This is where the belief began for India that they can challenge the bigger teams in matches and chase the bigger scores. When tendulkar got out i still listened to the radio cause i saw kaif s style of batting throught the series was to work the ball around a and accelerate in the last 10 which is something yuvraj also did so i knew it wasnt over yet and thus the birth of new india.

I remember going to bed hopeless and waking up to find India had won. My first expression was 'no way' and then I went on to see the replay and be amazed how the young guys took us home. This is now a core memory for a lot of us.
For the 80s and 90s kids, our stars (Ganguly, Sachin, Sehwag, Laxman, Dravid, Zaheer) were close to retiring and to me, this match was a turning point in Indian cricket, to see younger generation taking lead and win a lot of cups for us.

Time when cricket was a feeling for India. I miss those days now cricket is for commercial purpose only and what more disheartening is that Indian crowd trolling Indian players for the sake of an Ipl match, some national players prioritize club cricket over international cricket . It's just sad.

Although I do not support the shirt remove of SAURAV GANGULY, but keeping in mind what FLINTOFF did in the previous series in INDIA, he got the taste of his own medicine. Hat's off to YUVRAJ SUNGH and MOHAMMAD KAIF. This was the INDIAN team with unity and spirit. SAURAV GANGULY deserve special credit for preparing such a team. Apart from SACHIN TENDULKAR, ANIL KUMBLE, JAVAGAL SRINATH, no other player was completely established when SAURAV GANGULY took the charge. He backed players like RAHUL DRAVID, V.V.S LAXMAN, VIRENDER SEHWAG, HARBHAJAN SINGH, ZAHEER KHAN, ASHISH NEHRA, YUVRAJ SINGH, MOHAMMAD KAIF. Credit goes to all these players also along with support staff, coach JOHN RITE, the selectors and B.C.C.I.
