Hey Tom I’m a small time contractor over in nsw seen in this video about your bin loosing calibration and I was able to relate, I run a 8m frame mounted bourgault drill and I had a heap of trouble with it, I changed out the seals on the top of the bin and changed the auger flighting bearings and I believe it made a difference, however I did sell it on not long after and got a seedhalk drill and I have not looked back. Calibrates and hold its rate from just one weigh in. Food for thought, happy planting 🙌🏽
I've seen other farmers with their Bourgalt seeders change out their augers at the bottom of their tanks. Sometimes those get worn out and it affects their rate they are seeding at. Love the content. Loved the 360 camera angle. Love the podcast.
We had the same problem with calibration on our bourgault box, try doing the calibration with the fans running They say not to but it kind of makes sense for them to be running as it pressurises the box 🤷♂️
I have found on these bins that seeding a couple passes to settle the product and allow it to develop a direction of flow first then calibrate has been my most accurate. To get started I just use a previous cal to make my first few passes. Your right about the individual scales though, would sure be nice.
One thing I’d like to know how you are finding the case against the John Deere. I’ve noticed on Lawson farms when doing precision Work Iseem to do it with a John Deere when they want something that works they do it with a case on walkers farm which seems to be very very similar to your operation there is air seers or one of them is a case. They swear by think it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. i’m talking about the bin with Walker farms.👍🚜
Your unproductive sand, if you don't spray trifluralin it does help and it can become productive again. Yes it may have weeds, but that helps with getting root material to grow and eventually crop will too. Well that's what we are having really good results with here in yellow sand blowouts. Now grow crop consistently through those areas that we could never crop
I was watching the “FAST AG” YT channel and he just bought a mandako roller. Apparently the way you pronounced it is not correct. He explained this after having a lunch with the owner of mandako. Top quality video once again. The 360 view was awesome. Cheers
So JH, are you enjoying the work that Bandit is doing and is it performing better than Art did? And for me, not being either a Case or a John Deere man, it does look much better to me. Also I remember you talking about a new planter. Are you hunting for a larger planter, how much larger, and how much larger can Bandit pull without an issue??
I’m honestly not to sure. I believe it will be left to us, as I’m not sure how they would harvest it as they haven’t maintained the trees. Unless they just harvest it and wood chip it straight away, that would work I guess 🤷
Why don’t you do your seed check with the drill out of the ground as I’ve seen other UA-camrs like Mike Mitchell with the same brand drill as you and it seems easier to see what’s going on and quicker. Love the vids.
The reason we leave it in the ground is if you have the tynes in the air and do a check the product just blows out everywhere so you can’t tell which product came from which Tyne or hose. When it’s in the ground it’s very easy to tell if you have a block and which hose it is.

Haha that’s a first for me, seeing the boom go over the seeder while sowing.

Loved the 360 footage and that song accompanying it rocks!
Hi love your channel. Just wondering if you had considered a hybrid disc/ tyne machine like a Pillar bar so you can still incorporate chemicals.

I don’t think he wants to go bigger but just a better flowing seeder
Hope George brought back a few cases from town😂
What about just putting coulters on the bar to cut up the stubble
so if the government program managing the pines has gone what happens when the lease is up? will the come harvest or will it be on you?

more timelapse footage please
Why a new bar?
