion and calmness. I watch your videos both for the lovely music and for your technique.
Aww thank you James 😊😊 I am not always as calm when I play but I enjoy making these videos, it's great to hear the tunes speaking for themselves 🎶💚
👍👍👍
Thanks a million Peter 🙏
Great playing. P.S. What's the name of the tune on the outro starting at 1:48 please?
Hi Jim! Thank you so much for the kind words 😊 The tune in the outro is "The Collier's", taken from my duet album "Aughavinna" with my friend JB! I haven't posted this tune on the channel here yet but I'll try to do it soon!
