Most Mysterious Song has been my little pet since I live in Germany and began my career as a radio archivist. I _knew_ the answer was very plain, but the piece of documentation just needed to be found. It's not surprising to me how quickly it all came together once the old stuff was seen. I feel like 2025 will be such an amazing year for Lost Media. It's not a niche nerdy thing anymore. Trendy eyes toward these searches will uncover things so lost that most don't remember the existence at all!
It was a constant revisit for the longest time I even went through over 30 mix tapes that were a mix of European and German musicians and musical groups I always have my mix tapes labeled properly it wasn't in my collection but I did have a few songs from Fex I was so close yet so far away
2024 seemed to be a great year for really old pieces of media being found. Some examples include Bram Stoker's 1890 short story Gibbet Hill, the 1918 western film The Scarlet Drop and the 1930 animated short Buster Bear.
I am so glad that the E3 2010 Paper Mario trailer was found, this is the first piece of lost media that I was actively searching for so it feels so incredible that it was actually found. I think it was interesting how it was twice as long as we thought it was since the clean audio recording from NWR was only half of the length.
12:50 Technically, that same vampire Otis image (while still not being a fully body image) is used on the title screen of the online game Back at the Barnyard: Creepy Candy Craze from 2008. There's also a fully animated model of vampire Otis who the player plays as in that same online game. Plus the game over screen has a different image of vampire Otis distributed by the sunrise of November 1.
Nah man, the finds this year are way bigger than a Sesame Street episode. The main difference being Sesame Street is a big name, so stuff from that will show up sooner or later. The things that showed up this year are all more obscure things pop culture-wise, so it's more impressive that they were found. The Backrooms was just some non-descript office interior, no reason to think that would ever be found, and yet here we are. No reason to think some evidently D-list celebrity would be found. No reason to think a bunch of obscure songs would be found. And yet these things appeared.
Subways of your Mind fun fact: Ture (the singer of the band) was contacted by a Czech around the same time and asked about it. The thing is that the Czech didn't publish anything, but did the research himself. The fact that two people came to the same conclusion while people were puzzling over it for 17 years is absurdly low, but ultra cool.
Oh, hey! LSSQ talking about Shocktober again is the perfect Christmas present for me! Those Spongebob Shocktober boxers are news to me, nobody's posted those to the thread.
Marionova is an amazing user. Helps with Sunshine modding, and is a contributor to Super Mario Elements, the next huge Sunshine mod after Super Mario Eclipse. He's such a nice dude.
2:48 "I got the impression it was made to insult internet culture rather than explore it" Exactly. This was looooong before internet culture was pop culture, the internet had it's own distinct and separate subculture, and just as with any subculture that wasn't mainstream it was a fair target for jokes, mockery, and misunderstanding. Today we have shows that will bring something made on the internet and show it on mainstream media because it's all pop culture. Back then they looked into internet culture from the outside, and internet culture was firmly considered to be not of pop culture.
I am hoping for another case of Lost Media we never knew even existed. I mean, we got 2 pitch pilots for 2 very different Americanized versions of Saint Seyia because of the search for Americanized Sailor Moon lost media. That was pure kismet. Looking for one thing and finding an entire treasure trove.
LSuperSonicQ does mentioned it in 7:31, but the saddest part is that the early build of Paper Mario: Sticker Star look a lot better, if not faithful to the first two Paper Mario games considering that we have partners behind the plumber's back, than the one we got now.
16:55 you forgot to censor the dudes name at the bottom. also it's better to black out the text rather than blurring because people can use certain programs to decode the blurred text
I love these updates. I'm still trying to get a few of my personal lost media and while i asked for help on UA-cam, i may have to go to Reddit or the lost media wiki to ask about it. Not sure which one is better/safer. I wonder if it would be possible to make that game now for the sega X fox kids entry.
2:40 that short, blink-and-you'll-miss it clip of the green alien getting crushed by the disco ball was from the first youtube video i ever saw. I remember my teacher showing it to us in class, I tried to find it at home and never could, and that's how I became an internet addict lol
nice finds! just letting you know that in 16:58 you forgot to blur his full name and the blurred segments are sorta easily readable, maybe use a black bar?
HII LSSQ!! I hope you do a livestream soon since I have some lost media myself that I've only found one reddit post of! Also I enjoyed the 1st chapter of you pink ninja book lol I would like to do fanart :3 anyway thanks for uploading!
Hey, just wanted to let you know you missed an instance of John's full name, under his photo on the newspaper at 16:55 . Not sure if you'll be able to edit it out or not.
The P!ATD playlist clip from the beginning had me freaking out for a second, was the clip supposed to be referring or alluding to something or was it there just because? Regardless of the clip, the video itself was amazing as always :)
Since August this year lots of episodes of a show called The black and white minstrel show that ran on the BBC between 1958-78 started appearing on the internet before August there were just clips and 1 full and 1 partial episodes available
I still want to find the Thomas and Friends IoI (not lOl, ioi, which stands for Institute Of Innovation) short Btw, I think that I (kind of) remember what Peck (shocktober) was about, I remember he was a Headless horseman (without head, like that chicken who lived without a head) but I can't confirm it, since I don't remember that much of those years, but I do remember some of the images from the bumpers (most of the ones that are found)
Kinda sad that the most mysterious song has been found. I'm excited and was thrilled that it got found but I kinda liked it's mysterious history- it was always something you thought you possibly knew but couldn't identify it exactly.
When FEX was found I decided to listen to it and come to find out someone had already posted it with the title 2yrs ago but they could've easily changed it after it was found out
What I want to see are Disney Channel’s Pop Up/What’s What Edition, Nicktoons’ Also Sprach Zarathustra promo and ACTUAL footage of Class of 3000’s City bumpers
Out of all the Nickelodeon characters in the Shocktober bumper, Danny Phantom cosplaying as Erik from Phantom of the Opera goes hard not gonna lie.
Hello again, lol.
I love Danny Phantom
The original paper mario sticker star trailer was found
Otis as a vampire goes hard too, ngl.

@@chocobear4078Yeah,but nothing will defeat December 2023

The last time I was this early the Clockman was still considered a myth
im so happy the paper mario trailer was found, me and my friend have been wanting to see it for a long time now
Same. I've wanted to see that thing for a year, so I'm glad someone put it up
As a PM fan, I'm glad this went from obscure to found.
@@WOBBLEMASTERsame
We were so close to Sticker Star being an actually good game, that's crazy
@@lordhector2814 Sticker Star is already a good game. What are you talking about?

For the Otis Shocktober art, that design (but not exact art) is used in a Back at the Barnyard flash game called Creepy Candy Craze!
I remember playing that game, it's very fun
YES
I am so glad that the E3 2010 Paper Mario trailer was found, this is the first piece of lost media that I was actively searching for so it feels so incredible that it was actually found. I think it was interesting how it was twice as long as we thought it was since the clean audio recording from NWR was only half of the length.
i think that this find makes 2024 the true best year for found media
I would love to see some Crash Bandicoot and Spyro lost media.
This, there's a bunch of cancelled, lost and obscure Crash and Spyro media out there that might be of interest to cover
Yep, 2024 is the new best year imo. I already think 2025 will prove to be even bigger. Cheers to all the finders out there! 🍻🥳

The lost songs of Vocaloid Producer Scapegoat-P were reuploaded by Scapegoat-P himself in October. 😅
Average Lost Media Wiki W as always
I'm disappointed "Me and my Friends'' has yet to be found. But I hope it will be found sometime next year!

I would say finding Subways of your mind makes this the best year of lost media.
Can't believe to this day, nobody has found the song "All these days" by bret reilly from something about mary.
This gives me hope for London After Midnight
I hate to say it but that's never going to happen, it's been long, long gone. I'd love to be wrong, though.

Makes sense Sega wouldn’t make a random game designed by a kid.
What a strange contest
honestly those shocktober renders go hard ngl
Was not expecting to hear the Sklar Brothers get mentioned. was a fan of their comedy central special.
2023 and 2024 are still the best years for lost media in my opinion.

Hey LSSQ! What do you think of the channel SiIvaGunner recently having a Lost Media Wiki event that featured Kekcroc?

4.1 million views why would that result in getting cancelled? did they expect more views??
Hope to find the rest of the US version of Mr. Men and Little Miss in 2025
