- Shadow of the Erdtree is looking to be yet another From Software win.
In an age where DLC usually means a small piece of content for an inflated price, SotE appears to be the size of a full game in length and at the very least, a genuine expansion like we used to get back in the day.
Several usual suspect journalists have taken to leaving negative reviews for attention, or in one case, using her review as a way to whinge and cry about criticism she's received from those who don't appreciate her "toxic male gamer" rhetoric.
Sadly, this is nothing new, just a reminder that video games "journalism" should be ignored in most cases.
"It's not quite a hot take to suggest that 'Game Journalists' are incompetent, they're hacks, they don't know what they're doing" - Haha... I love the nonchelant epic burns. 10/10 delivery.

I think future generations will never believe that journalism used to be a respected profession where the writers objectively reported on what was happening and tried to be neutral and people were even willing to pay for journalism. Now it's just opinion pieces, personal grievances and agenda pushing. I haven't read a gaming site review in at least 5 years, better and more objective is to just read Steam reviews nowadays.

Eurogamer thing I don't understand...they had Aoife that genuinely loves From games, but they gave Zoey (the one that was brought in for identity politics and shit) to review it. And she is bad at games in general.

"Still brutally difficult, more so than the base game"? Are they serious? Of course, the DLC will be more difficult than the base game, This is how it was meant to be, always been since dark souls 1. Did they even played previous souls games?

Yeah I absolutely agree with you. I'm an old gamer and I can tell you that EVERY games company you love will eventually be taken over by people who will ruin things. If you're lucky, the good people will leave and start another company, but that doesn't always happen, and it still hurts to see what you used to love die.

I played FF7 when It came out baldurs gate 1 and 2. My first console was the atari 2600 then the Nintendo supernintendo playstation 1 2 3 4 then pc. The games are more expensive and yet in a lot of ways often aren't very good .
You have to be careful with reviews. The first question I asked of Starfield reviewers was do you play space games? I didn't find one pre-launch reviewer that did. So instead of trusting people with no experience, I trusted my eyes. They didn't lie to me. Forget scores. You have to find a like-minded individual with the proper experience and hear what they say. And if you can't, the only thing you should believe is what you find out for yourself before buying.
The definite one I can stand behind is the Controls being crap.
Those "Souls-like" Games with the mandatory Lock-on piss me off so hard, I ditched the whole Genre. No one did it right.
If you want to Jank around with a Gamepad, I get it, but we have those Games on PC with perfectly capable Mouse aim and numerous Buttons on the Mouse and a Keyboard.
It's just TRASH Controls, ask Asmongold who just yesterday was on the brink to switch to Gamepad again. And he never plays on a Gamepad - And he shouldn't have to!
one these reviewers seem to have a bit of anti asian sentiment and also will down play anything thats not part of the woke idealogy, and then when people tell you that theres a grift going on to start to see it come together

Asmongold roasted Alyssa because she called different things in the game incorrectly. And if anyone reads these reviews on IGN or something like that and doesn't buy a game because of their review, then that person is not smart.

I bought Elden Ring on sale for about 30 dlls, and feel cheated, From Software always make the same game with very subtle differences over and over, I don´t get why their games are so praised.
I don't hate any of the from soft games and I think they are all good, but I get you, you make a good point
From soft will never release a bad game. It may not be the game I WANT. But it will be great. I love that you used the DS2 Majula track. Love all your points 👉
