The reason the 0-60 time didn't really change is because of the fact that the traction-limited acceleration of a car is actually completely independent of its weight. The Ghurka, on the other hand, will be much slower to 60 - it is never traction limited (since the traction of the car is vastly greater than its power), so its acceleration is power limited even at very slow speeds.

You should make a really light car, like 1000 pounds. Then add it's original weight back using downforce, add 2000hp, and make it a super fast racecar that can beat records. By that I mean, try and beat some records.

Bit late to the party but I didn't see anyone else post it.
The reason lightening it didn't make it fly further, is ballistics is not dependent on weight.
All that matters is the speed of the object and the angle of launch.
A 500lb and 2000lb car will go the same distance, if launched at the same speed and angle.
