As someone who had a passionate love for the Legend of the Five Rings LCG, if your game is harder to explain than L5R, it's probably not ready for release
Thanks for the video man, yea looking at it the game is basicaly a step down from legends of runaterra which is surprising Specialy the Leader as a whole
I love that this video exists, this is amazing that theres already rules out......somewhat. but by god if there really is this many rules and phases for each player and then each phase has pre and post phases. this might just be a card that I collect for the art and nothing else
I love it that new TCGs try to always invent the wheel with the resource system... at first I was like "Oh this is force of Will" but then turns out to be a weird version of One Piece.
Another banger from Crypt! Thank you man you are way underated. As for the game it has a lot of REALLY cool ideas like the battlefields needing to be conquered as opposed to just have life points/shields. The concept of the 8th point being a bit tougher to get is VERY rad. I think the game overcomplicates things a bit though and i feel like theres a lot of fat that could be trimmed. Like having both a Legends card and a Champion card is kind of confusing.
It's a shame Runeterra died for this. But at least battlefields catching on is cool. 40k Conquest, Marvel Snap, etc. I'm already considering doing something with that idea.
Mate, Runterra did not die for this. It died on its own. That game has little to no monetization structure and it suffered for it. I personally like the game and I recognize that was a sinking ship from launch. RIOT was too generous with the game and they admitted to that too. This is just better.
hope the people that LIKE to play the GAME will not suffer from the lack of money going into the GAME. So make super giga mega versions of cards to people can get them please!!
Have you ever had a look at: 1) Vampire; The eternal Struggle 2) Shadowrun: Crossfire? V:ES is quite famous among TCG fans as it was multiplayer and considered very good, and Shadowrun crossfire, although not a TCG (It is a deckbuilder), is much loved for it's great gameplay and innovation. Just some vid ideas!
You know, people can dunk on Artifact all they want, at least it had the balls to do something interesting. This seems as bland as the cards themselves.
Whatt? Now you can play facedown cards in the battle field. Amd then you cant get the 8th point unless you hold it ot capture all of them. Defending spells go first then attacking spells? This is way more complicated than modern yugioh. They needed a health and attack stat. Now the health regenerates depending on certain things or whatever. It just seems too qll over the place. This happens but it wont hapoen unless you have this to happen.....but only if that happen prior. Thats what it sounds like to me
Not that it would be your cup of tea. And it might be a bit off-putting, with the language barrier. But I would love a video on the detective conan tcg. It would be pretty easy. A few people already made vids. And some people made a fan-made website, that explains the rules mostly and translates every card.
ok, on the first view, the game looks kinda generic. But the "lane" separeted battle and power combine, got my atention. But the rest is "meh". Nice video btw!
@@RuneboundTCG don't get me wrong, I didn't say the game wasn't fun, only generic in some aspects. Like "Why would I play X if theres already Y?". Get it.
Hit the nail right on the head. The Battlefield mechanic is super unique but otherwise it's just another magic-a-like in a glut of Magic-a-likes. I don't even know why they have colours when there are factions WITHIN League of Legends lore.
@@CardGameCrypt at first I thought this is just another magic/duel masters clone, but then I saw the capture the flag gameplay and thought this is better than I expected
I have been playing League since it came out. More so on and off as of a few years now since the game is literally horrible nowadays. However i do love the League universe, i got into Magic recently and have been having a blast. So far from what i am seeing i am not impressed by this sadly. It will probably will not be for me to play, but maybe i'll collect some cards. If they look pretty that is lol.
Quick note. If it’s a best of 3 game, you choose one of your three battlefields to start the game with, and you can’t choose that same battlefield again for the rest of the match. Best of one games, you randomly pick one of your three battlefields
With the Champions I feel like they should get some new art, as gorgeous as the Splashes are. Would make it feel a bit more unique as something separate from the MOBA. All the other cards can just recycle from Runeterra and stuff.
@@G004Morning they will probably use lor arts, these general types are placeholders, the only real ones we can see are the arcane ones and they are much better imo. Especially in the holographic side of the cards, those are one of the best holo effects i have seen in a card game
@@DourPrize It could be achieved by different methods, like for ex. each player rolls dice for their battlefield and lowest result is discarded (bottom ties roll another die until one roll lower)
As the game goes in I am sure they'll get more creative. Even Pokémon does that. Any new Pokemon and they'll just use the pokemon's stock photo. I agree though, definitely kinda annoying lazy to some.
Riot will do everything but make the MMO. They are actively avoiding it. The people who like the animated series have already tried the game and a good majority aren't into it or expressed that they don't like MOBAs.
I just realized that there could be two different meanings to a "generic mana system." The first meaning is fairly straight forward, it means that one think the system for playing cards is fairly generic, and not special or unique. The second meaning derives from how MTG players commonly refer to "Colorless Mana" as "Generic Mana", and thus the second meaning would be that the game's system for playing cards doesn't care about faction/color restrictions, and/or cares so little about faction/color restrictions that you can basically ignore that when deck building or game playing. Also, I am curious Big_Dai, what is the line that makes a mana system no longer generic?
Is it generic? You dont play card from your hand to your mana zone - that would be the most "generic" (as in played out) mechanic from MtG to Duelmasters. And colours matter for special effects of your cards.
As someone who had a passionate love for the Legend of the Five Rings LCG, if your game is harder to explain than L5R, it's probably not ready for release
I like this video, comprehensive and easy to understand. The game itself though I'm not keen on personally.
That was a great video, but my gosh, this card game has so many elements on it, this was by far the best explanation that i found online
Thanks for the video man, yea looking at it the game is basicaly a step down from legends of runaterra which is surprising

My 🐐 with the most insightful content as always
I came to learn about the game, I stayed for the chaotic energy of the video haha.

Looks good and different! Looking forward to it!
It's a shame Runeterra died for this. But at least battlefields catching on is cool. 40k Conquest, Marvel Snap, etc. I'm already considering doing something with that idea.
I think it's closer to a WoW TCG thing where one thing died on it's own, so they're trying to pick up the pieces and make a new thing out of it.

Conquest was and is my favorite card game ever 🥹
God I miss Battlerite 😢
Looks like another kitchen sink designed battle game. Love the video and your style - keep rocking!
Age of Mythology background music.. so nostalgic
I like the battlefield mechanic
Might maybe be a good board game with customizable play pieces, but as a card game i don't really see it getting as popular as they need it to be.
Yeah this screams "Living Card Game" like all those Fantasy Flight Games card games
For a second, i thought this was the PS5 pro of trading card games.
simple explanation. thanks.
Project Potassium lmao
As for the TCG I have no opinions but the Gundam ones looks interesting!

You should try Drakerion !

Not being able to be knocked out is a pretty big difference I think.

I'll see, but I mostly stick to games that are in Englando.
@CardGameCrypt that's fine.
Just for it to be nominated is cool, too.

It's coming for sure! We have already filmed it, just have to edit it.
This actually has some potential

Really? It doesn't seems to be that fast paced especially with "8 point" rule.
The fact that the art on the Jinx card is just re-used LoL picture is the lamest shit ever. Come on guys, you can afford original artwork.
If the artwork is good enough, there's no shame in reusing it for a card game. That's what Hearthstone did.
