Great video I have a bit of dyslexia and I get frustrated on pronouncing and reading certain lines that effects my confidence in ways I can get into different characters
Bro thanks for ur acting videos. My prob is how to get characters lines your own how. When I memorizing lines and then perform I feeling produce fake lines from my mouth how fix this?
I think top tips for memorisation would be: 1)Get rid of distractions totally 2)Pick a SHORT time but REALLY focus. This challenges you to learn quicker... but because you’re under pressure the adrenaline helps u take lots in
I'm almost finished the 10 hour acting class - one lesson per day for 30 days. I am a 56 year old actor in Australia and I have found your course full of gems that are helping me. I did what you suggested, keeping a journal of all the important points and highlighting the gems. I've been lucky in the work I've done so far, now I'm prepared! Thank you!
Focus is KEY. Thank you for this. I am 20 and getting into acting school and acting for the first time after this quarantine. This is very helpful. I was scared about acting (especially knowing my lines) but I'm getting more and more confident as I go. This was reassuring. I also got your program!!
I literally started complaining to myself that I have to memorise something written by William Shakespeare and I think the Actors Academy could hear me.
We had to memorise 2 of Shakespeare's plays in school, so when you mentioned knowing the lines we are supposed to memorise, my first thought was that I was, for the first time thankful for knowing how to go about method of learning the lines.
Omg I just found you're channel. And I'm so glad because I have applied for a school. I have choosen to go to a school that has drama / acting. But I don't really have a background from child theater or anything like that. So I really hope that I will like this school, enjoy it and learn new thing even though it might be hard for me than the others pupils. I'm going to do an audition and this video really helped me. Because I'm struggling with learning the script and I'm scared that I will forget. But thank you for this video :)
👑 wow cool! I will start tomorrow. I am just starting my acting career and “ memorising lines” was the only concerning thought I had... but following your suggestion will definitely give me foundation and confidence to make it! 😎 Simo
Hi! I'm 13 and quite shy. Have you made any videos about how to get started and build confidence or anything like that because I don't feel like my acting is that good at the moment, thanks! You're videos have helped me a lot.
@@Itsmelifeofzee If I'm being completely honest, not a lot. But since I've gone back to school after the lockdown, I've been doing drama classes at my school and my friends have really helped me gain a lot of confidence. So I'm now trying to consistently get myself out of my comfort zone and become more confident. :)
Hey I really want to start a acting career , I’m 16 and I’m irish and I would love to get into a Netflix show or a movie . Could you give me some tips as I am very new to this
Oriana Young hi I’m 16 too ! I started study acting in a acting school a year ago , and now I’m about to finish it and join an agency . I live in Israel so it’s so far away the USA , but right now I can’t move in the USA , so I’m focusing at starting where I am ..I really recommend to start acting where you live to gain more experience ,
Finally this is what I needed... I signed up to be a actor but I didn't get a call back yet but I've been trying to practice and get to my full potentia. But thank you I needed this
WOW! That´s exactly how I have always done, and I have never had any training in acting. Thanks for this video, now I know that I am doing it right. I will certainly check out your other videos.
Hey all these videos are literally the only reason I have a chance at ever doing something big and I would like to ask if you can do a video on getting into acting at a teenage?
When you said you should do a monologue relative to you, it makes sense but sometimes it's core for a young person to play an adults. For example, in the school play I had to play an 89 year old man
I love watching movies and it would be an honor actually being in one just like how they moved me I want to move other people as well. I know it won’t be easy but I’m willing to work for t it and I’ll do whatever it takes to get to it I am Hispanic and French currently 14 years old about to be 15 in 4 months living in Nevada so I know it’s kind of harder for me not living in LA but I go there often maybe 2 every 3 months can you please respond I really want to hear your opinion on basically anything what do you think I should do?
I'm very new to all of this but from all the videos I have seen you are amazing!! I would just like to know if I could apply to any course because I'm from Portugal?!
Hey, what are your thoughts on doing monologues from movies and television for an audition? I hear mixed reactions with this; how there is a stigma around using a movie monologue, and so generally it isn't done and that most actors are encouraged to use theater monologues for auditions instead. I'm asked to self-tape 2 contrasting monologues and the instructions don't specify so just curious. Thanks!
It all depends. Monologues are typically used more for theater work. So if you’re auditioning for a theater project, they may prefer a monologue from a play, because when auditioning for a play more often than not you will use a monologue, while auditioning for a movie/TV show more often than not it will be a scene. I’m not sure what your situation is, but if you are taking a theater class (at school and need a good grade) and they want a monologue/your instructor prefers one from a play, than I’d try doing a monologue from a play. Personally, if I’m working with an actor don’t care if an actor shows me a monologue from a play or a movie as long as it resonates with them and it’s something the actor actually wants to do, but that’s my opinion on it. For me acting is acting, so if you pick a play or movie I’m fine with either, because in the end your job is to act.
Thank you so much for this . Your you tube channels are really helping us all . We hope to one day become actors and it’ll be all thanks to you .. please how else can we communicate with you? Let’s say we want to ask you private questions or something?
Loved the video, you're amazing, just one question about the websites you linked to: I would like to use the monologues not only to practise memorisation but also to practise credibility, being real and stuff. The problem is, is that on Daily Actor no context is provided whatsoever so I don't know the characters and I have no clue what the heck they are even talking about. Do you have other recommendations for websites that do that a little better?
So when it comes to memorizing lines can I put all the lines together like a monologue and memorize it like that and than put into a conversation for a scene?
@@user-iw7qx1fj9i Acting should be treated as a hobby when you have things to do such as GCSE's or A-levels. Focus on the courses you're doing and do acting, consistently, in your spare time. Unless you're doing a theater course then I'd focus on that.
mariejoe Khouryy you can but usually casting directors like it when you memorize the exact material. They’re not going to get upset if you change up some small words, but try your best to get it as close to the original as possible.
