  • The third part of the vintage movie: "Israel in Songs" that takes you on a journey in Israel - through music and songs from the land and the people ( Including retro footage & Historical archives)
Continuous violent struggles with our Arab neighbours were fought in this part of the world from the beginning of the renewed Zionist days, and the establishement of Israel came about after a long and bloody war. Since then and up to this day we are still battling an uncompromising struggle with some of these same neighbors. After wars and violent struggles, in 1979 a peace agreement between Israel and Egypt, and in 1995 the peace treaties were signed with Jordan and with the Palestinian Movement. Israel's aspiration for peace with all her neighboring countries continues.
Many songs were written during and following the war & the peace days, in this section of the film you can find:
1.Yerushalayim shel zahav (Jerusalem the Golden) written in 1967 and sung by the Sharim Beyachad group
    2. Bab El Wad sung by Yaffa Yarkoni, this song remembers the fighters and the convoy people that fell on the Guy pass - called in Arabic "Bab El Wad" during the Jewish fighters attempts to push for a breakthrough in the road to Jerusalem- then under siege.
3 Machar (Tomorrow) - One of the most typical Israeli songs where the desire for peace is strongly conveyed. Sung by Hagevatron Singers
    4. Kshe'yavo Shalom (When peace will come) Sung by Hagevatron Singers
    5. Hevenu Shalom Aleichem (Peace unto you) Sung by Hagevatron Singers
