- Living By Design modified our previous interview with After 7 to pay a well deserved tribute to the legendary co-Founder of one of the greatest R&B trios of our era. His iconic voice will be sorely missed! Rest In Power Melvin Edmonds. WE LOVE YOU!

Melvin! My old buddy from Chrysler days. Gonna miss this man. I'd run into him at White Castle in Nap, hung out at his Moms house on Riviera with Michael and then to see him at the Celebrity Theater near Long Beach as After 7...Wow! He was always so humble, could sing his butt off. Talented family. Blessed,...truly Blessed.

OMG!! This is my absolute favorite R & B group of all time! Thank you very much for the video, and this interview. I don’t think After 7 understands how much they really mean to Generation X. After 7 showed up and showed out with setting the bar at higher standards in the R & B genera. When After 7 stop producing albums in the early 2000’s as a group it hurt the music industry; We all loved and will miss Melvin!

Melvin was a true throw back to the golden era of soul. His sound was vital to the success of After 7. Now don't get me wrong Timeless was a solid comeback album. Too Late and I Want You are right up there with some of their best tracks. But as a whole it's at least a couple notches below their earlier releases. RIP Melvin thank you for the memories and great music. Prayers to the Edmonds family.
After 7 blessed us with real music of all times.l loved them regardless of being underrated. Thank you guys for the heartlifting food for the soul.Mostly thank you for the tribute.
AFTER 7 ARE LEGENDS. MELVIN IS TRULY MISSED. You all are so humble and so respectful. My 3 year niece love her some After 7. She sings Too Late and parts too late too rewind too late I'm sorry over and over. I am a fan for life. Thank you for such beautiful songs.

It's crazy she said how After 7 is the greatest R&B group(singers) of all time. I DO AGREE WITH HER. This one group that DO NOT GET THE CREDIT. I'm salty as well. I remember the first time I ever heard after 7, I had to be like 14, I'm 29 now. I remember hearing Kevon sing and I took it to my friend was like "yo You got to hear these guys sing" at that time were trying to start our own middle school, high school group... But when it comes to the Edmond family babyface is my favorite producer and After 7 is my favorite R&B group. They all are great singers, even my boy Keith, very cool guy, played his role well. After 7, top tier R&B group. RIP Melvin. Shout out to his son Jason for holding it down.

Many boys in this family. So much natural God given talent. I personally believe each and every brother from the family could sing. Not all pursued that choice of a career, but I believe each and every one was blessed with the ability to sing, should they have chose that path. I'm so deeply saddened for the families loss, I grieve with them forever. RIP melvin, you were loved and still are, and forever shall be.
