Instructions for the breadsticks (not the sauce, sorry):
    1. In a large bowl, put in 2 tsp sugar, 1/4 c warm water, 1 tsp dried active yeast. Let sit for 5 min to bloom the yeast.
    2. Add 1 cup warm water, ~1/8 cup of olive oil, 2 1/2 cups bread flour or AP flour, and 1 tsp salt.
    3. Mix on low with the dough hook attachment for 5-10 minutes. Mix until the dough bounces back when poked.
    4. Lightly dust a working surface with flour, place dough onto it and knead into a ball. Roll to fit your pan.
    5. Heavily oil your pan with olive oil and place your dough into the pan. Cover it with plastic wrap and let rise for 90 min.
    *[Preheat oven to 475°F / 246°C]*
    6. In a separate bowl: Mix 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese, 1 tsp dried oregano, 1 tsp dried basil, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, and 1/2 tsp black pepper.
    7. After the dough has risen cut into breadstick rectangles with a bench scraper or butter knife.
    8. Lightly coat the soon-to-be breadsticks with melted butter and place into the oven for 10 min.
    9. Take the breadsticks out of the oven and spray it with another coating of melted butter and add your parmesan topping.
    10. Bake for another 5 min.
    11. Cool on a cooling rack and serve :)

Karlene Karlenes The amount the recipe called for resulted in a soupy dough. This was because he used bread flour and I only had All Purpose flour. But the extra cup of flour got it together to form the dough as it appeared in the video. It was honestly worth baking. I have this recipe saved now for whenever I want to make it again in the future. 🤗

I just realized that the result of the dough depends on where you are, i live in a hot and humid area, so mine came out sticky, but after i lessen the water by 1/4 cup. It came out alright, and i made this recipe thrice already because we just love it. You recipe is easy too specially for beginners like me, so thank you!

yeah this is why massing dry ingredients makes for much better recipes. a cup of flour can vary by something like up to 20% due to a number of factors

    • @cookingwithkyo5744
      @cookingwithkyo5744  4 роки тому +4

It is a song in the IMovie app, it’s under soundtracks, “theme music” and it’s called “simple”. Unfortunately there is no composer name or credit. Check out the song in my newest videos, a buddy of mine that goes by “sleepy creek” wrote it, it’s called “waiting in line” thanks for watching!

with all purpose flower, i find the dough to be very wet and sticky. i added about 1 cup more of flour but i dont know exactly because i did it tablespoon at a time :( i added flour until the dough stopped sticking to all sides of the bowl. hope this helps someone !!! :)

Same happened to me so I added a tbsp of flour at a time till it stopped sticking. It was probably user error, but they came out too thick. Next time I will use a bigger tray.

I have made this recipe twice already and both came out successful! ^-^
I'd like to share with you what I did in case anyone has a similar situation:
Both times I did not use a bread maker (I kneaded it by hand) which could maybe be the reason why I experienced this:
1st time I followed the exact measurements for the dough and it came out extremely sticky! I had the hardest time forming a ball with it and I needed to add a lot more flour (I don't recall how much, I was eyeing & feeling it out) in order to get a less sticky consistency. Despite this, they came out so delicious! And the bread wasn't tough at all.
They did turn out more crunchy.
2nd time I decided to use less water than what was asked. Instead of a cup of water, I used a little less than 3/4 cup of water. This time I didn't need to add any extra flour, it was much easier to knead!
The texture of these breads were softer and more fluffy.
Also, keep in mind to use WARM WATER! I was scared the first time thinking I killed my yeast with water that was more than warm.
Overall, both times were suuuuper yummy! For plant based eaters, you can use vegan mozzarella or parmesan cheese (I used mozzarella shreds and it worked just fine!).
I am happy to have found this recipe :) Thank you for sharing friend.

I love how little yeast is used and how long the rise time is. These breadsticks were super low fuss. I used a good quality olive oil, and made the crust without parm because I didn’t have any. Finished product was delicious. I doubled the recipe, starting with 5 cups flour and 2.5 cups warm water. Ended up using 6, 1/4cups flour total. Never had a firm ball like the video. Dough was still a bit shaggy. But the breadsticks were a great success and my grandkids gobbled them up.
