Usually I don't like the Irate Gamer at all. I am admittadly, an AVGN fan. But I do like how IG actually picks games that are good and reviews them. Kudos for that. (:

Apparently Irate Gamer you've never had to deal with the frustration of Blue Shells, or realized that the Wii remote/nunchuck is FAR more efficient than the Wii wheel.
Honestly, this game is like 70% luck, 30% skill.

you can boost RIGHT before it hits. it comes up it circles, and right as it comes down, use a mushroom and it hits the ground (and whoever's behind you)
what the hell chris? the opening is meant to make you curious. if they were on drugs while making this, bowser would be riding in an invisible kart too!! i like the intro!!! it is a definite irate pick because it is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The intro symbolizes the players... That, even though you're not in a car, you get the feeling that you are in a car because you hold the wheel... At least, thats what they're trying to tell us...
Even though, Mario Kart Wii still is one of my favorite racing games... Hell, I think its actually one of my favorite games of all time... I especially love the soundtrack!! Nintendo surely got my attention with this game!

PS3 is all graphics, no gameplay. Wii brings back what it really means to be a gamer, FUN! Today's players aren't true gamers, they're geeks with a bad attitude.

the intro was just showing the competitve edge between players when they play this game.
It also shows how much you'll get into the game.
Multiplayer just makes everyone in my family get pissed of at each other.
You forgot to mention that you can play as your mii, very cool! :)
I love this game but there are some things that annoy me. They gave the stragglers way too much power. If you end up last and get an item box, you'll probably get a Bullet Bill or a golden mushroom that will massively help you. But if you get first, you always get bananas, fake item boxes, and the occasional mushroom.

Computers can manipulate physiscs in my game, because they can push me in the air when they aren't even near.
i played all the mario kart games starting with the first one to come out, and i still love playing them. i like this one because you can race people around the world. now that is something none of the other ones did before. ^-^
The power-ups have really been the coolest part (to me) on this franchise.
not quite, this rule applies to the players too, the karts in the back posisons always get the better items, the further back you are, the better your items. thouse in last place get, blue shells, giant mushrooms, bullent bills, and all the cool items while first place is stuck with banana peals. there's still a chance of getting the good items, but it's very small.

one thing I have to mention that you didn't: The multiplayer is very crippled by the fact that the mini map takes up a lot of the screen. If you're playing on the bottom in a two player game, the mini map covers the upper right corner of your screen, making it very hard to make turns in dark courses especially, like the ghost track.

I am a huge fan of this game. I have actually earned gold trophies in every cup, using only one character....... Bowser. No cheats of any kind were used.

I got the chance to play bits of this in both modes, and I gotta say playing with the wheel is a lot more enjoyable than playing with the controller. When I FINALLY get a Wii I'll be sure to pick this one up.
This game is awesome and I am a HUGE fan of the show.
While Chris Bores can't act all that well, at least he isn't saying "I'd rather press my face up against a hippopotamus' butt while it muck-spreads" (James Rolfe's Crazy Castle review).

My mum has actually bought a Wii (kind of shows the Universal appeal!) for Wii fit etc. I have a 360, PSP, PS2 as my main consoles, don't have enough room for jumping about in front of a Wii! Love Nintendo though - Mario Kart came with it and a couple of Nunchucks so am looking forward to Xmas with the folks but also looking forward to some Wii goodness! Hope everyone has a great Xmas!

What I love about this is the on line mode and all of the unlockables, unlike MK64, no extra characters and no koopa troopa :(

There is one MASSIVE problem with this game.It's called Mario KART Wii,but this game is mostly bikes.The karts suck,the bikes are where it's at

mario kart wii is great because of its amazing wifi, but would be a whole lot better if they kept bob-omb battle (especially with wifi), let you play 4 player split online, and had a doubles option (because i miss doing all cup tour as a team). and where are the character specials?
point is, it's a great mario kart game, i've played it a lot, i recommend it. i would like to see tricks, voice chat (woah, so much funny cussing to be had), and wiiwheels. in the future of the series :D

What Nintendo should do is make a new F-Zero game that uses the Wii wheel. That would be awesome.
I own the GC version, and I also played the Wii version at a friend of mine.
The GC version is WAY better, more options, better controls, option to drive together in one car.

you forgot to mention the biggest change in the game, and the only Mario Kart to do so, and that was to include BIKES!
I consider him to be more of an extension of the AVGN, AVGN reviews the classics, and Irate Gamer does the modern stuff, in a similar but unique style
Indeed, Mario Kart Wii is another great game for the Wii! Irategamer, you should also check out "Super Mario Galaxy" and "Super Paper Mario". Those are also excellent games!
