Anyone complaining about race bending for the Supergirl character just remember, Sasha auditioned and beat 500 other candidates, some probably with blonde hair and blue eyes already. Also keep in mind, those traits can be quickly altered with hair dye and contacts, if DC chooses to go that route so why even complain. We are getting the best actress for the role and that's all that matters.
I personally don't believe Human women should be stealing good acting jobs from Kryptonian women. An ACTUAL Kryptonian refugee should have gotten that part since they are underrepresented in film.🙃

She's White. The "Hispanic Latino" label is absurd. At the end of the day her race is White. Or at the very least, Dominant White Majority genes in her.

The word "Sasha" means something along the lines of "Defender". Not sure what language though. The name first came to me through Attack on Titan.
And "Calle" is the Spanish word for "Street"
So her name is could mean "defender of the streets".
