Thank you, your pragmatism regarding the unnecessity of checking the modifiers if the roll is a sure hit, was what finally made me get through my first game. Great video!
About the armor front/side shot, the reason the frontal armor is thicker on side shots is because of armor angling. Tank armor is sloped because it adds effective thickness to it. By hitting the tank when it turned a couple degrees effectively slopes the armor in two dimensions; the normal armor slope (vertical) and the slope from the tank being turned (Horizontal).
Just bought this one and unlike the AH version the map lengths are larger than normal. The upshot is my table isn't big enough to mount more than two MBT maps, as opposed to all four AH ones :/ Looks like I got to buy a bigger table!
@@war_gamer Now just to find a copy that's not extraordinarily overpriced! I would buy this today but I see it's on P500 at about the 150 mark so what does that mean? 2-5 years before republishing?! Bugger.
Hi Kev, great vid and looks like I'll be getting the game! I do have a question though. When you lost the M1 from the strike on the turret side, why wouldn't the turret have been traversed off the axis to the threat? If that was the case the strike would have been in the turret front and perhaps not a penetration? I'm just wondering if the game allows for traversed turrets during movement and the like. Thanks mate.
not sure. I may have done it wrong. the die rolls give results for turret front and side even when shoot from "front". you are not always exactly front on in a 100m hex?

I agree with Bail out rules since 1st Gulf War, one took 23 hits and the crew still took out the enemy.
:)

and I like how the game mimics ATGM'S and their tracking and targeting with different factors such as smoke, moving, lock etc....
yeah lots of good thought went into this.
That was a great peek into the gameplay for this (and therefore Panzer which I'm actually interested in). Thank you!
Cool. Yes the rules are 98% identical except ATGM's , some arty tweaks and of course air.

Ah I see. I suppose that allows for 'other' movement within the hex, jockeying or whatever. Thanks for the response. Looks like a sweet game.
Very nice and useful video.
Thanks.
Yikes. Just got the Panzer reprint (finally), and you're really making me interested in MBT now....ugh...
I have been thinking about this game maybe I will get it
fun times. add the level of detail you want in advanced rules.
how decisive is thermal imaging in this game?
Wargoat6 ine side has it. the other does not. it drops a shots accuracy and lack of it blocks a shot.
loved your comment on ASL LOL!
;)
Why you hating on ASL?
I am glad you acknowledge ASL is superior ;)
im thinking of getting this game MBT can this game be played solo and does it play well solo
MuffoTalksMovies you can but you have to "pretend" the fog of war
Not really good for solo sadly
I really dont like the art work on these maps its a shame.
yeah I agree.
