  • Garden Polytunnels are supplied as standard with a Dummy Door at the rear, which includes a top panel of ventilation net and a lower panel of polythene.
In this video we show you how to build your Dummy Door.
Using a flat surface, position the two timber cross pieces between the two timber posts - the first 12in from one end and the second 34in below the first. Fix the cross pieces to the posts using a nail plate across each join and a 6in nail through the posts into the cross pieces.
Tack a net panel to the top half of the end frame on the opposite side to the nail plates, and a polythene panel to the bottom half, getting as much tension as possible on the polythene.
Nail a timber batten the full width of the end frame along the top edge of the first cross piece to trap the net panel. Nail two full lengths of batten down the outside edge of the posts, butted up to the top batten - these three pieces of batten form the rebate that the cover will be fixed around later.
Finally, nail another batten across the middle of the second cross piece, overlapping both the net and the polythene panels.
