Your good, you got questions. In non-electronic mixed acoustic music, the conductor is essential. They not only keep the beat and the tempo of all those people, they actually know every note of each performer. The conductor corrects you if you are off pitch or entering at the wrong time!

The conductor here is US-American Sahra Hicks, born in 1970. Look her up.

There is 106 Musicians in this orchestra , the job of the conductor is to keep the tempo her job is vital , if you remove the conductor it's like removing a battery from a tv remote it just won't work 🤣

There are 106 in this orchestra.
BTW: The Orchestra was "born" on the 28th of October 1925!.......... So next year is the 100th birthday and knowing DR (I am a Dane), they won't waste a good celebration. Maybe something big is coming, who knows? Keep an eye on their homepage.

The conductor pretty much keeps everything in sync. The guy with the hammer is playing the chimes.

This is the theme song to a Clint Eastwood movie of the same name; released in 1966. My brothers and I along with our friends used to whistle this theme while playing gunfighter with our cap guns. ( The "whiskey bottle" instrument is called an ocarina; made famous by "Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time" video game) 😊

Yes! Finally another person who asks me real questions. Why do extremely talented vocalists and musicians need someone to tell them how and when to play their part? If you know your part and can keep timing then wouldn't your ears be a better conductor than visual ques?

Most seem to overlook, Cristine are up there in the rafers with the audience, with her voice, squaring off against a fully armed symphony orchestra.

One of my favorite movies. Clint Eastwood is a bad ass 👍🏼 To be invited to play in any national orchestra means you’re top level.

The Danish National Symphony is great. I grew up watching all the spaghetti westerns with Clint Eastwood. I absolutely love all the theme songs from them. I have the "Hugo Montenegro" version doing all the theme songs (A Fistful Of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More & The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, Hang 'Em High) on record & on cd. It is one of my favorite albums.

The one that you think looks like a bottle of whiskey is a wood instrument called Ocarina
You gotta react to their other performance with the title For a Few Dollars More

    Great reaction Sceez!
The Danish National Symphony Orchestra has quite a few videos on UA-cam from movies and tv including: James Bond, Star Wars, Star Trek, The Godfather, Fifth Element, Game Of Thrones, The Pink Panther, LoTR. I suggest you react to Misty Mountain from The Hobbit next.
Edit: to say, check out the comments on this video too, some of them are hilarious
Edit2: also maybe check out Home Free’s own Tim Foust’s cover of Misty Mountain, it’s a collab with Peter Hollens

This Concert has been seen an absurd amount of times, and as a Dane I'm very proud, though the Wah Wah lady is a Norwegian, and one of the finest Mezzo-sopranos in the world by that!

Yes she is needed to keep everyone on track, there are so many repeating notes that they're all reading. It would be easy to get off track

the conductor also researches the music and tells the performers how she wants thing done or there could specific parts she wants played in a certain way, she decides what is played and when :)

I am a DJ, did play in a symphony in my teenage years but I was not good and didn't like the instrument that was forced me to play. Orchestra, band, even DJing is a matter of Sync. The conductor is there to make sure of every details, the band look @ each other on a live performance to make sure everyone's one the same page and if you all notice @ 7:17, the oboae player looks up to make sure, Mrs. Nonbo, ready to sing.

The conductor is the ultimate coach with hands controlling every aspect of every sound that’s being preformed, like listening to the ocean and it’s heartbeat.

conductors movements tell the orchestra the "time signature" of the piece, also intonation of different sections,,,loud/quiet/soft/hard/ slow/fast

They're amazing....everything they do is amazing, Tuva Semmingsen (wah wah) is a mezzo-soprano and she is awesome, go check out the other videos by her and them, the composer is the late Ennio Morricone (1928-2020) and he's a legend as he should be, he did all the scores for those kinds of movies known as Spaghetti Westerns which catapulted Clint Eastwood to global superstar status, what you're listening to now is from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly but there's also A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More and capped off by Once Upon a Time in the West, all directed by legendary Italian director Sergio Leone (1929-1989) his last film was 1984's Once Upon a Time in America which starred Robert De Niro and James Woods, the composer and director here have had a massive influence on many current composers and directors, the works by them are stunning. As a side note, look at the aforementioned Tuva Semmingsen and she's wearing a gun shaped earing. The soprano in the balcony is Christine Nobo Anderson, the woman in charge, Sarah Hicks (born Tokyo, Japan, raised in Honolulu, Hawaii) is a Japanese-American orchestral conductor
