Jaffar was an awesome character. I felt afraid to face him when I first played the game, and when I managed to have him join my party, I used him in every battle afterwards. Despite his ability to take orders without question, he does have a sensitive side, which made him compelling. Good choice!
Okay, so if the assassin gives you a constint hard on then she(in this case) doesn't make the cut. I know the Femme Fatal thing is overly used, but if you think about it it's the best weapon. It's a natural ability to lure in targets using their own primative impulses.
Another well constructed list, Oscar. A little disappointed that Zevran Araini from Dragon Age and HK-47 from Knights of the Old Republic aren't on here but I was freaking ecstatic when I saw Thane!

Where is Corvo from Dishonored? He's so silent and sneaky you can actually finish the game without killing anyone but your primary targets.. And he kicks ass in open combat too.

Itionobo focuses on Nintendo Games, Fiery Joker and Autarch of Flame deal in unconventional topics, and you talks about video game characters. So whenever I want to see a specific Countdown made, I know who to go to, and that's some pretty good organization right there. ^_^

Good list, and I will respect the characters you have put on it, Ezio in particular. However if you don't mind, I'd like to talk about one particular assassin character that I love but sadly seems to often be overlooked... and that is Zevran from "Dragon Age: Origins". Zevran is a member of an assassin's guild known as the Antivan Crows, and when the Grey Warden (the player character) first meets him, he attempts to assassinate him/her. After beating him in combat and interrogating him for information, you have two options: kill him, or do what most players do and allow him to join the party... and it's well worth it! I'll cover his personality first: this sexy elvish assassin with an accent that rivals Antonio Banderas is constantly flirting with his fellow party members, and it is frickin' hilarious to listen to! Just look up any party banter involving Zevran and you'll see what I mean. Also, back in Antiva he frequently seduced his targets (regardless of gender) before he killed them. He has a reason for his behavior: Zevran was taught to take his pleasures where he can get them, since he never knows when his next day could be his last. As a result, he tried not to get too attached to any one person in the past. Despite his usual carefree demeanor, his back-story prior to the game's events is actually pretty tragic. In time, if the Warden has garnered a sufficient approval rating with Zevran, he will reveal the specifics of some of his missions as a Crow. The last job he performed in Antiva was to be carried out with the assistance of his fellow assassins, Taliesen and Rinna. Zevran explains that he had become genuinely smitten with Rinna in a way that directly conflicted with his assassin training. But as the trio planned their attack, Taliesen learned that Rinna had accepted a bribe from their mark and was planning to betray them. Zevran watched Taliesen kill her, callously mocking her pleas of innocence and dying declarations of love for him, and the two men carried out the mission on their own. Only after their target was dead did they discover the real source of their victim's information, which in turn proved Rinna had been telling the truth. Heartbroken and disgusted by his actions, Zevran returned to the Crows and made a bid for what many believed was a suicide mission: kill any remaining Grey Wardens in Ferelden. He took the job hoping to die at the hands of legendary heroes, only to have his would-be killers show him the mercy he had not given Rinna. I won't tell you anything else that happens in-game, since there are different ways the game could go; you'll just have to see for yourself. ;) Now as far as romancing him goes, Zevran is bisexual and is therefore a romance option for both male and female Wardens. Due to his flirtatious nature, it's quite easy to start a relationship with him. However, Zevran finds himself quite surprised by a stable romantic relationship with the Warden. Though his reputation as a laughing lover is not undeserved, Zevran had--until meeting the Warden--assumed his life would consist only of "shallow encounters and jobs to be completed," and that he himself was undeserving and in fact incapable of love. A blooming romance with the Warden forces Zevran to confront and admit his own deep feelings. As much as the Warden benefits from Zevran's company, it is fair to say as well that their love is literally life-changing for the assassin. As far as gameplay goes, Zevran is a Rogue with (what else?) the Assassin specialization. As such, he is a master of stealth and poisons, and can use either a bow or dual-wield daggers and/or swords. If the Warden is a Rogue, he/she can actually learn the Assassin specialization from him, and he's only too happy to teach it. The decisions you make while he's in the party rarely affect his approval rating as he's a relatively neutral character, but if the decision benefits his fellow elves, there is a chance of a higher approval rating. While he is a capable fighter, Zevran is worth taking along even just for the party banter. In short, I just plain love this guy and I always have trouble choosing between him and fellow male romance option Alistair. Either way, you'll be glad to have him around. :)

Investigations 2 added more to Shelly De Killer’s character. He gains a tremendous amount of respect for Bastion Rook, for being one of the very few people to injure him, so when De Killer learns that Rook was murdered, he does whatever he can to help Edgeworth uncover the truth behind it.
In my opinion I think anyone from the Dark Brotherhood (Elder Scrolls Games) should be somewhere on this list. But you gave some great reasons behind your choices for this list. Great video!

I was hoping to see #3 on this list. He is my second favorite character from the squad (my initial favorite being the Professor) and I just cry when his story ends and I cry some more when you hold a memorial service for him in the third game.
Funny thing, prior to seeing that you had this countdown, I was thinking of Countdowns to include the TF2 characters, with Assassins for Spy, and what I'd say is I'd focus on stealthy quick-kill badasses more than Kill all in sight hack-and-slash badasses, or something along those lines. In fact, I was imagining what it would be like if there was a character who referred the UAA to the UWA, calling the assassins warriors instead and speaking about why it is an error for the association to consider this an assassin league, due to the dueling nature. It... might need work.
Just like with the whip wielders, I wasn't exactly expecting Shelley De Killer to be on the list. Given that, of the main series games, he's only in one of them. It's a pleasant surprise, especially after all the games with physical combat!

I'd love to see a list of (Sports Equipment/gardening tools as weapons), (powertools *chainsaws could be their own list), (toys *plushies might have enough to be their own lists*), and "unique" weapons (which usually defy the laws of physics).

I was thinking guts could be included in a separate countdown, with "Brutes." Much slower than bezerkers, and a bit less focused on savage, all-out war. Travis, Kratos, Akuma, Rampardos would all fit this category. Also, I would like to add....You're a smart person :D

Question: would Axel (Kingdom Hearts) have been a qualifier at least? Since he was sent in to sabotage Marluxia's uprising, and is usually always left with the "icky jobs". And is in charge of the Assassin Nobodies.

I suppose it's possible, since most of the jobs he's given seem to involve killing others, including members of his own order, and like you said he controls the Assassin Nobodies. Axel's also one of the best double agents I've seen in a game, even throwing Vexen for a loop when he shows up to kill him. (It's okay tho, I never really liked Vexen) Not to mention, his attacks are fast and unforgiving and I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of those flames! Axel is one assassin I would definitely want on my side!

I totally agree. I haven't ever played a Final Fantasy game, but I dread having countdown artists bring it up because it's always "TEEDUS IZ STOOPID" or "KLOWD IZ EMOOOOOOOOO"
6) Fire Emblem Assassins rock. While I only know Gaius from Awakening (who is freakin' HILARIOUS), this guy sounds awesome. 5) Another obligatory entry. Still, the TF2 cast is full of personality, so it's understandable. 4) Figured this one out a bit after I read Phoenix Wright: Justice for All. A unique assassin. Uses magic (or what ever it is, I haven't played the game), has amazing skills, is really badass, and uses awesome weapons.
Just want to note that Kat's Shunpo isn't a teleport, since a shunpo is more along the lines of quick-step where you move too fast to be seen.

I was thinking guts could be included in a separate countdown, with "Brutes." Much slower than bezerkers, and a bit less focused on savage, all-out war. Travis, Kratos, Akuma, Rampardos would all fit this category.

Question: would Axel (Kingdom Hearts) have been a qualifier at least? Since he was sent in to sabotage Marluxia's uprising, and is usually always left with the "icky jobs". And is in charge of the Assassin Nobodies.

I suppose it's possible, since most of the jobs he's given seem to involve killing others, including members of his own order, and like you said he controls the Assassin Nobodies. Axel's also one of the best double agents I've seen in a game, even throwing Vexen for a loop when he shows up to kill him. (It's okay tho, I never really liked Vexen) Not to mention, his attacks are fast and unforgiving and I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of those flames! Axel is one assassin I would definitely want on my side!

Your right. I only put Ras'Al Ghoul up there because he is in a videogame and is the leader of an assassins cult and Catherine because she leads men to their deaths. My bad. Thanks for pointing out the differences :)
I totally agree. I haven't ever played a Final Fantasy game, but I dread having countdown artists bring it up because it's always "TEEDUS IZ STOOPID" or "KLOWD IZ EMOOOOOOOOO"
