Many thanks for the wonderful insights into this text. Congratulations on your 40 year anniversary. I’m not too far behind. My wife and I will be at 37 years in May. Being married to a wonderful woman is truly a great blessing.
Mr. Gore, Bruce, I want to let you know how much I love and appreciate you. It is because of your faithful presentation of John's Apocalypse that I have been delivered from the darkness of Dispensationalism into the hope of post-millennialism. But, I just cannot embrace the teachings of John Calvin due to the implications of the system. My wife and I still plan to try and come to Spokane and visit First Presbyterian to get you to sign my book!
Morada = Abode Juan 14:2 Reina-Valera 1960 2 En la casa de mi Padre muchas moradas hay; si así no fuera, yo os lo hubiera dicho; voy, pues, a preparar lugar para vosotros. John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him Many people- many moradas
Congratulations. Maybe John was the youngest and looked to Our LORD as a Father figure. That would make sense of the wording to me. Ok. God bless. Merry Christmas from the Dom. Rep.
Your interpretation of John 14:1-3 is new to me, but totally makes sense. A major problem is that modern translations use hearts (pl) and will come instead of am coming, making it very hard to get to your line of thinking of Jesus talking to Peter specifically and in a more immediate sense, and the chapter delineation doesn't help. Any idea why the change in modern translations? Any influence or specific thinking in modern history that you are aware?
Thank you Bruce. Excellent teaching. Dave Hughes
