    The AcuFeed Flex system on the Janome M7 is so helpful when piecing long strips of fabric and, with its ability to be used with a variety of AcuFeed feet, it can really help you in your sewing and quilting.

    Such a spot-on, clear and concise turtorial on AcuFeed Flex System & Feet! I so appreciate the up-close shots on the M7 as you explain the technical elements of the procedures to attach the feet.
    Also, Kim, what's nice about your tutorials is that when the quilter/sewer wants quick, precise instructions, we tend to want the *NOW!* --we're in the middle of something and want to get back!
    You are the instructer to turn to--because of your direct, clear-cut--and pedagogical methodolgy!
    Thank you!

    Thank you so much for doing this tutorial! I have had my M7 for 3 years now and could never get the AcuFeed system to work right because I didn’t know you needed to turn on the icon box. It says absolutely NOTHING about that in the manual. I even went back and looked again after watching this to make sure I just didn’t miss anything, but nope, no mention of that important step. Now my quilt sandwich is going through smoothly and my stitches are perfectly spaced. This is my 4th Janome machine, 2nd with AcuFeed, but this system is a little different than the other. I knew it was supposed to work better!

    Your Janome M7 tutorials are so helpful and this one is no exception. Thank you. I learned a few things that I missed in the manual. The demos are so helpful.

    Excellent video. I just watched a different instructor demonstrate the Accu feed, but they never selected the option on the screen. I’m not sure if they know that they’re not getting the full benefit of the feature if they don’t activate the option on the touchscreen.

    Thank you Kim for this Accufoot video. I did not know you needed to turn on the icon box to use these feet. I also do not quite understand - are these just Walking Feet or are they for particular sewing techniques more so than regular sewing?

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  2 роки тому

      These are what most people would call "walking feet", They help to move the top and bottom layers of fabric along at the same pace.

    I love your videos on the M7 which I watch all to improve myself but I do not understand why many are not subtitled. I am French and I go through the translation to be able to understand. This one, for example, is not subtitled?

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  Рік тому

      It's quite time consuming to add subtitles to the videos and, as I'm a one girl business, I'm just not able to always do that.

    • @cathyteramo8630
      @cathyteramo8630 Рік тому

      @@Chatterboxquilts I wrote to youtube and they said you have to enable automatic captioning. I watch everything in English on youtube and everything is always subtitled except for a few of your videos and I don't understand why and it bothers me a lot because I really like your videos which teach me a lot of things.

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  Рік тому

      I can turn on subtitles (it's different that automatic captioning) and UA-cam generates subtitles. I then have to go through all the subtitles and correct them as they don't make a lot of sense if I don't and this is what takes the time. Between script writing, making samples, filming, editing, creating thumbnails and posting, it just doesn't leave a lot of time for anything else. And then there is the rest of my business to work on... 😉

      @@Chatterboxquilts Ah well, I don't know the process at all. But thank you for answering and I will still watch your videos.

    Does Janome have a ruffler foot for the M7 ? I have to get back into garment sewing for a special project and I need to ruffle the skirt material.

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  Рік тому

      I believe so. I just got one for the M17 so the same one might fit the M7. I would check with your local Janome dealer to get the correct one for that particular model.

    Im shopping machines and seriously considering the M7! I am new to sewing and have only used UA-cam videos/tutorials to create projects and learn some of the lingo. (I am a visual learner). I want a machine that can handle most anything so I am not upgrading all the time! Im confused though, I thought “AcuFeed” was the top/bottom feed system that Janome machines have, but now Its being described as Flex. What was so special about the AcuFeed system if it wasnt the top and bottom feeding? I am wondering if I would be just as happy with a less expensive Janome I can grow into rather than the more expensive M7.

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  Рік тому

      I have several videos on my channel on buying sewing machines that you will find helpful. New Janomes are coming out this fall so I would also check out the M6 or the M8 if you are considering the M7 and then there are other ones, like the 9850 that will be a bit less expensive (I think). I'm not a Janome retailer so it's best to check out these options at your local Janome shop. The AcuFeed Flex system has the feed dogs on the machine and then the feet also have little feed dogs on them to feed both top and bottom at the same time.

    I have the Janome 8900 sewing machine. It is a 9mm machine, and I have a few accused feet for it. They are a stitch in the ditch foot, a 1/4” foot with a guide, and the foot that came with the machine. Can these be used with the M7? They look the same.

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  5 місяців тому

      Not sure about that. It's best to check with a Janome retailer to find out for sure. You can also look up one of these feet through an online shop and they usually list the machines with which they can be used.

    I just got my M7 ..I. I want to chain piece 2-1/2 inch square .... I do not remember if it was in one of your videos they showed chain piecing using memory so that you could stitch the exact number of stitches ( back tacking at the top and bottom of the patch ) using memory. This technique was also used doing decorative stitches. Can you tell me which video uses this technique ( I am beginning to think this was a technique my dealer showed me but I keep thinking it was in one of your videos) If you do not have a video .... maybe you can show how the memory feature is used,

      I did do a video on it but for the 9450 and you can find that video at ua-cam.com/video/butQ8bFJuq0/v-deo.html.

    Don’t u have the lock the machine before changing the foot

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  Рік тому

      No, you lock the machine before threading the needle - and make sure that the needle is up by pressing the needle up/down button.

    • @Chatterboxquilts

      I haven't seen anything about a stitch regulator for a Janome machine. Any new models/features will come out via Janome retailers first (I'm not a Janome rep or retailer)

    Why can’t you use the HP plate with the AD foot?

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  3 роки тому +2

      The HP plate is specifically made to work with the HP and HP2 feet. The AD foot is a "walking foot" and you want to be able to activate the AcuFeed Flex system with this foot so it works properly and I don't believe you'll have that option if the HP needle plate is installed.
