Ants are the toughest bug type opponents so yes they are tough That dungeon in jeju island was an S rank gate We learnt in the first episode that if a dungeon isn't cleared within a certain time, dungeon break occurs and monsters inside the dungeon come outside, so you can imagine an S rank dungeon to break out, so they evacuated the island and left the island to those mosters
Yes, the ants we saw in ep 1 were incredibly powerful (I assume the red worker ants to be equal to B-rank hunters while the white soldier ants would be A-rank), not to mention that the dungeon boss is constantly spawning more ants. Jeju Island was an S-rank dungeon break. Also next week is gonna be hype!!

I can confirm jinwoo is still B rank and after completing this dungeon and some more dungeon he be in A rank fighting knight soldier and boss at ep 11 & 12 he will getnew title. After completing the gate his level will be likely S rank.

The thing is,they haven't even faced the strong ants and yet was beaten up soo hard that's why it was considered as a failure.And they are planning to go back and clear it.Yes it is a S-rank dungeon break tht happened there.
I'm getting the vibe that A-1 will give us something different from the manhwa and i dunno if it will be better or worse than manhwa but i think they are doing a great job at building the hype and the story for the future upcoming events that will happen
I really don't want to spoil the thing with ranking as the whole argument of the ranking equivalent is very much off the mark for everyone. For instance, if a Powerful B-Rank Hunter with the same sort of skills as Jinwoo faced off against Cerberus, there is NO chance at all that him alone could defeat him, it's impossible, he would need people fighting with him. That Jinwoo can even when he's heavily underleveled for it (he was at the same strength as a C Rank boss in that fight) and everything I said that is said very specifically as it matters. But as of right now, Jinwoo is (if I'm remembering correctly) is in the stat area of a Medium level B-Rank. Which is saying a lot as he's the strongest one of the team that chose to show up there.
In manhwa this is we call episode like this "calm before storm" if you read manhwa when come to suspence scene or aperence of hype charecter you will see word "dun dun" like make it sound background music
Dunno if the full fight will happen in the next ep or not but they are hiring top tier animator for the upcoming episodes so I'm guessing that either they will blow us away or they will at least meet our expectation
Just fyi, Cerberus was definitely at max B rank, bcz, we the manhwa readers know, that there are 1000s more monsters in that castle on every floor which are much tougher than the Cerberus, and the Demon King is SS+, bcz we know, that its even harder for multiple S-ranks to defeat a locally spawned S-rank Gate on Jeju Island, so it's safe to assume that on every particular rank dungeon, the boss of that dungeon is supposed to be a rank or 2 higher than the overall mana range of the dungeon itself.
On manhwa, Jin Ho's Father explain that he want to create a guild to their safety because he believe that in the current Status of the world the hunters have more power and authority than the goverment. That why he want to create a guild and hire trustworthy hunter to protect their family
I think only the survivors of that dungeon are the only hunters thst got the message to do this particular dungeon. With those prisoners (probably on death row) I think they are there to test them all and Jinwoo.
It might just be a business decision: additional income from gate materials & monster drops. Also, some gates open up at construction sites. Delays can be costly & having a strike team ready to deal with them is good business.

Lots of manhwa reader's are hating on this episode and i know why because I'm also impatient to see the next fights but i think this kind of story building is needed for the anime only watchers and it's not like the episode was bad to watch
That’s not what I took from his father’s speech. Seemed to me as though he just didn’t like that the guilds had that much power and controlled all the resources from the dungeons. They also don’t have an S-rank hunter on their side yet. They are actively trying to get one to leave the guild they are a part of already to join the Yoojin guild.

The anime is about a former ninja who’s family got murdered and now is back to a hidden shinobi no one knows about.
