- Located in the charming town of Scarborough on the northern coast, Scarborough Beach offers breathtaking views of the coastline and towering cliffs.
The beach spans across an area of moderate slope and is situated just 21 kilometers north of Wollongong's central business district.
Take a stroll along the picturesque coastline and soak up the stunning vistas or simply relax and unwind on the golden sandy beach. There are parklands located in close proximity to the beach, perfect for picnicking with family and friends. Scarborough Beach is also home to a surf club, offering water sports enthusiasts an opportunity to indulge in various water-based activities.
Scarborough Beach is a great destination to visit throughout the year. Scarborough Beach is easily accessible by car or public transport. If you're driving, it's just a short 2-hour drive from Sydney. Alternatively, you can catch a train to Wollongong station and then take a local bus or taxi to the beach.
We were surprised that in the height of summer there was no one on the beach. Definitely a great day out with the family.
