Watching some matches of FZD in the early stage of his careers (age 16, 17), I've noticed that he screamed so much (still less compared to Harimoto lol) but years to years, he controls and only screams when needed. I believe that, after those screaming matches, China's coach "takes care" of him so well and that's the reason why he (with Ma Long) becomes the best player in CNT.
Fan Zhendong could have won the 2017 WTTC Single and should have won the 2019 WTTC Single. The 2019 version of Ma Long was not as strong as Fan Zhendong while the 2017 Ma Long barely won against Mr. Fan.
Fan is familiar with Xu Xin's game being his team mate.That's not the case with Harimoto.Fan has poor touch and once injuries start to creep in he won't be able to sustain his level.He's robotic as hell.

Fan Zhendong is great but his playing recently has not been so good. Ma Long is still the best player in the world. Liu Guoliang and all the CNT coaches will agree on that.
