@@samhaslam4660 Actually I changed the batteries again but using the industrial batteries from my work place, and for some reason it started working again. I guess you can't use cheapo batteries with this lock
I'm having trouble with the Encode only lasting a few months on a beachfront property. I think it has to do with the humidity. Is there a way to stop moisture from entering under the keypad?

if I do setup at home and send it to be installed (on vacation home), how will it calibrate to the door (as left or right)? seems this is a 1-shot action forcing install before wifi setup. ideas?

@@toughfox When the lock is connected to the app, the default codes are disabled automatically. If you are not using the app, enter programming mode. Enter one of the codes to delete. Hit the "X" button. Enter the code to delete again. Hit the check mark button.

Schlage has the longest warranty at two years. If it's younger that, call them for a replacement. Unfortunately, none of the smart locks I am aware of allow for remote resetting.
My Encode does not power on. I replaced the batteries, tried resetting it as well - I can only lock / unlock it manually. Not really sure what happened.

Let me know if others are having issues. I think the electronics are breaking after the first winter/summer for a large group of the locks owned where the weather changes.

This lock is very annoying for remote landlords! It cannot be setup for Wi-Fi UNLESS it can connect immediately! Stupid engineers! All of my companies IoT can be configured and it does not force a reject if that network is not available. And it ERASES all PIN codes when it is configured so I can't setup codes, ship it and ask my technician to setup wi-fi! I just don't get WHY anyone suggests this for rental property - it is almost worthless...
This could have been explained in 10 seconds, but this guy managed to take an excruciating 3 minutes and 46 seconds to do it.

See if the sticker is on the inside of the lock with the original codes. Then just reset it and use the original codes or change them after.

Actually there’s an issue with some encodes eating batteries. Contact Schlage they will ship a replacement!

That's good feedback! We've never tried to set one up remotely, and then connect to a Wi-Fi onsite.
